Summary

Perfect for fans of The Illuminae Files and The 100, in this heart-racing sequel to The Final Six the teen astronauts must figure out the truth about Europa before it’s too late。

It was hard enough for Naomi to leave Leo, a fellow Final Six contestant, behind on a dying Earth。 Now she doesn’t know who to trust。

The International Space Training Camp continues to dodge every question about its past failed mission, and Naomi is suspicious that not everything is as it seems on her own mission to Europa。 With just one shot at Jupiter’s moon, Naomi is determined to find out if there is dangerous alien life on Europa before she and her crew get there。

Leo, back on Earth, has been working with renegade scientist Dr。 Greta Wagner, who promises to fly him to space where he can dock with Naomi’s ship。 And if Wagner’s hypothesis is right, it isn’t a possibility of coming in contact with extraterrestrial life on Europa—it’s a definite, and it’s up to Leo to find and warn Naomi and the crew。

With questions piling up, everything gets more dangerous the closer that the mission gets to Europa。 A storm threatens to interfere with Leo’s takeoff, a deadly entity makes itself known to the Final Six, and all questions the ISTC has been avoiding about the previous mission get answered in a terrifying way。

If the dream was to establish a new world for humans on Europa…the Final Six are about to enter a nightmare。

3。5 Stars。 That was a quick 2nd book! This was fun and I loved the main characters。 But the ending was a little fast and short。

Meh。Book #2 of 2, although the ending suggests there might be a third installment。For me this is more aptly called space fiction (space romance?), not science fiction。 In the acknowledgements Ms Monir thanks her science consultants, so she obviously had them, but the whole Mars thing was so far-fetched when we’ve been exploring Mars for more than twenty years and have tons of data from that exploration。 Make up anything you want about about Europa, but with Mars you have to at least give a nod t Meh。Book #2 of 2, although the ending suggests there might be a third installment。For me this is more aptly called space fiction (space romance?), not science fiction。 In the acknowledgements Ms Monir thanks her science consultants, so she obviously had them, but the whole Mars thing was so far-fetched when we’ve been exploring Mars for more than twenty years and have tons of data from that exploration。 Make up anything you want about about Europa, but with Mars you have to at least give a nod to the science and knowledge available at the time the book is written。Will I read a third installment when it comes out? I just finished this book last night。 It was incredible。 The first book was amazing and then this one was just filled to the brim of edge of seat excitement。 The entire time reading I had an adrenaline rush and was left on so many cliffhangers it was impossible to put the book down。 The book is written so well and the characters are developed greatly。 I loved the way you could identify with each character in some way, even the less major characters。 Definitely would recommend this series for any I just finished this book last night。 It was incredible。 The first book was amazing and then this one was just filled to the brim of edge of seat excitement。 The entire time reading I had an adrenaline rush and was left on so many cliffhangers it was impossible to put the book down。 The book is written so well and the characters are developed greatly。 I loved the way you could identify with each character in some way, even the less major characters。 Definitely would recommend this series for anyone who likes dystopian novels and it’s a plus if you love space。 This is one of my favorite series and I would have to put this up there along with Divergent and The Maze Runner series。 。。。more

