Summary

A classic sort of love story。。。 except somebody might wind up dead。

Nobody knows Delilah like Logan does。 Nobody。 He makes sure of it by learning everything he can through her social media and watching her through a hidden camera he has trained on her house。 Some might call him a stalker。 Logan prefers to be called “romantic。”

But after Logan sees Delilah killing her abusive stepfather, he realizes there’s still more about her to discover。 His sweet, perfect Delilah isn’t so perfect after all。

Delilah knows she should feel guilty, but all she feels is free。 She’s so over the men in her life controlling her。 Except Logan saw what she did, and he won’t let her forget it。

Delilah is done being the victim。 And she refuses to be a character in Logan’s twisted fantasy。 If Logan won’t let her go… she’ll make him。

I really enjoyed this, definitely one of the best YA thrillers I’ve read in a long time。 I was reading this mainly to see if I would be interested in You and now I’m definitely going to pick that one up。 I was going to rate this book 5 stars up until she started lowkey dragging him which I’m still not sure how I feel about that。 However, the themes and discussions this book had were very important and profoundly done。 Overall, this was a fantastic and fast paced read!

The writing was really good and I enjoyed the story。 Not the type of book I usually read but I liked it。 The ending felt unfinished, so I guess there’s gonna be a part 2? It felt a bit anticlimactic。 Still a good read。

I cannot even begin to imagine where the author will take this story in book two, but I found myself surprisingly captivated by Dee who is (without a doubt) the real focus of our story。The story is told from two points of view - of Logan, a star lacrosse player, and Dee, a new student at the school。 From the beginning my senses were tingling in overdrive at Logan and his earnest creepiness。 Nobody seemed suspicious of him, but his internal monologue as he talks about a past student and his relat I cannot even begin to imagine where the author will take this story in book two, but I found myself surprisingly captivated by Dee who is (without a doubt) the real focus of our story。The story is told from two points of view - of Logan, a star lacrosse player, and Dee, a new student at the school。 From the beginning my senses were tingling in overdrive at Logan and his earnest creepiness。 Nobody seemed suspicious of him, but his internal monologue as he talks about a past student and his relationship with her gives off very worrying vibes。 When he sees Dee across the school site, he is convinced they are destined to be together and so begins his one-sided pursuit of this quiet young girl who is definitely not what she first appears。Dee has her own secrets。 Some of which are more serious than others, and some of which certainly took me rather by surprise。 What we know from very early on is that Dee is suffering at the hands of her abusive stepfather。。。but as he’s a policeman she and her mum believe they’re on their own。Splitting between the two views means some of the plot details are not revealed quite as quickly as you might like。 Logan is convinced he has the upper hand in his relationship with Dee, and I can’t begin to imagine how terrifying it would be to find yourself faced with a stalker who’s under the delusion that you are as committed to the relationship as he is。 However, we also learn pretty early on that Dee has a resolve to her that is positively scary。Reading this became a tense cat and mouse style chase, where we knew someone would come out of this badly but we genuinely don’t know who it will be。 We know we haven’t seen the end of this setting/characters, and I am very curious to see how things develop as they leave the safety of high school。 。。。more

My Rating: 3 / 5 🌟I had pretty high expectations going into this book。 Because for one, the plot sounds interesting and two, I really want to get into the Thriller genre。 But sadly, this book was quite a let down。The story follows Logan who becomes obsessed with Delilah and decides to stalk her。 Then, Delilah being fed up with it, wants to have her revenge。 Sounds like it could be a twisting and compelling story? IT SURE DOES。 But was it as twisting and compelling as I hoped for? IT SURE DOES。 But was it as twisting and compelling as I hoped for? I'm sad to say it was not。The story tried to incorporate issues to make the story worked in its favour, but that was the problem。 The issue didn't mean anything else than to justify the actions the characters did。 The book would've been so much better (in my opinion) if it really played the issue card well, that will make me second guess what's truly right or wrong。The book did sort of had the whole what's is right and what is wrong going for it, but then here comes another problem。 The book was too short and everything was just clumped together, that we didn't even have time to question what is right and what is wrong。 The story had so many plot points to hit that it seems the author was just only trying to hit those plot points instead of fleshing it out and make the book more layered than just being something so straightforward。Moving on to the characters, the were okay, I guess? Then had zero personality whatsoever。 I was more interested to read Logan's POV only because it's interesting to see how he rationalize his behaviour。 As for Delilah, she could honestly be SO MUCH BETTER, I couldn't connect with her at all and I just couldn't care for her。Overall, I just wished the book was longer and the author take her time fleshing everything out, instead of this end product。 There is a sequel, and I might pick it up but probably not。 However, if you're looking of a quick read, then I think this might a good choice。 。。。more

