Summary

"I walk around the school hallways and look at the people。 I look at the teachers and wonder why they're here。 Not in a mean way。 In a curious way。 It's like looking at all the students and wondering who's had their heart broken that day。。。or wondering who did the heart breaking and wondering why。"

Charlie is a freshman。 And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular。 Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it。 Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite。 But Charlie can't stay on the sideline forever。 Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective。 But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor。

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a deeply affecting coming-of-age story that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up。

This book is about a socially awkward teenager who doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere until he is befriended by a group of older teenagers。 The book explores how he changes and learns how to be more confident。 Eventually his friends all leave school but he now has a new outlook on life and although it’s hard for him he will never forget the time he had with those friends and goes about his life completely differently

Un libro intrigante, con una scrittura non proprio facile e leggera da capire

OMGG i loved it。 It was so sad。 the story was very interesting and seeing how the innocences of the main character had developed and broken down quite frequently with a lot of traumatizing moments。 I was left feeling attached to the main character, a comfort character as some may call it, and It left me with a new out look in life。 Love when books are able to make you feel that way。 Anyway, I am not going to lie after I finished reading I immediately went to go see the movie and I strongly belie OMGG i loved it。 It was so sad。 the story was very interesting and seeing how the innocences of the main character had developed and broken down quite frequently with a lot of traumatizing moments。 I was left feeling attached to the main character, a comfort character as some may call it, and It left me with a new out look in life。 Love when books are able to make you feel that way。 Anyway, I am not going to lie after I finished reading I immediately went to go see the movie and I strongly believe the book is better just because there was obviously more details that led me to fall in love with some of the bonds the characters had。 Overall great book! 。。。more

I wanted to like the story, I really did。 There were times it really was sweet- but overall, I was frustrated with the casual mention of several very serious topics。 Suicide, rape, abortion, child molestation, drug use, mental health。 It shows what a different era we are In from when this was published。

I have never felt so dented by a book before。 The perks of being a wallflower made me stare into the blurry pages and reevaluate everything。 I watched the movie prior to the book。 I understand what aunt Helen did to an extent。 The book showed the true and raw reactions Charlie felt toward her in the most subtle and powerful way possible。

Classic coming of age story about friends love and what it's like to be a teenager on the outside。 I loved this book something about it makes you feel a little less alone in a world of crazy。 Classic coming of age story about friends love and what it's like to be a teenager on the outside。 I loved this book something about it makes you feel a little less alone in a world of crazy。 。。。more

The perks of being a wallflower is a book compressed of letters Charlie is writing to a friend about his life, he tells about his life experiences as he sees them。 However, you get a feeling like Charlie is concealing something。 He talks about his visits to psychiatrists but nothing (about his mental disease and the cause) is clearly told until much later in the book。 I loved that it was so real。 The mental health aspects were typically discussed by the characters as they are in our society and The perks of being a wallflower is a book compressed of letters Charlie is writing to a friend about his life, he tells about his life experiences as he sees them。 However, you get a feeling like Charlie is concealing something。 He talks about his visits to psychiatrists but nothing (about his mental disease and the cause) is clearly told until much later in the book。 I loved that it was so real。 The mental health aspects were typically discussed by the characters as they are in our society and that made me like it but also sick。 It had me in tears at a lot of parts。 I had never read a book about ptsd before and after this i think i understand how being in these people's head might feel like。The language was simple, small sentences and easy to breeze through, though, the events were not but i would highly recommend you to read it! 。。。more

really liked the style of letter writing, and I thought it was written simply but with a lot of depth at the same time。 i feel like a lot of people can relate to so many aspects of this novel。

i know a lot of ppl don’t really like when books are written in a different way than the standard form, but i love it。 i think it always adds a different aspect and makes it unique。 i’ve seen the movie before, so i knew what happened, but it was still an amazing book。 i did think that charlie sounded a little younger than his intended age。 i thought this book was beautiful and had a lot of amazing insights and touched on a lot of important topics。 a big focal point of this book was the question i know a lot of ppl don’t really like when books are written in a different way than the standard form, but i love it。 i think it always adds a different aspect and makes it unique。 i’ve seen the movie before, so i knew what happened, but it was still an amazing book。 i did think that charlie sounded a little younger than his intended age。 i thought this book was beautiful and had a lot of amazing insights and touched on a lot of important topics。 a big focal point of this book was the question ‘why?’。 charlie wants to know the ‘why’ about everything。 he’s curious about mundane and boring things。 he’s curious about why things are the way they are。 he’s a very insightful character。 i think i’m just dumb but i still don’t know who he was writing to lol。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book。 I could relate to Charlie as I found high school difficult and different。 But like endless others, we survive those years。 I did not see the ending coming!

ok this one took me on a bit of a ride。 i read it bc it's one of my best friend's favorite books and it was sitting at a 3 star rating for me for a while which was surprising bc we usually have pretty similar taste。 but those last 20 pages or so did it for me。 i think i'd need to reread this bc i'm sure theres a bunch of stuff i missed and i honestly haven't fully grasped the story as a whole yet but the end made me feel,, a lot。 and it made it worth it!! ok this one took me on a bit of a ride。 i read it bc it's one of my best friend's favorite books and it was sitting at a 3 star rating for me for a while which was surprising bc we usually have pretty similar taste。 but those last 20 pages or so did it for me。 i think i'd need to reread this bc i'm sure theres a bunch of stuff i missed and i honestly haven't fully grasped the story as a whole yet but the end made me feel,, a lot。 and it made it worth it!! 。。。more

I loved this book。 It will always be a book I can go back to and connect with the characters。 However, I think that if it were written differently, it could be even more impactful than it already is, and that's why I am not giving it the 5 stars (also bc I feel like I should reserve 5 for books I LOVED with all of my heart lol)。 I loved this book。 It will always be a book I can go back to and connect with the characters。 However, I think that if it were written differently, it could be even more impactful than it already is, and that's why I am not giving it the 5 stars (also bc I feel like I should reserve 5 for books I LOVED with all of my heart lol)。 。。。more
