If you are in the frame of mind whereby you need to read a book such as this, the chances are the over-simplification of his ideas are quite preferable in getting your racing mind to focus。 I agree with a few of the reviewers in that his ideas are quite shallow but you must bear in mind it wasn't very long ago he was being pushed around in a pram。 Sometimes, simplification is exactly what one needs。I still have a certain resistance to his whole ego thing, but, if you can see past that, I feel Ve If you are in the frame of mind whereby you need to read a book such as this, the chances are the over-simplification of his ideas are quite preferable in getting your racing mind to focus。 I agree with a few of the reviewers in that his ideas are quite shallow but you must bear in mind it wasn't very long ago he was being pushed around in a pram。 Sometimes, simplification is exactly what one needs。I still have a certain resistance to his whole ego thing, but, if you can see past that, I feel Vex's wisdom extends far beyond his years。 4/5。 。。。more

Wow! I’m surprised the phrases “don’t stick a fork in a toaster” or “don’t forget to look both ways before crossing the road” didn’t come in to this book - a very long winded and sometimes patronising outlook on life which ends in being given an analogy of a football finding it’s purpose by being kicked in the air

Some nice quotes but nothing profound。 I finished it more out of obligation and hoping it would get better。 Reads more like an Instagram opportunity rather than life changing stuff。

I wish if everyone could read this peaceful book。

I did not finish this book。 I didn't see a point。 I'm sure this is a fantastic introductory book for the LOA, but for someone (this isn't meant to be patronizing) who is already familiar with the concept, it probably won't give you any new foresights。 You can tell it is written to be instagrammable and aesthetically pleasing, but that is not what I look for in a book。 I think a better, more valuable intro to the LOA, manifesting, vibrations, etc。 is The Secret。 Better books include, Man's Search I did not finish this book。 I didn't see a point。 I'm sure this is a fantastic introductory book for the LOA, but for someone (this isn't meant to be patronizing) who is already familiar with the concept, it probably won't give you any new foresights。 You can tell it is written to be instagrammable and aesthetically pleasing, but that is not what I look for in a book。 I think a better, more valuable intro to the LOA, manifesting, vibrations, etc。 is The Secret。 Better books include, Man's Search for Meaning, The Four Agreements, and so on。 I'm sure this book will have worth to a large audience but if you are already familiar with the LOA don't waste your time unless you just want it because it will look pretty on your shelf。 。。。more

Very good。 Will be recommending。 Only gripe with it is that it tells you alot of things you can do to improve your life but no necessarily how to do them, other than that I really enjoyed and found it very easy to read。

* I read the paperback edition of this book and this page count was the closest to the physical edition I had so I went with this one。This book is the best non-fiction/self-help book I’ve ever read - I haven’t read many because I always found them daunting but GV,GL is so easy to read and understand and there are so many good quotes throughout。I related to many of the situations used throughout and picked up so many good tips and tricks for how to lead a more positive life where I focus on my ow * I read the paperback edition of this book and this page count was the closest to the physical edition I had so I went with this one。This book is the best non-fiction/self-help book I’ve ever read - I haven’t read many because I always found them daunting but GV,GL is so easy to read and understand and there are so many good quotes throughout。I related to many of the situations used throughout and picked up so many good tips and tricks for how to lead a more positive life where I focus on my own happiness and well-being。 There were so many useful tips on how to get over things which have happened in the past and the use of real life situations helped me see how I can tackle my thoughts and emotions from the past and use them to better my future。I highly recommend everyone reads GV,GL - I’m pretty sure everyone can take something away from it。 It’s easy to read and understand and handy to pick up now and then when you need advice or guidance。 5* ☺️ 。。。more

Actual rating: 3。5 starsI would like to say I’m grateful for this book on giving me insight, great advices, and a reminder to be present and accomplish my goals little by little。It was a light read, lots of good quotes, and relatable。 I definitely jotted down the advices to go over and implement in my daily life, such as mediation。

This book was so amazing。 It taught me to get new friends with a higher calling, it also taught me to make me a priority in a world that puts so much pressure on women to do so much for others。

Life changing。 If you want to or have started your journey to self-love, this book will give you a great foundation。