TW: gore, violence, domestic abuse, mental abuse, stalking, murderFor a book that tackles such heavy topics, it was so easy to digest。 i finished this book in maybe a day and a half, it was that easy to finish。 it just felt so simple and straight forward that i couldn’t put it down and just continued reading。 it was pretty average though i’ll have to admit。 the entire time i was reading it, i just felt like i was a reading another wattpad book trying to be edgy。 idk i think the whole idea of a t TW: gore, violence, domestic abuse, mental abuse, stalking, murderFor a book that tackles such heavy topics, it was so easy to digest。 i finished this book in maybe a day and a half, it was that easy to finish。 it just felt so simple and straight forward that i couldn’t put it down and just continued reading。 it was pretty average though i’ll have to admit。 the entire time i was reading it, i just felt like i was a reading another wattpad book trying to be edgy。 idk i think the whole idea of a teenage girl trying to reclaim her power by becoming a mass manipulator and murderer seemed kinda cringey to me and i’m all for powerful women trampling over men to claim their position in life, but the character herself was so two dimensional i just couldn’t help but feel a tad bit embarrassed。 just both characters didn’t really have any depth to them, it just felt so surface level that i couldn’t really invest myself in either of their stories。 i will say though the book did a good job at making me feel confused on who to root for, and it did make me happy that the main female lead was a morally gray character because i love those in stories。 overall, a very average ya thriller。 if you’re looking for something super easy to read i’d say go for it。 。。。more

I really enjoyed reading this book because of the narrative style。 I expected most of the plot and I was wrong for all of them!! The plot twists are *chef’s kiss*。 I could just read it in one sitting。 Can’t wait to read the sequel!

Wow this book was amazing。 I read a lot of adult thrillers, but this is the first young adult thriller that I was really into。 It was super suspenseful and interesting and very unpredictable。 Best book I've read in a long time。I thought the author did a great job with having the two unreliable narrators。 It's interesting because we know that Logan is absolutely crazy so we know that he's unreliable, but what I didn't see until after I finished the book and thought about it for a while is that De Wow this book was amazing。 I read a lot of adult thrillers, but this is the first young adult thriller that I was really into。 It was super suspenseful and interesting and very unpredictable。 Best book I've read in a long time。I thought the author did a great job with having the two unreliable narrators。 It's interesting because we know that Logan is absolutely crazy so we know that he's unreliable, but what I didn't see until after I finished the book and thought about it for a while is that Delilah is too, but in a different way。 This was really good writing。 Another interesting point was that none of the characters were really 3-Dimensional except the two main characters, but that actually didn't harm the story at all because it allows us to focus on those two characters。Overall this was a very unique book。 I see that there's a sequel marked on Goodreads。 I wonder what it'll be about since I thought the ending was closed off, but I do have some ideas。 Can't wait to read it! 。。。more

"A classic sort of love story。 Except someone might wind up dead"Damn giiiiiirl okaymy only complain about this book is that it was too short。 I feel like there are details and scenes that could have been added to make the story more interesting and give it more depth。 I would love to learn more about Logan's past。 Why he became the person he was。 Other than that I think it was a solid debut。 I absolutely loved the author's writing style。 I would get angry at how Logan and Brendon treated Dee 'c "A classic sort of love story。 Except someone might wind up dead"Damn giiiiiirl okaymy only complain about this book is that it was too short。 I feel like there are details and scenes that could have been added to make the story more interesting and give it more depth。 I would love to learn more about Logan's past。 Why he became the person he was。 Other than that I think it was a solid debut。 I absolutely loved the author's writing style。 I would get angry at how Logan and Brendon treated Dee 'cause it felt really real。 I was very invested in Dee's story。 Sometimes even rooting for her (actually most of the time)。 Sure, what she did was horrible, but I get why she did it。 Would definitely read more of her books! 。。。more

Eh。。。it was just, ok。 I kept waiting for something big to happen, and when it did, it was kind of anticlimactic。 Not to mention, the writing is pretty vague and there is nothing really original about the plot。

This was a surprising YA thriller that started like You and then took it’s own little path。 Delilah is having a really hard go as of late: her father has passed away and her mom’s current boyfriend is abusive。 Being a cop has put them both in an even more difficult situation, fearful they won’t be believed。 When a fellow student, Logan, takes interest in Delilah, her life is only set to get scarier。He’s not only already following her and obsessed with her, but after witnessing an act that he fil This was a surprising YA thriller that started like You and then took it’s own little path。 Delilah is having a really hard go as of late: her father has passed away and her mom’s current boyfriend is abusive。 Being a cop has put them both in an even more difficult situation, fearful they won’t be believed。 When a fellow student, Logan, takes interest in Delilah, her life is only set to get scarier。He’s not only already following her and obsessed with her, but after witnessing an act that he filmed, he decides to blackmail Delilah into dating him。 Cornered and scared, she feels she has no choice but to lie to her best friend and mom and go along with the charade of dating Logan。 But how long can she let him control her life? It was one sentence the middle of the chapter and it was pretty glossed over even though it was a major plot point in the book。 Overall though, I did enjoy this book and there were quite a few points especially in the last chunk of the book where my heart was pounding out of my chest。 。。。more

Wow it’s been a while I found a YA book so gripping and easily readable。 This story is fast-paced and will get you hooked。 Well at least it got ME hooked! This story already felt so final so I’m excited what will happen in the sequel。 Would be interesting if it takes place in Singapore! P。S。 I hope I’m not the only one who low-key feels a bit sorry for Logan (even though he’s a major creep lol)

