If ever I needed confirmation that Edward is a obsessive, possessive, arrogant cretin, here it is。

Though I enjoyed have a different narrator I just didn’t want to finish it

This was a bit of a slog to get through。 Not only is this book thick enough to be classified as a weapon, but Edward is A Lot。 Honestly, if it weren’t for Bella actually getting a personality and a few moments of absolute hilarity in trying to take itself too seriously, I don’t think I would have been able to finish it。 Unfortunately, those moments are few and far between until right before the meadow, then it sort of just ramps up in absurdity that had me cackling most of the way to the end。

Mira que me da coraje hacer esto pero。。。 abandono total, vaya tostón de Edward autocompadeciéndose todo el rato señor。。。 No puedo con este libro。

Not my favorite; was a slow read and just never really picked up or got my attention。 I read it but took a while!

I was absolutely shocked at how much I enjoyed this。 It is way, wayyy better than Twilight。 The writing is better, the characters are more rounded。 And I fell in love with the related again without being irritated by Bella's "plainness" I recommend whether you read the original saga or not。 I was absolutely shocked at how much I enjoyed this。 It is way, wayyy better than Twilight。 The writing is better, the characters are more rounded。 And I fell in love with the related again without being irritated by Bella's "plainness" I recommend whether you read the original saga or not。 。。。more

I managed to get to the epilogue and gave up。 Honestly, I'm surprised (and slightly annoyed) I got even that far。I adored Twilight ten years ago, but I haven't re-read it since then。 I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fit my reading preferences anymore。 Knowing that, I shouldn't have picked up Midnight Sun, I suppose。 I honestly thought the nostalgia would make the experience enjoyable。 Nope, it did not。 I don't even have the strength to list the specific reasons why。 There are too many。Personally, I d I managed to get to the epilogue and gave up。 Honestly, I'm surprised (and slightly annoyed) I got even that far。I adored Twilight ten years ago, but I haven't re-read it since then。 I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fit my reading preferences anymore。 Knowing that, I shouldn't have picked up Midnight Sun, I suppose。 I honestly thought the nostalgia would make the experience enjoyable。 Nope, it did not。 I don't even have the strength to list the specific reasons why。 There are too many。Personally, I don't understand the appeal of having this kind of story told from the point of view of a character who is that anxious and self-hating。 To those who never experienced it, it must be unrealistic and grading。 To those that use or used reading as an escape from their own oppressive minds, this can't be enjoyable in the "relatable" way。 Edward, mate, just go to therapy。I guess I ship Bella, Alice and Jasper as a thruple now? I'm confused。。。14-04-2021: did not finish (~95%) 。。。more

I actually quite enjoyed this retelling of twilight。 I LOVED seeing more of the cullens and seeing bella through Edwards eyes, but my god it was so slow! So much internal monologue Christ

I have two friends who love the Twilight books, and so I tried this but listen。 The audiobook is 26 hours long。 I can’t spend more than one full day listening to this repressed yet constantly, oppressively, horny book。 I just don’t have it in me。

An eloquent love letter for all of us Twilight fans out there。 The perfect ending to the series!

(2。75) Another generous 3-star。 There were elements I kinda liked? I wanted to know more about the Cullens’ past。 I feel like the author teases you with it but never dives into it。 Aside from that, for someone who should extremely mature, Edward sounds like an insecure high school kid。 Hated a lot of his commentary。 I probably would have liked this more than Twilight 10 years ago。 Overall, would not recommend and will probably never pick up this series ever again。

I really enjoyed the added dimension of Edward's perspective to this story。 And there were a lot of things I learned that I had never even thought about。 I loved it! I want more from Edward's perspective。 Stephenie, please, give us New Moon now! I feel like if you really loved twilight and have always wondered what Edward was think this is the book for you。 I honestly hope that there is more books cause it’s so interesting to see Edwards side of the story。

Twilight Fans: Many of you will love this long-awaited book。 I’m a Twilight fan and really enjoyed reading the story from Edward’s perspective, but now like Edward a lot less。 In this tome, he comes across as arrogant and jealous and seems more interested in protecting Bella than learning to appreciate her as a unique individual。 Bella is regularly portrayed as a weak, clumsy girl。 The three stars is because the book could’ve easily been 2/3 of its length。 Edward’s conflict over Bella as a human Twilight Fans: Many of you will love this long-awaited book。 I’m a Twilight fan and really enjoyed reading the story from Edward’s perspective, but now like Edward a lot less。 In this tome, he comes across as arrogant and jealous and seems more interested in protecting Bella than learning to appreciate her as a unique individual。 Bella is regularly portrayed as a weak, clumsy girl。 The three stars is because the book could’ve easily been 2/3 of its length。 Edward’s conflict over Bella as a human and how much he doesn’t want to turn her and his obsession with guaranteeing her safety from his uncontrollable vampire desire to kill her is repeated to ad nauseam。 。。。more

I loved this book! The only reason it’s not five stars is because I think I read it too soon after reading the other ones and watching all the movies。。。and so it took a while to actually read it。 If you haven’t read Twilight in a while and want a little refresher this is a great book!!