This is what I learnt from the book:(1) The good, the bad and the ugly events are all a part of who I have become。(2) We cannot define where greatness begins or ends。 We can only strive to become better。(3) Stop trying to impress people。 Impress yourself, stretch yourself, test yourself。 Be your best version。 Outdoing yourself is your daily task。 You are competing with your version of yesterday。(4) Self-love is all about first accepting yourself unconditionally and then making positive changes t This is what I learnt from the book:(1) The good, the bad and the ugly events are all a part of who I have become。(2) We cannot define where greatness begins or ends。 We can only strive to become better。(3) Stop trying to impress people。 Impress yourself, stretch yourself, test yourself。 Be your best version。 Outdoing yourself is your daily task。 You are competing with your version of yesterday。(4) Self-love is all about first accepting yourself unconditionally and then making positive changes to become even better。 Same way, you can love any of your family members - accept them unconditionally, and encourage them to be even better。(5) The vibrations we put out, are always pulling in stuff that is vibrating at a similar frequency - just like tuning into a radio station。 So, if you consciously start feeling joyful, you will attract more of it。 The common misconception is that you will start feeling good only once you have what you want。 The truth is that you can feel good right now, and also attract more of it。(6) Staying around positive people, when you are down, is an excellent antidote to absorb some of their positive energy, then start radiating that positive energy yourself and thus attracting more of it from the universe。 It is much easier to see the good in life when you are around positive people。(7) Smile more often。 Even if you fake a smile, you can trick your brain into thinking that you are happy, and thereby releasing feel-good hormones called endorphins, which make you feel better in return。(8) Most judgments start from hatred, which is a low vibrational state。 It only leads to attracting unpleasant experiences in our life。(9) Greatness starts with being grateful。 In order to truly feel grateful towards any particular thing, imagine your life in its absence, as deep as you can think, and you will soon realize how grateful you truly have been。(10) Meditation is easy。 It is all about listening to life - breath, sounds, colors around us at this very moment。(11) Your longest relationship in life is with your own self。 If you can manage this relationship well, give it the importance it deserves, can you manage other relationships well。(12) If someone says that they are hurt by your actions, then you must believe what they are saying rather than ignore their viewpoint just because you did not feel anything hurting in what you said。 It's because you have violated their personal values。 Accepting that they are hurt will change your behavior to empathy。(13) All relationships require work。 They require tremendous understanding and endless communication。 In spite of all this, they can be very challenging。 None of us is perfect。 So, no relationship is perfect。(14) You will know that it is your soul talking to you when you arrive at the answer without going through the reasoning process。 (15) Everyone's perspective, including our own, is limited and subjective。 It is based on what we gather and process from all around us。 So, be open to learning a new perspective every time you meet someone。(16) There is no way you can avoid negativity in your life。 The more people you are connected with, the more negativity would be thrown at you。 But no one can hurt you without your permission。 The best response to negativity thrown at you is silence and joy。 This will make the haters feel that they are banging against a wall that does not respond。 They will hurt themselves and refrain after some time。[Recommended Book: Happiness Unlimited](17) You cannot please everyone, neither you should even attempt it。 Do not be too harsh on yourself。(18) Your purpose is not to be in a job you dislike for the rest of your life。 Harmful workplaces push us into an unhealthy mental state, leading to an unhealthy physical state。(19) You won't be important to all the people all the time, and that's why you have to be important to yourself。 Learn to enjoy your own company。 (20) You have done things some people said you could never do。 You have also done things even you thought you may never be able to do。 Appreciate yourself。 Pat yourself。 Go out and celebrate。(21) Either way, you are going to be judged, whether you live your life on your own terms, or other people's。(22) Embrace your uniqueness。 Are you considered weird? Awesome。(23) Forgive yourself for all the bad decisions you made, for the lack of belief, for hurting others and yourself。 Forgive yourself for everything。 Important is to move forward with a better mindset。(24) You cannot expect others to be kind to you if you are not kind to yourself。 (25) When you forgive people for past mistakes, you cannot, and do not improve the past。 You improve your present and future by creating positive vibes。 Forgiving someone is for your better life。(26) You cannot move forward with the thoughts that hold you back。(27) Once you mute the noise of the world, you would realize that there is nothing that you cannot do。(28) If you cannot change the situation, change your perception of it。 That is where your personal power is。 Take charge。(29) Your job is not to get rid of negative events or negative thoughts - you cannot。 Rather, your job is to improve your response to these events and thoughts。[Recommended Book: Happiness Unlimited](30) Just one positive thought early in the day can produce a significantly different outcome by the end of the day。 This is in line with the butterfly effect where butterfly flapping can cause minute weather changes, which, over time, can have a significant impact on the weather far away。(31) Repeating affirmations is like feeding coding instructions to your subconscious mind。 Once the code is fed in, then the subconscious mind will run them automatically, and do anything to fructify the instructions。(32) Things are easier when you are in the mood to do them。 But if you are looking for a greater life, you have to commit yourself to the same effort even when you are not in the mood。 Commitment to your dreams, therefore, is the greatest virtue。[Recommended Book: Dream On](33) Achievement of goals leads to the release of happy hormones in the body - one of which is dopamine。 If you break up a bigger goal into smaller ones, then more goals are achieved as a natural bi-product of the bigger goal, leading to more dopamine release, which is good for you。(34) One glass of alcohol usually costs more than a book。 Which one is more likely to change your life? People usually invest in the wrong places。[Recommended Blogpost: Why should you read books like mad?](35) Just because you cannot see the point behind a challenging time does not mean there isn't one。 The past cannot be changed, but our perception of the same can be。 This belief in a good reason behind everything allows us to have a positive perspective of the past, and therefore allows us to build a positive future。(36) Some of the best changes in life result from some of the most painful experiences。 Pain is good。(37) When you are praying for a situation to change, remember that you are in that situation so that you can change。 Everything is connected。 Everything has a reason。[Recommended Book: A Father's Diary](38) Working 5 days a week to search for those 'free' 2 days is such a waste of life。 A greater life of purpose is definitely possible。[Recommended Book: From the Rat Race to Financial Freedom](39) Chase your excitement without any conditions。 You don't need to justify what you are doing if you are excited about it。 You just have to do it。 If you follow your excitement, the universe will throw more exciting things at you。 Eventually, your excitement will turn into your profession。(40) Make money to assist you, not to complete you。(41) There is unlimited money available。 Limitation, thus, is a product of your mind。 。。。more

