Summary

Written by series co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino and drawn by Irene Koh (Secret Origins: Batgirl, Afrina and the Glass Coffin) and with consultation by Bryan Konietzko, this is the official continuation of The Legend of Korra! Collects The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars Parts One, Two, and Three。

New beginnings for Korra and Asami!

After a refreshing sojourn in the Spirit World, Korra and Asami return to Republic City but find nothing but political hijinks and human vs。 spirit conflict! Pompous developer Wonyong Keum plans to turn the new spirit portal into an amusement park, potentially severing an already tumultuous connection with the spirits。 At the city's edge, Zhu Li enlists everyone she can to aid the thousands of hungry and homeless evacuees who have relocated there。 Meanwhile, the Triple Threats' ruthless new leader, Tokuga, is determined to unite the other triads under his rule, no matter the cost。

In order to get through it all, Korra and Asami vow to look out for each other--but first, they've got to get better at being a team!

A wonderful continuation of the animated series, seeing the lovely characters once more is great but falls short when some of them have minor roles than the animated series。 At least we got to see a unique villain in this story and I can't wait to see more of what this series has to offer。 A wonderful continuation of the animated series, seeing the lovely characters once more is great but falls short when some of them have minor roles than the animated series。 At least we got to see a unique villain in this story and I can't wait to see more of what this series has to offer。 。。。more

It was so much fun to pick up right where the show left off and really felt like I was watching some more episodes of LOK。 Overall a lot of fun。

It reads like a fan fiction, Turf Wars is a huge disappointment in the drawing, story and writing。 Jargala is a horrible character, plus there are no indians nor Arabs in the entire canon so why would there be so many in this comic book? Korra was being completely insufferable here by telling everyone she is a lesbian, it shouldn't be a main focus of the story but unfortunately the bad writing made this a reality。 Irene Koh also cannot draw, which made this volume even worse in comparison to the It reads like a fan fiction, Turf Wars is a huge disappointment in the drawing, story and writing。 Jargala is a horrible character, plus there are no indians nor Arabs in the entire canon so why would there be so many in this comic book? I love this book and edition。 For those concerned about the library editions, I find mine not only sturdy and beautiful but still very easy to read。 As for the content, the artwork is superb and very immersive。 The characters still have their personality and quirks from the show, which certainly shine through the brilliant illustrations。 I liked the overall arc of the story, especially as a queer reader eager to explore Korra and Asami's relationship。 Like everything in the Avatar universe, I li I love this book and edition。 For those concerned about the library editions, I find mine not only sturdy and beautiful but still very easy to read。 As for the content, the artwork is superb and very immersive。 The characters still have their personality and quirks from the show, which certainly shine through the brilliant illustrations。 I liked the overall arc of the story, especially as a queer reader eager to explore Korra and Asami's relationship。 Like everything in the Avatar universe, I liked that the story didn't shy away from exploring the differences of Nation's cultures and their views on same-sex relationships。 Getting to see more of the spirit world was also fantastic - the comic format gives you more time to soak in all the different kinds of spirits。 I am very happy that I added these to my collection, and highly recommend them to anyone who loved the Legend of Korra show as much as I did。 。。。more

⭐5/5⭐Estar bien emocionalmente con las escenas de korrasami nunca fue una opción。

After the creators fought to show a queer couple in a TV show for kids, they could only managed to visibilize the hand holding at the end of the Book 4。 Turf Wars continues this plot with more freedom for Korrasami, a development in their relationship and the reaction of their friends/ family。The main plot is also interesting, even though I prefer the plot of Ruins of Empire。 Anyways, in my opinion the psychologic part of this book took over the action part。

This serie of comic books picked up right after the end of LoK,where Asami and Korra go on vacation in the spirit world。 I loved that we got to see a bit of the spirit world, and Korra and Asami's new relationship。 You won't be deceived by these comics, they are very easy to read, the drawing are amazing, and we learned a lot about the gangs in the city which was interesting and althought they're mentionned quite often in the series but never really get the chance to explore all that much about This serie of comic books picked up right after the end of LoK,where Asami and Korra go on vacation in the spirit world。 I loved that we got to see a bit of the spirit world, and Korra and Asami's new relationship。 You won't be deceived by these comics, they are very easy to read, the drawing are amazing, and we learned a lot about the gangs in the city which was interesting and althought they're mentionned quite often in the series but never really get the chance to explore all that much about them。 。。。more