The book kinda reads like You by but written with younger characters and from a first person perspective。 Logan even reminded me of Joe (but a less enjoyable version of)。 I believe his grand reveal to Delilah happened way too early in and it would have been more entertaining or suspenseful if she discovered later。 That being said, I found the story enjoyable and I liked the development of Delilah’s character。 It’s missing a little something for more than 3 stars but I’m still curious to read the The book kinda reads like You by but written with younger characters and from a first person perspective。 Logan even reminded me of Joe (but a less enjoyable version of)。 I believe his grand reveal to Delilah happened way too early in and it would have been more entertaining or suspenseful if she discovered later。 That being said, I found the story enjoyable and I liked the development of Delilah’s character。 It’s missing a little something for more than 3 stars but I’m still curious to read the sequel。Thank you Edelweiss and Sourcebooks fire for the digital copy in exchange of an honest review。 。。。more

Being inside the head of a stalker feels。。。 uncomfortable。 I didn't quite like that we found out his reasons for stalking in the very first chapter。。。 I think it would've been nice to have more of a build up to it。 The author seems to be really laying it on thick for us, which I'm sure is intentional, because it's like that throughout the story, and actually I think it really fits this kind of fast-paced pageturner。 I really could not put this book down, as uncomfortable and unrealistic it was a Being inside the head of a stalker feels。。。 uncomfortable。 I didn't quite like that we found out his reasons for stalking in the very first chapter。。。 I think it would've been nice to have more of a build up to it。 The author seems to be really laying it on thick for us, which I'm sure is intentional, because it's like that throughout the story, and actually I think it really fits this kind of fast-paced pageturner。 I really could not put this book down, as uncomfortable and unrealistic it was at times。The one thing that did feel really real to me, though, was the abuse and coercion of Delilah's stepfather to her and her mother。 I actually got triggered by it, which is bad for me, but it just proves how well the author knows about this topic and how good she is at writing perpetrators。 It's only fitting that both the main character if this book are perpetrators aswell。 I just hope the author's okay lmao。 This book gave me the right kind of thrills, I even sort of rooted for Delilah, in a twisted sort of way, and I will probably pick up the second book once it comes out! trigger warnings: phyiscal abuse, mental abuse, coercive control, financial abuse, police brutality, murder 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Welp。。。 there’s no way to spoil this book in a review since the story is on the cover。 But I’ll put the spoilers tag on anyway。 I didn’t connect with the characters。 I was initially interested because this felt like a teenage version of You by Caroline Kepnes。 However, it ended up being way different。 Logan has a delusional disorder。 Basically he gets stuck on a belief (for this instance love and that he and Delilah are meant to be) and any fight or disagreement towards this belief is met with a Welp。。。 there’s no way to spoil this book in a review since the story is on the cover。 But I’ll put the spoilers tag on anyway。 I didn’t connect with the characters。 I was initially interested because this felt like a teenage version of You by Caroline Kepnes。 However, it ended up being way different。 Logan has a delusional disorder。 Basically he gets stuck on a belief (for this instance love and that he and Delilah are meant to be) and any fight or disagreement towards this belief is met with an unrealistic emotional response。 Delilah has too much going on。 She’s at this prep school or boarding school as a day student because her dad died in an oil rig explosion。 The world hates her and her mom cuz it was his fault and the oil is a huge global disaster because it’s polluting the ocean。 Then she has the misfortune to bump into Logan’s crazy ass (who I forgot to mention already has a questionable history with a previous girl) boy meets girl。 Boy falls in love。 Delilah mother also has a godawful abusive boyfriend that is a detective who beats on her and Delilah。 One day he’s fixing his car and calls for Delilah to go get him more beer (she’s underage but ok 🙄) and on the way out she kicks the carjack and the car crushes him to death and also lays the trap for her because Logan’s crazy ass has cameras set up across the street and got it all on camera。 (The cops think it was an accident so she gets away with it legally but Logan has other plans。) So he takes her on a date, they enjoy it and then he accidentally tells her he’s in love with her at the end。 Dee tries to get away from him (as she should) and he follows her and shows her the video。 Trapped。 The rest of the story is watching her deal with Logan inserting himself into her life and feeling trapped。 Oh? Did I mention she is also a drug dealer? Yeah that’s how out of the blue that confession came in the story too。 Anyways there’s been a big drug problem on this prep/boarding school campus and apparently she’s the new dealer with the librarian。 To wrap this allllll up, she eventually comes up with a plan to get rid of Logan, not a second too soon because he was coming up with a plan to make her love him by destroying the evidence of her murdering the cop and then killing her so she would forever love him。 Which is cool cuz she’s been drugging him for a few days trying to set him up as the drug dealer so he doesn’t blackmail her into dating him forever。 Girl gets revenge。 The story ended kinda abruptly but it’s a book 1。 I likely won’t be reading book 2。 I don’t think I was the targeted audience for this one。 And after rereading this。。。 I guess I did put a few spoilers in it。 Oops 😬 。。。more
