I love the atmosphere this book creates， having a mysterious monster haunting the castle corridors and the heir of Slytherin opening the Chamber of Secrets。 It is also quite remarkable that already in the second book of the series the parallels between Harry and Voldemort are outlined but that， ultimately， they do not define Harry - his choices do。 And there is also Gilderoy Lockhard， what else do you want。

I always forget how short the first few books are。 Story is still enjoyable and the drawings really add some atmosphere to the book

Chamber of Secrets is almost always everyone's least favourite book and movie and while I do agree that it is not the best I can't deny my love for the book。 I have only read it twice but I was so excited to read it a second time as I don't know what it is but something about this book makes me so happy。 It may simply be the scene at the Weasley's after Harry got rescued from the Dursley's or maybe how sassy Harry was with Colin Creevy and Lockhart。 I think it was probably both and much more but Chamber of Secrets is almost always everyone's least favourite book and movie and while I do agree that it is not the best I can't deny my love for the book。 I have only read it twice but I was so excited to read it a second time as I don't know what it is but something about this book makes me so happy。 It may simply be the scene at the Weasley's after Harry got rescued from the Dursley's or maybe how sassy Harry was with Colin Creevy and Lockhart。 I think it was probably both and much more but now that I think about it Harry did start to become very sassy during this book and it was hilarious to read and I loved being able to see him grow more comfortable within Hogwarts。 Side note， I also was not a big fan of Dobby in the movies and wondered why people adored him so much since I found him so annoying but after reading Chamber of Secrets I grew a new liking for him and it only got bigger as I continued on with the series。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 The second book in the series is just as captivating as the first。 with a slightly darker tone， this book is full of action， mystery， and creativity。 I enjoyed the book much more than the movie adaptation。 I love that Ginny has a big part in this story as the one possessed by Tom Riddle through his diary， it was certainly a surprise my first time reading。 This book made me fall more deeply in love with the story and the characters。
