Heel fijn zoekboek met verhaal, met verschillende werelden。

So much to look at。 I’m reminded of how much time I would spend on Richard Scarry books。

Anyone who has gone on an adventure searching for a lost beloved toy will appreciate this story。 Beautifully illustrated with a dozen sub stories, kids and parents alike will be enchanted with the subtle storytelling infusing each page。 As a bonus, many of the landscapes remind me of real life travels in Alaska, Europe and California。 Enjoy!

This picture book is a visual feast。 It is both a semi-dramatic telling of a family of bunnies looking for their lost toy, as well as a natural exploration of the world around them and a look and find for the always one-step-ahead toy。 Readers will be able to pour over the pages and find something new with each read。 Due to the immense detail this is not a good option for storytime but would be an excellent one-on-one read。

The storyline is simple, but relatable for a child。 A toy is lost and we have to go on an adventure to find it。 The illustration in this book is top notch。 The text is simple and guides the experience, which is perfect so as to not distract and steal the show from the artwork。 I could look at this book for hours。 The detail is incredible and an absolute delight to take in。 Kids love finding the various hidden characters etc。

An adorable book for the whole family to explore together。 Bunny has lost Little (rubber) Duck in the river, and off we go to retrieve it。 Every double-page spread shows a different type of landscape, following the river from its glacier spring up in the high mountains to the wide open ocean。 Diorama included at the end。 There are lots of loveable, quirky creatures for us to make friends with: from Chuck the helpful rollerblading chicken to Laura the fishing sheep。 The book contains very little An adorable book for the whole family to explore together。 Bunny has lost Little (rubber) Duck in the river, and off we go to retrieve it。 Every double-page spread shows a different type of landscape, following the river from its glacier spring up in the high mountains to the wide open ocean。 Diorama included at the end。 There are lots of loveable, quirky creatures for us to make friends with: from Chuck the helpful rollerblading chicken to Laura the fishing sheep。 The book contains very little text, but the story tells itself if you'll just take the time to look。The drawings are gorgeous, with plenty of entertaining details to discover, share, and talk about。 Great for children's language development, and relaxing for stressed adults to get lost in。 Truly a memorable experience。 I would give this book 100 stars if I could。 。。。more

Had a fun time watching all the stories。 Who cares about the rubber duck - the other stories were much more fun。

Beautiful pictures full of life and things to see without appearing too overwhelming or busy。 The page in the front with all different things to look for stressed me out a little bit because I wanted to find them all on every page but kept forgetting what was what。 Obviously, this book is made for re-reads instead of this method though :)

After a glorious waterfall, the scene moves to a medieval town and European castles。 Then a factory appears, pumping steam and water。 Rain starts and the river slows to explore small islands。 Windmills and tulips appear until a harbor is reached with a broad sea。 Finally the toy is caught again。 But what other stories did you see along the way? This thoroughly Dutch picture book is a very entertaining seek-and-find book that is complicated and funny。 Readers will need to lean in closely and read the book multiple times to follow all of the clever story arcs contained in the book。 Nicely, Weightman outlines some of the ones to watch for in introductory pages。The book does have words, but they are nearly unnecessary as the real star of the book are the incredibly detailed landscapes filled with foxes, rabbits, bears, pigs, and lots of other animals。 Throughout the action, there are lovely moments of blissful floating, meeting new people, and a strong sense of a large community together。An exceptional seek-and-find book with a European flair。 Appropriate for ages 4-6。 。。。more

This book was really fun, and honestly I didn't really pay attention to the actual text。 I was too busy looking at the pictures and trying to find all the animals from the front of the book。 There is a very suspicious animal on one of the pages that looks like he is peeing on a bush。。。 he could have at least gone behind the bush? This is a nice picture book, but because of all the rave reviews, I was expecting more。 It's creative and appealing, with lots of big, intricate illustrations, but I found it overwhelming and busy, and it was too light on story for my taste。 This will appeal to children and adults who like to pore over complex, crowded illustrations to notice small details and make up stories about what is happening, but it's not as gripping as I had hoped that it would be。 This is a nice picture book, but because of all the rave reviews, I was expecting more。 It's creative and appealing, with lots of big, intricate illustrations, but I found it overwhelming and busy, and it was too light on story for my taste。 This will appeal to children and adults who like to pore over complex, crowded illustrations to notice small details and make up stories about what is happening, but it's not as gripping as I had hoped that it would be。 。。。more

My 4 year old and I absolutely loved this book。 The story is simple (brothers following a ducky down the river) but the illustrations are gorgeous as they move from the alpine mountain tops, through towns and villages, and then finally to the sea。 Each page is packed with details to explore, including the same characters doing silly things in the background。 We are definitely looking forward to reading it again。

Reminiscent of Richard Scarry's illustrations and anthropomorphized animals, crossed with a Where's Waldo/I Spy feel, this story is a cute animal story of lost and found。 With tons of details to seek and follow, along with cute little pictorial jokes (my fave is when Little Duck is in the row of swans across one spread)。 The open ending gives readers a place to use their imagination to think of their own adventures that little duck and Bunny might go on next! Do your kids love seek-and-find books? Especially seek-and-find books that first and foremost tell a story, but have an added element of seeking and finding along the way? If your children are like mine, and your answers to those questions were "Yes!" then you definitely need to check out All Along the River by Magnus Weightman。⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Weightman's story opens with Bunny playing with her rubber duck by a river, while her family looks on from the house, when all of the sudden Little Duck floats away! Never fear, Bunny's big brothers come running to help, hopping straight into their boat in order to get Little Duck "before she's gone forever!" The three bunnies journey around bends, into forests, through farmlands, amidst the hubbub of big cities, and more。。。 And if you stick with them until the end, you're in for quite a surprise!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Okay, story aside, let's talk about the delightful sibling relationship here! Always on the lookout for books that model positive sibling relationships, I love the fact that Bunny's big brothers jump to action without hesitation to help her rescue her rubber ducky as it floats down the river。 They stick with her throughout the entire journey, understanding how important Little Duck is to her and doing whatever it takes to help rescue her。 They're wonderful models of helpful, understanding, and patient big siblings。
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Finally, these illustrations deserve attention of their own。 Full of color, excitement, and hilarious details, these just beg to be pored over through many, many rereads。 My girls love following the secondary characters' adventures on each page (especially the fishing lamb)。 Be sure to spend time with the endpapers。。。 They add to the storyline while also presenting you with the aforementioned element of surprise!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀A big thank you to Clavis Publishing for sharing this book with our family in exchange for an honest review。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 。。。more

A delightful children’s book with a simple, fun story。 Little duck has gone missing and Bunny and her brothers, Peter and Bob jump in their boat and go on a little adventure while on their search。 I adored the beautiful illustrations and I can imagine a child poring over them with curiosity, searching for Little Duck。 Thank you to Magnus Weightman, Net Galley and Clavis Publishing for and ARC in exchange for an honest review。

Bunny‘s rubber duck has sailed down the river, so Bunny and her two brothers start a pursuit to get her back。 Each page is a new part of the river, and the rubber duck can be found on each one。 Even better, the book opens with a page on all the main characters, describing them with one sentence and then giving a hint as to what to watch out for。 This keeps children engaged even once they can find the rubber duck in their sleep。 A lovely, charming picture book。
