Rachel Parkes,
Probably one of the best children’s books Ive bought。 It makes an excellent gift。 Many adults have told me that they too have learnt so much。 It’s such an accessible book for all ages。
Jessica,
The concept is great, but I was expecting more of an invitational book than an explanatory book。
Anna Alexander,
This book is so cute。 Be like the salmon and use the earth’s magnetic forces to find your way。

What a beautiful book! This is not just for children。 I love how the text and illustrations interweave into each mindful and insightful moment。 There's enough information here to satisfy most children--or to be a starting off place for most adults。 A lovely volume that would be equally at home on your child's bookcase or on your coffee table。 What a beautiful book! I read 4 to 5 histories every night with my daughter Carla and we love to share a moment of calm and learn about Nature。 We read it in Catalan, our language!

A really interesting compilation of moments in nature that are worth contemplating。 Reading through it really isn't possible, because each spread is intended to inspire reflection, exploration, and mindfulness。 It would be a great tool to use as inspiration for activities to do as a family (observe the moon for a month, watch a monarch caterpillar go through its life cycle, etc。) or as a class。 A really interesting compilation of moments in nature that are worth contemplating。 Reading through it really isn't possible, because each spread is intended to inspire reflection, exploration, and mindfulness。 It would be a great tool to use as inspiration for activities to do as a family (observe the moon for a month, watch a monarch caterpillar go through its life cycle, etc。) or as a class。 。。。more

Such an intricate nonfiction book featuring so many creatures, plants, environmental and universe phenomena like cloud formation, moon cycles and so much more。Each two-page spread includes illustrations and captions filled with information that will teach and create additional curiosity for all readers。 This book would make for an excellent addition to a school or classroom library。
Carolyn Coote,
I bought this book because I was taken in by the illustrations。 It has 50 stories of how nature works its wonders around us, for example。。。how dew collects on a leaf, how snowflakes are formed, how a tadpole becomes a frog。 It will be an exceptional resource for relief teaching。 Each nature story will be the basis for the day’s literacy, numeracy and science activities。

This one is a 3。5 for me, and I was impressed by those small but meaningful moments in Nature that have been captured here。 Readers can consume the entire book at once, but they also might want to savor each of them。 The accessible text, suitable for sharing as a lap read but also fine for older independent readers, highlights 50 moments that might go unnoticed by busy humans going about their daily tasks。 These wonders are worth taking a moment to stop and notice, though, since they are importa This one is a 3。5 for me, and I was impressed by those small but meaningful moments in Nature that have been captured here。 Readers can consume the entire book at once, but they also might want to savor each of them。 The accessible text, suitable for sharing as a lap read but also fine for older independent readers, highlights 50 moments that might go unnoticed by busy humans going about their daily tasks。 These wonders are worth taking a moment to stop and notice, though, since they are important and in their own way tiny miracles。 From how a bee pollinates a flower to the moon's cycles to how leaves turn color and fall to the ground to the howling of wolves, the book captures the essence of natural life。 But it isn't enough to read about these moments; instead, readers are encouraged to stop, go outside, and see them for themselves。 There are even suggestions for how to turn off other distractions and focus on the moment and the experience right before their eyes。 Often, it is possible to miss what really matters in our haste, and these reminders, alongside the colorful pen and ink illustrations that have been digitally colored, may prompt readers to do what the title suggests--slow down for a moment。 If nothing else good comes from the current pandemic, perhaps it has forced the world to slow down for a bit。 This oversize book would be a fine addition to a personal or a classroom library and a helpful introduction to mindfulness。 。。。more
