Fox in Socks"This Fox is a tricky fox。 He'll try to get your tongue in trouble。" Dr。 Seuss gives fair warning to anyone brave enough to read along with the Fox in Socks, who likes to play tongue-twisting games with his friend Mr。 Knox。 "Here's an easy game to play。 Here's an easy thing to say。。。。 New socks。 Two socks。 Whose socks? Sue's socks。" But Mr。 Fox Socks isn't about to let Knox off so easy。 Soon Goo-Goose is choosing to chew chewy gluey blue goo, while tweetle beetles battle with paddles in a puddle (in case you were wondering, that's called a "tweetle beetle puddle paddle battle")。 Mr。 Knox gets exasperated: "I can't blab such blibber blubber! My tongue isn't made of rubber。" But he catches on to the game before it's all through。 One of Seuss's best, this must-read-aloud classic is guaranteed to get many giggles out of readers young and old。 (Ages 4 to 8) --Paul Hughes

Fox in Socks is a simple story by Dr。 Seuss。 Throughout the book, Dr。 Seuss describes the situations that Fox and Knox find themselves using rhyme。 But, the trouble is that Fox has difficulty with tounge-twisters, many of which are used in describing some of the issues that he experiences。 This book is one of my favorite Dr。 Seuss book perfect for young kids。

Genre: poetryGrade level: 1st-2ndThis book is filled with tongue twisters, alliteration and so much rhyme!! I found it to be a little bit lengthy for this kind of book, but it would be a great read for students to really practice pronunciation。 This is such a classic book that would be a great addition to any classroom。

I love reading this out loud as fast as I can 😂

This may be a children’s book, but it definitely makes you want to keep reading and see if you can make it to the end! 😂 I struggle with the s’s and b’s。

I'm definitely more of a fan of the classics like Green Eggs and Ham and Horton Hears a Who, but this one is great。 This is Dr。 Seuss at his silly, harmless best。 He has a mildly irritating fox who is trying to entertain people with ridiculous tongue twisters。 Despite being written for five year olds, this book will definitely challenge adults who choose to read it aloud。 I'm definitely more of a fan of the classics like Green Eggs and Ham and Horton Hears a Who, but this one is great。 This is Dr。 Seuss at his silly, harmless best。 He has a mildly irritating fox who is trying to entertain people with ridiculous tongue twisters。 Despite being written for five year olds, this book will definitely challenge adults who choose to read it aloud。 。。。more

I love Dr。Seuss books, but this was my first time reading this one! It will be a really good read aloud book for my future class!

I have always enjoyed reading this book。 Not only do I think it can be a good laugh for anyone attempting to read all of the tongue twisters, I think it can be an academic learning experience for children as well。 There is a ton of rhyming throughout the book, which can guide in children who are learning rhyming words。 Also, the tongue twisters get people to think harder about what they are going to say, which helps your brain process and speak what is on the page。 Overall, I think this is a fun I have always enjoyed reading this book。 Not only do I think it can be a good laugh for anyone attempting to read all of the tongue twisters, I think it can be an academic learning experience for children as well。 There is a ton of rhyming throughout the book, which can guide in children who are learning rhyming words。 Also, the tongue twisters get people to think harder about what they are going to say, which helps your brain process and speak what is on the page。 Overall, I think this is a fun book and I think everyone should at least attempt to read this book aloud once in their lives。 。。。more

Another Dr。 Seuss classic, this book is a fan favorite due to the rhyming words and rhythm the book has。 It is not a favorite of mine, it can be hard to read at times but it says in the book that it is。 I would probably never use this book in the classroom because there are better books with plenty of rhyming words。

Whew what a tongue twister 😂

The beetle battle part is fun。 Bin bending Ben’s broom is rough。

Read as a kid。 Tongue twisters! I dare you to read this book aloud without making a mistake!