I really wanted to like this book as I loved reading the Twilight series。 It just felt like the author was trying to prove herself as a more mature writer since having written the original series。 It felt like she forgot who Edward was and made him very self-absorbed。 And。。。the book was about 400 pages too long。 I honestly don’t know how she could get away with ranting on with the same repeated thoughts he had in his head。 Sigh。。。at least we still have the originals。

I liked this one considerably more than the first three in the series。 I’m not sure if it’s because I preferred Edward’s perspective or Meyer’s writing substantially improved over the years。 I suspect it’s both。 I had moments of thinking Midnight could be a 4 star read, but quickly settled on a 3。 Like many YA authors who write super long books, Meyer falls into the pattern of continually rehashing ideas and emotions of the characters。 For example, Edward constantly mentions how he hopes Bella w I liked this one considerably more than the first three in the series。 I’m not sure if it’s because I preferred Edward’s perspective or Meyer’s writing substantially improved over the years。 I suspect it’s both。 I had moments of thinking Midnight could be a 4 star read, but quickly settled on a 3。 Like many YA authors who write super long books, Meyer falls into the pattern of continually rehashing ideas and emotions of the characters。 For example, Edward constantly mentions how he hopes Bella will choose to leave him for her own good, yet she never does。 This idea is repeated over and over throughout。 This habit proved to make this super long book feel just that: super long。 And while I did enjoy parts of the novel a lot, particularly when James got involved, I was ready for it to be over long before the book actually ended。 。。。more

Also, with my OCD, it was so very relaxing and rewarding to read this alternating chapters with Twilight so I could get the full view。 I know it won’t happen, but if I could get the whole series written with companion Edward POV, I would buy the whole series over (and read them again) each time in thanks。 It’s the little things that bring such pure joy。 。。。more

I gave this book a 2 only because i felt like it dragged out a bit and Bella’s dialogue drove me up the wall。 I did however enjoy the backstory of the cullens and Edward。 However, i did find the writing to be a little scatter-brained

Ok so I didn't actually finish reading this book, but this is the rating I'd give it at the moment。 My 13 year old self is mad that we didn't finish it, so I indulged her with 2 stars instead of 1。 Edward is honestly soooooo whiney and melodramatic that it was hard to keep listening to his inner monologue。 I listened to the audiobook and made it through about 9 of the 25 hours。 I was also bummed that R Pattz didn't grace us with his narration。 With that being said, even though a movie version wo Ok so I didn't actually finish reading this book, but this is the rating I'd give it at the moment。 My 13 year old self is mad that we didn't finish it, so I indulged her with 2 stars instead of 1。 Edward is honestly soooooo whiney and melodramatic that it was hard to keep listening to his inner monologue。 I listened to the audiobook and made it through about 9 of the 25 hours。 I was also bummed that R Pattz didn't grace us with his narration。 With that being said, even though a movie version wouldn't be much different than Twilight, if they made one I would go to the midnight premiere。 。。。more

I didn't really care for this, with the caveat that I am likely not the target demographic for this book。 I missed the earlier Twilight hype a decade or so ago, but am always curious about any cultural phenomenon that really lingers, so I decided to give this a go。 It's an awful lot of staring and watching people sleep, plus some abysmal parenting, plus your typical overwrought teen romance (obsession?)。 I didn't really care for this, with the caveat that I am likely not the target demographic for this book。 I missed the earlier Twilight hype a decade or so ago, but am always curious about any cultural phenomenon that really lingers, so I decided to give this a go。 It's an awful lot of staring and watching people sleep, plus some abysmal parenting, plus your typical overwrought teen romance (obsession?)。 。。。more

This book dragged on longer than Edward's life。I see the reasoning and it was a great opportunity to get to know Edward more but there were too many of his thoughts and I got bored。 I'm surprised I even made it to the end。I loved the twilight books but this just wasn't really needed。 This book dragged on longer than Edward's life。I see the reasoning and it was a great opportunity to get to know Edward more but there were too many of his thoughts and I got bored。 I'm surprised I even made it to the end。I loved the twilight books but this just wasn't really needed。 。。。more

This book ruined my childhood memories of Edward。。 he is creepy。 And Bella is not a great example of a strong woman。 This was a long and hard book to get through。

Nice to have another side of the main story。 I would read more with this POV。