Great Sequel!! Not sure I want a next book, but only because I'm afraid it might go the way Ender's Game series went for me。 But I can see where a next book could go, so。。。 i don't know。 Anywho, The twists and turns were great, things ended kind of how I wanted them to, but enough difference that it wasn't too predictable。 If you like The Final Six, you'll definitely like this。 Great Sequel!! The Life Below was a space-tacular continuation of The Final Six。 It was like watching a great futuristic NASA movie。 Spacewalks, danger, lost communication, loss, surprises, alien terrain, uncharted territory, romance, deception, and advanced science all come together to make a gripping adventure。 I really enjoyed the entire ride。 The reason that there are 4 stars instead of 5 is I wanted more at the end。 The ending was clear, concise, and gave us what we needed to close out the story in an int The Life Below was a space-tacular continuation of The Final Six。 It was like watching a great futuristic NASA movie。 Spacewalks, danger, lost communication, loss, surprises, alien terrain, uncharted territory, romance, deception, and advanced science all come together to make a gripping adventure。 I really enjoyed the entire ride。 The reason that there are 4 stars instead of 5 is I wanted more at the end。 The ending was clear, concise, and gave us what we needed to close out the story in an interesting way, but after working toward this goal with them, I wanted to know more about the life they established on Europa and how they were surviving。 As the end of the book approached, it seemed there were not enough pages for everything I wanted to know。 Altogether it was enjoyable, but I wanted more。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Couple things bother me。1。 They find out Beckett has secrets and knows things he shouldn’t and they do not interrogate him and include him in decisions。 2。 When they realize the one AI was commanded to kill their communications, they do not consider Earth can change their coordinates, control their ship, or command the other AI to do things they do not want。 3。 Not fan of ending unless we get a third book。 But the loss of Beckett and what happened the。 Should have been fleshed out a little bit。 Couple things bother me。1。 They find out Beckett has secrets and knows things he shouldn’t and they do not interrogate him and include him in decisions。 2。 When they realize the one AI was commanded to kill their communications, they do not consider Earth can change their coordinates, control their ship, or command the other AI to do things they do not want。 3。 Not fan of ending unless we get a third book。 But the loss of Beckett and what happened the。 Should have been fleshed out a little bit。 4。 The scientist in charge back home talking to Sam says five on Europa。 Pretty sure there is only 4 now unless i missed something。 。。。more

This duology is seriously underrated。 It's been soo long since I've been so drawn into a good dystopian / sci-fi book。 Is it the best one out there? No。 Is it one of my personal favorites though? Yes。 My actual rating for this book is 4。5/5。Let's start with the actual book individually。 A lot of what I said in my review for the first book in this duology actually carries on with this book。 I loved the characters, even though the group of the main characters changed, however, most of them were lacking depth ( except of course Leo and Naomi as well as a certain someone else ;) ) The setting was well described and the positions of each character were clearly defined and I found each of them interesting in that aspect。 The plot in this book was an amazing continuation of the first book and I loved how everything was brought together and connected here while still being able to surprise me with a bunch of plot twists and unexpected events。 I did find that there was a bit less impact on the amount of action they had in this book but it didn't personally affect me。 Also in this book, the beginning through the middle is written in a significantly different format than the first, which I found interesting to read and benefited the plot well。 It wasn't confusingly executed like a lot of the other books I've seen and done this。 Here's my take on the series as a whole ( because this is the last book。) I think that Alexandra Monir is a very underrated author and as someone who can be particularly picky about what they want in a dystopian and sci-fi book ( because most of them are all under the same concepts), I loved this duo。 There was POC representation and diversity in most of the cast, the plot was enticing, fast-paced, and filled with surprises and anticipation but not so complicated that I got confused and I love the characters for the most part。 The setting and atmosphere were also so interesting。If you are looking for a dystopian novel, this one is literally such a good place to start! 。。。more

The last book promised something exciting in this one。 This book promised something exciting。。。 eventually。 The author has no plans to finish the story。 With the "cliffhanger" at the end of both books, I'm not likely to bother with anything else she writes。 There's just a whole lot of building up to nowhere。Took me forever to get through it, because I kept rolling my eyes and setting it back down after idiotic decision after predictable non-twist after drama and if you think this sentence is bad The last book promised something exciting in this one。 This book promised something exciting。。。 eventually。 The author has no plans to finish the story。 With the "cliffhanger" at the end of both books, I'm not likely to bother with anything else she writes。 There's just a whole lot of building up to nowhere。Took me forever to get through it, because I kept rolling my eyes and setting it back down after idiotic decision after predictable non-twist after drama and if you think this sentence is bad, well it's an example of some of the witing。Two stars for an interesting premise, but I really can't go higher than that。 。。。more

This book would have had at least a three star rating if it didn't massively rush the ending。 I feel the book should have been at least another 100 pages long to really develop the second half of the book。 I think I would have even been happy if they had embellished on the passage of time a bit and ended the book with the crew landing on Europa。There was so much potential in this story, but all ended too rushed to properly enjoy。 This book would have had at least a three star rating if it didn't massively rush the ending。 I feel the book should have been at least another 100 pages long to really develop the second half of the book。 I think I would have even been happy if they had embellished on the passage of time a bit and ended the book with the crew landing on Europa。There was so much potential in this story, but all ended too rushed to properly enjoy。 。。。more