I forgot how hard some of the tongue twisters are to say out loud! I made a virtual video for my library and it took me 3 tries and I still messed up twice! Oh well。 LOL

Of course, Dr。 Seuss is one of the greatest children's books but this one was not really my favorite。 It is certainly funny listening to someone try to read this book because there are a lot of tongue twisters! As every teacher and school child knows, it's once again time to celebrate that zany, fun, prolific author, the one and only Dr。 Seuss。 My school kicked off our week with crazy socks day, and Fox in Socks, so I read this one with my students。 It reminded me a lot of green eggs and ham with oodles of rhymes, plenty of outlandish scenarios, one character who wants to participate in the fun, and one who very much does not。 This was actually my first time reading this one, and I enjoyed it。 Like, al As every teacher and school child knows, it's once again time to celebrate that zany, fun, prolific author, the one and only Dr。 Seuss。 My school kicked off our week with crazy socks day, and Fox in Socks, so I read this one with my students。 It reminded me a lot of green eggs and ham with oodles of rhymes, plenty of outlandish scenarios, one character who wants to participate in the fun, and one who very much does not。 This was actually my first time reading this one, and I enjoyed it。 Like, all Seuss books, it's a silly, fun read。 My students enjoyed it, for the most part, as well。 They really liked the outlandish illustrations, but the length of the book was a little longer than their attention spans。 Of course, I recommend this one for parents and children, young readers, and classroom bookshelves。 。。。more

Another Seuss classic! Something I remember from my childhood was finding an actual Fox in Sox pair of socks! Those socks actually inspired me to read the funny rhyming story。

Fun book with tongue twisters that get harder as the book progresses。 A good classic Dr。 Seuss book。 A fox that wants Mr。 Knox to try saying different things。 Tried having my 4 year old repeat some of them and some of them were a bit hard but still fun。 I feel like this is a better book for older kids who can repeat better or learning to read on their own。 Perhaps misreads wouldn't be as embarrassing and can be laughed at with the excuse that their tongue was twisted? I'm not sure that Dr。 Seuss books get much more ridiculously great than this one。 There is so much to learn about reading and words for an early reader and so much fun to be had。 We broke the book up into 4 different sessions and I love that my son giggled through the entire Tweetle Beetle Battle during our final read and I thought tackled those words amazingly for a beginner。 I'm not sure that Dr。 Seuss books get much more ridiculously great than this one。 There is so much to learn about reading and words for an early reader and so much fun to be had。 We broke the book up into 4 different sessions and I love that my son giggled through the entire Tweetle Beetle Battle during our final read and I thought tackled those words amazingly for a beginner。 。。。more

I read this book as much to myself as to my children。 Like defeating the bop it, it is a satisfying (albeit tiny) victory。 It becomes quite musical and even meditative, except for the puddle battles, which get a little frantic。 One of my children seemed to resent the fox, who was seen as a ‘show off。。’ but still was not happy about the turn around, when a triumphant Knox ‘really even come close to winning。。’ I think it was the villainous grimace he wore when he declared the of end of the game。 I I read this book as much to myself as to my children。 Like defeating the bop it, it is a satisfying (albeit tiny) victory。 It becomes quite musical and even meditative, except for the puddle battles, which get a little frantic。 One of my children seemed to resent the fox, who was seen as a ‘show off。。’ but still was not happy about the turn around, when a triumphant Knox ‘really even come close to winning。。’ I think it was the villainous grimace he wore when he declared the of end of the game。 I agree, Knox was far too self congratulatory for one who spent most of the book apparently dumbfounded。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This book is about a fox who speaks in rhymed tongue twisters in every sentence。 He is paired with Knox who has trouble keeping up with the tongue twisters and increasingly gets frustrated。 The main characters are the fox, Knox, and a variety of separate species that the fox makes rhymes about。 The illustrations are typical of Dr。 Suess's books。 There is not a real storyline except that Knox increasingly gets more frustrated at the fox and his constant crazy tongue-tied sentences。 I really like This book is about a fox who speaks in rhymed tongue twisters in every sentence。 He is paired with Knox who has trouble keeping up with the tongue twisters and increasingly gets frustrated。 The main characters are the fox, Knox, and a variety of separate species that the fox makes rhymes about。 The illustrations are typical of Dr。 Suess's books。 There is not a real storyline except that Knox increasingly gets more frustrated at the fox and his constant crazy tongue-tied sentences。 I really like this books for a fun read-aloud in class and a brain break for the kids。 These books could also be used to teach alliterations and tongue twisters。 。。。more
