Summary

Stunningly handsome Kohei Sugihara was outgoing and popular with the girls at school。 But when a sudden illness left him with partial hearing loss, he grew quiet and reluctant to engage with others。 At college, a chance encounter with an ever-optimistic classmate named Taichi Sagawa helped Kohei open up once more。 And over time, the two began to develop feelings for each other。 As the story continues, the pair tries to balance their budding relationship alongside Taichi's inspiring new career and Kohei's continued studies。 But things don't always go as planned。 One day, seemingly out of nowhere, Kohei announces that maybe they should spend some time apart。

4/5 stars。I'm taking a star off for the casual transphobia near the end。 It's gross and mangaka gotta cut that shit out。 The overall narrative was especially compelling in this volume。 It felt less about Kohei and Taichi and more about what it means to live in a world not designed for you。 What it means to be privileged, what it means to be disabled, what it means to bridge the gaps between the two and create a more accessible world。 However, because of this focus, Kohei and Taichi are able to r 4/5 stars。I'm taking a star off for the casual transphobia near the end。 It's gross and mangaka gotta cut that shit out。 The overall narrative was especially compelling in this volume。 It felt less about Kohei and Taichi and more about what it means to live in a world not designed for you。 What it means to be privileged, what it means to be disabled, what it means to bridge the gaps between the two and create a more accessible world。 However, because of this focus, Kohei and Taichi are able to realize what they want from each other and, despite their faults, continue to make their relationship work and persevere。 Kohei and Taichi occasionally take a backseat to Chiba and Ryu's expanded backstory and the re-building of their relationship, which was nice to see。 I didn't care much for Ryu beforehand but his backstory and development in this volume created a more complex and relatable character。 Maya also had some focus, though it was small in comparison。[MINOR SPOILER BELOW]The final chapter also addressed the dubious consent and Kohei's possessiveness in earlier chapters。 Kohei apologizes to Taichi for his previous behavior and I am happy that the mangaka took the time to give it the weight it deserved。 。。。more

“There’s something to be said for havin’ someone to lean on。 But that don’t always mean physically。 It’s more about two souls feelin’ the same way。 Keepin’ each other in mind。 Knowin’ there’s someone out there who believes in you。 Sometimes that knowledge itself is enough to help you carry on。 So you tell me。 Realizin’ you ain’t alone in the world。。。 isn’t that the same thing as bein’ protected?”That’s the only thing I have for why this was perfect。 That one quote。

I love this series so much, I’m happy to see how this story has come to an end but also sad that this is the end for these characters。 This story was so sweet and very respectful in discussing hearing-impaired people。 This series has expressed the importance of communicating and that when you try to help others by distancing yourself it won’t work。 Fumino does a wonderful job at expressing emotion in all the characters。 All of the characters are great and so well developed, and I loved that ther I love this series so much, I’m happy to see how this story has come to an end but also sad that this is the end for these characters。 This story was so sweet and very respectful in discussing hearing-impaired people。 This series has expressed the importance of communicating and that when you try to help others by distancing yourself it won’t work。 Fumino does a wonderful job at expressing emotion in all the characters。 All of the characters are great and so well developed, and I loved that there were moments where we got to see more of the characters past。 It really helped to understand these characters more in how they act and perceive the world。 I absolutely adore this series, and I cannot recommend this series enough。 。。。more

I LAUGHED, I CRIED, I LOVE THIS MANGA SO MUCH! What a wonderful wrap up to this chapter of their story。 I'm so very looking forward to the next though, by what was promised in Fumino-sensei's afterword!! This entire series is focused on communication, and that theme of course carries through out, and how communicating your feelings connects people, and this of continues here。 My heart is full and warm。 I LAUGHED, I CRIED, I LOVE THIS MANGA SO MUCH! 3。75 stars out of 5Ah, it is so nice to see storylines get resolved in satisfactory ways。 After some pushing from some unlikely people, both Kohei and Taichi finally have a much needed conversation about how they are feeling and who they truly are to one another。 Taichi yelling at Kohei over putting himself down, and how he hates that he was doing that to his favourite person in the world, made my heart melt。 That is one hell of a way to declare your love for someone。The rest of the volume saw C 3。75 stars out of 5Ah, it is so nice to see storylines get resolved in satisfactory ways。 After some pushing from some unlikely people, both Kohei and Taichi finally have a much needed conversation about how they are feeling and who they truly are to one another。 Taichi yelling at Kohei over putting himself down, and how he hates that he was doing that to his favourite person in the world, made my heart melt。 That is one hell of a way to declare your love for someone。The rest of the volume saw Chiba reconcile with his brother Ryu, bettering their relationship, and a bunch of fluff between Kohei and Taichi as they finally get to go on that trip they’ve wanted to go on。 I don’t think this volume deserves a full 4 stars, because it is actually quite long and not a lot happened。 There were some great scenes that showed what it is like for people with disabilities in a world that caters to those without and they were pretty solid, but there wasn’t much progression with Taichi and Kohei after they talked things out。 It seems like there is the potential for Fumino to continue this series, which I am totally on board with。Honestly, if you are in to fluffy romances, that do a really great job of illustrating what it means to be hearing impaired in a world full of people who aren’t, then this is the manga series for you。 。。。more

3,5 stars。Sebenarnya sedikit membingungkan dengan urutan manga ini。 Semula saya hanya melihat angka volumenya saja, tapi ternyata ada perbedaan sub judulnya。 Makanya kok bingung dengan urutan kejadian ini dan itunya。 Jadinya baca ulang deh hahaha。。。 alasan belum pengen pisah dari Kohei - Taichi wkwkwk。。。Review lengkap sedang dirampungkan。

Dude I literally can't believe it's come to an end。 I remember so clearly the day I first came across this manga, years ago。 It was a fun ride, and I really liked the conclusion。 I think the author did a good job of wrapping up any loose ends, so that's great! I can't wait to officially collect all the volumes in the future, because it's what this series deserves!