I can definitely say more, but this was a great breezy read which was an excellent continuation from the end of the TV series。 I was happy to see Korra and Asami develop their relationship, and to see the character of Zhu Li better developed。 I definitely come down on the side of enjoying Korra profoundly as a character, and how she grows through her story arcs。

Hmmm I'm going with 3。5 stars。 Fun overall, but I'm not a huge fan of The Legend of Korra, so I never expected to love this。 And I didn't, but it was still an enjoyable read。 :) Hmmm I'm going with 3。5 stars。 Fun overall, but I'm not a huge fan of The Legend of Korra, so I never expected to love this。 And I didn't, but it was still an enjoyable read。 :) 。。。more

Even with that there are challenges as Korra's father tells her to "just be careful, Korra。 It's best to keep your personal life PRIVATE。" Words of advice to live by, but Korra was still aghast at her mom's explanation。 This felt very real, in fact the strength of this issue is how they deal with all the human emotions in a heartfelt, beautiful way, without glossing over harsh truths that some people just WILL not accept。The Turf Wars in he title refers to one between Wonyong Keum (who wants to build an amusement park into the spirit world) and a dragon spirit and another between all the triads who are battling on the streets near where refugees live。 The triads are a purely human problem, but the spirit vs。 human conflict could get VERY Bad since civil war is usually smaller in scope than inter-realm conflicts。 Dragon Spirit "I urge you to CLOSE the portal, Avatar。 It was never meant to be here and Humans like this man will only EXPLOIT it -- Because now there is a portal to the spirit world in the MIDDLE OF A METROPOLIS。 I have no choice but to PROTECT MY KIND。"A very satisfying initial issue for the new comic。 It has everything - high stakes, plenty of fighting and delicious emotional conflict。 。。。more

A fitting continuation of the show - picked up right where book 4 left off。 Returning characters are generally written well and remain true to the source material。 I'm glad to see Asami getting a real shot at happiness - she was my favorite of the supporting cast, and had so much happen to/around her during the show - so I'm hoping that her new relationship will last and provide that。Docked a star because the villain here was maybe a bit of a caricature and certainly under-developed。 Nevertheles A fitting continuation of the show - picked up right where book 4 left off。 Returning characters are generally written well and remain true to the source material。 I'm glad to see Asami getting a real shot at happiness - she was my favorite of the supporting cast, and had so much happen to/around her during the show - so I'm hoping that her new relationship will last and provide that。Docked a star because the villain here was maybe a bit of a caricature and certainly under-developed。 Nevertheless, still enjoyable, and fans of the series should definitely pick this up。 。。。more

(Sorry if my English isn't good, it's not my first language)I am not gonna lie, I think that the villain of this series is。。。not so good。 Not bad either, but we had villains like Amon, the Red Lotus and Kuvira, I was expecting something more exciting。 However, I loved it, Turf Wars is a good sequel and if you are missing the universe of Atla and Lok then you should really give it a shot。 (Sorry if my English isn't good, it's not my first language)I am not gonna lie, I think that the villain of this series is。。。not so good。 Not bad either, but we had villains like Amon, the Red Lotus and Kuvira, I was expecting something more exciting。 However, I loved it, Turf Wars is a good sequel and if you are missing the universe of Atla and Lok then you should really give it a shot。 。。。more

The Legend of Korra's Turf Wars was a fantastic addition to the Avatar universe。 I absolutely loved the thrilling plotlines, the beautiful artwork (the landscape views of Republic City were stunning!), and the inclusion of new minor characters from diverse backgrounds。 I think Turf Wars is one of the best Avatar comicbooks so far。 The Legend of Korra's Turf Wars was a fantastic addition to the Avatar universe。 I absolutely loved the thrilling plotlines, the beautiful artwork (the landscape views of Republic City were stunning!), and the inclusion of new minor characters from diverse backgrounds。 I think Turf Wars is one of the best Avatar comicbooks so far。 。。。more
