Summary

Transform your life with tiny changes in behaviour starting now

*The instant New York Times bestseller*
*Financial Times Book of the Month*

People think when you want to change your life, you need to think big。 But world-renowned habits expert James Clear has discovered another way。 He knows that real change comes from the compound effect of hundreds of small decisions – doing two push-ups a day, waking up five minutes early, or holding a single short phone call。

He calls them atomic habits。

In this ground-breaking book, Clears reveals exactly how these minuscule changes can grow into such life-altering outcomes。 He uncovers a handful of simple life hacks (the forgotten art of Habit Stacking, the unexpected power of the Two Minute Rule, or the trick to entering the Goldilocks Zone), and delves into cutting-edge psychology and neuroscience to explain why they matter。 Along the way, he tells inspiring stories of Olympic gold medalists, leading CEOs, and distinguished scientists who have used the science of tiny habits to stay productive, motivated, and happy。

These small changes will have a revolutionary effect on your career, your relationships, and your life。

The book is perfect for the ones who are stuck with bad habits and even for those who want to upgrade their habits。 It tells us the perfect actionable and practical plans to achieve our goals not to mention the science behind habit formation and why we do what we don't really want to do。 My favorite chapter is Goldilock's principle (I hope that's the correct spelling。 I don't really feel like searching this in google。 hehe!! ) which tells us what motivates us in achieving our goals and how to ca The book is perfect for the ones who are stuck with bad habits and even for those who want to upgrade their habits。 It tells us the perfect actionable and practical plans to achieve our goals not to mention the science behind habit formation and why we do what we don't really want to do。 My favorite chapter is Goldilock's principle (I hope that's the correct spelling。 I don't really feel like searching this in google。 hehe!! ) which tells us what motivates us in achieving our goals and how to carefully choose them to not get demotivated during the process。 At some point, this book becomes a little bit technical but that's just my subjective opinion。 Read this book to recognize your unhealthy patterns and change them for good。 Warning: Read this book only if you REALLY want to improve yourself and not to flex in front of everyone(well, I did the same mistake last year!!!)。 Take notes whenever encounter something important。 This book is a jam but it'll be helpful to you only if you actually follow those steps。 。。。more

Such a good book to help you create good habits。 There were some new things I learned and some were extreme, but it works for anyone who wants to make a change in their daily lives。 It's something worth going back to time and time again。 Such a good book to help you create good habits。 There were some new things I learned and some were extreme, but it works for anyone who wants to make a change in their daily lives。 It's something worth going back to time and time again。 。。。more

Atomic habits is one of those books that I picked up and after just the first few words, I knew would click with me。 The power of the 1% will stick with me and i made plenty of post its along the way to rekindle the other helpful words shared。 This was a book I savoured, wanting the words to sink in。 I think from here I need to properly think which habits I want to cultivate and perhaps even get a habit tracker of some sort to help。 Great read。

Lots of practical adviseI found myself taking a lot of notes as many of the strategies presented just made sense。 Reducing the building of habits to a 1% continuous change is manageable。 Most don't think that such a small change can have big impact but based on the many examples given it can be done。 This book had a lot of great information and I highly recommend it for anyone。 We can all be better。 Lots of practical adviseI found myself taking a lot of notes as many of the strategies presented just made sense。 Reducing the building of habits to a 1% continuous change is manageable。 Most don't think that such a small change can have big impact but based on the many examples given it can be done。 This book had a lot of great information and I highly recommend it for anyone。 We can all be better。 。。。more

The first half provided the information I was hoping to learn from this book, which was to use systems and essentially trick my brain into returning to more positive habits。 Like many others, the pandemic wrecked my mental health and as a result, many of my good habits。 The latter sections of the book were too lofty and brimming with stories of successful people。 IDK I don’t care how Steve Martin became famous, I just want to regularly get out of bed before 8am again and move my body more。 Overa The first half provided the information I was hoping to learn from this book, which was to use systems and essentially trick my brain into returning to more positive habits。 Like many others, the pandemic wrecked my mental health and as a result, many of my good habits。 The latter sections of the book were too lofty and brimming with stories of successful people。 IDK I don’t care how Steve Martin became famous, I just want to regularly get out of bed before 8am again and move my body more。 Overall, worth the read for me- check it out from your library or Libby。 。。。more

There are some really great principles in this book。 I need to read it a few times to really let everything sink in。

This is an easy read and well put together。 I finished it within 2 days through the audiobook and if you’ve never read a book on habits then you should find this great read but if you’ve read ‘The Power of habits’ then a lot of this won’t be new

4。5 stars。 This book was great and stood out to me after reading several similarly-themed books over the last couple of year。 Most of all I enjoyed the explanation the author provided for why habits work and what can make them break down。 Really helpful, actionable ideas that I can implement to build lasting habits。

Every once in a while you read a book that completely changes your life and puts all your priorities in order。。。 well this is one of those books。 I really enjoyed the way this book is written and laid out。 It explains all the reasoning on why habits are so important and how to start tracking the habits that will improve your every day life。 I would recommend to anyone who has felt in a bit of a slump ever since the pandemic started and is ready to start making a difference in their life。

Good information on how to make a new habit, but the book was so repetitive and started to really drag。 Once you get the four principles of creating a new habit (and the 4 opposites that help break a bad one) that’s really all there is。 I hoped for more practical ideas & inspiration。

This was my second time reading this book。 I really enjoy systems and habits and this book is so intriguing。 I’ve highlighted it, wrote out so many notes from it and keep learning from it。 And the anecdotes James Clear uses throughout to help you grasp forming habits (good or bad) really help drive home his points。 As I finished the book this morning I wondered how soon would be too soon to read it a third time。

It's a good read with inspiring and actionable methods of making habits stick。 But it's not all that revolutionary。 It's balancing between a 3 and a 4 but I decided to give it a 3 to balance what I think is an unjust high community rating :)。 It's a good read with inspiring and actionable methods of making habits stick。 But it's not all that revolutionary。 It's balancing between a 3 and a 4 but I decided to give it a 3 to balance what I think is an unjust high community rating :)。 。。。more