After several rounds of CBT and a lot of study about anxiety this book didn't teach me anything I didn't already know and it's a bit typical self help book in places。 I also found some of the examples to be vague, but it was nice to see some of the ideas that I have thought of myself in writing and I enjoyed the references to scientific studies and philosophers。 Wouldn't recommend to those who have gotten used to being anxious people, but can imagine it would be a great read for people who feel After several rounds of CBT and a lot of study about anxiety this book didn't teach me anything I didn't already know and it's a bit typical self help book in places。 I also found some of the examples to be vague, but it was nice to see some of the ideas that I have thought of myself in writing and I enjoyed the references to scientific studies and philosophers。 Wouldn't recommend to those who have gotten used to being anxious people, but can imagine it would be a great read for people who feel that they are losing control and are looking for purpose。 。。。more

This was so bad that I wished I hadn't read it。 So much trite and boring advice along the lines of "think positive" and "be happy。" Some examples lines from the book include "When we commit our energy to poverty, we manifest poverty。" and "Money flows to those who believe they deserve it and can attain it。" This was so bad that I wished I hadn't read it。 So much trite and boring advice along the lines of "think positive" and "be happy。" Some examples lines from the book include "When we commit our energy to poverty, we manifest poverty。" and "Money flows to those who believe they deserve it and can attain it。" 。。。more

I tend not to enjoy self-help and wellness books, and this one was no exception。 The equivalent of being dragged to a yoga class by your spiritual Instagram influencer friend, I found a few meaningful moments and did post a few quotes on my story (which is what I believe this book was designed for) however it says a lot without saying much at all and did warrant an eye roll or two as I progressed through its pages。 Easy to read and a bit shallow but nice to pass the time (a bit like dating one o I tend not to enjoy self-help and wellness books, and this one was no exception。 The equivalent of being dragged to a yoga class by your spiritual Instagram influencer friend, I found a few meaningful moments and did post a few quotes on my story (which is what I believe this book was designed for) however it says a lot without saying much at all and did warrant an eye roll or two as I progressed through its pages。 Easy to read and a bit shallow but nice to pass the time (a bit like dating one of those aforementioned Instagram influencers) 3/5 stars 。。。more

Bought this book out of curiosity and I never knew I needed it until I finally read it。 Definitely something to keep and would re-read in the future。 It will make you think about your current situation and what you need to do to for improvement。 I suggest reading it per chapter to let the ideas sink in before moving on to the next。 :)
