Summary

The bestselling business classic on the power of relationships, updated with in-depth advice for making connections in the digital world

'Don't walk 。 。 。 RUN to your closest bookstore。 The most extraordinary and valuable book I've come across in a long, long time' Tom Peters

Do you want to get ahead in life? Climb the ladder to success?

Master networker Keith Ferrazzi says the secret is in reaching out to others。 As he discovered early in life, what distinguishes highly successful people is the way they use the power of relationships - so that everyone wins。

Never Eat Alone: Expanded and Updated lays out the steps and mindset Ferrazzi uses to connect with thousands of colleagues, friends, and associates: people he has helped and who have helped him。 This form of connecting to the world is based on generosity; Ferrazzi distinguishes genuine relationship-building from crude glad-handing。

These practical, proven principles include: don't keep score (make sure other people get what they want, too); 'ping' constantly (reach out to your contacts all the time - not just when you need something); never eat alone ('invisibility' is a fate worse than failure); and become the 'king of content' (use social media to make meaningful connections)。

In this classic, global bestseller you'll discover the timeless strategies used by the world's most connected people, from Bill Clinton to the Dalai Lama。 And you'll learn how to transform your own network, career and life。

'A step-by-step way to build relationships with anyone。 The tone is engaging and the advice practical' New York Times

'Cleverly mixes anecdotes with cogent advice and suggests concrete steps readers can take toward improvement' USA Today

Keith Ferrazzi is the founder and CEO of the training and consulting company Ferrazzi Greenlight and a contributor to Inc。, the Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business Review。 Earlier in his career, he was the CMO of Deloitte Consulting and of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and the CEO of YaYa Media。 He lives in Los Angeles。

I appreciate all tips and precious experiences of Ferrazzi, a politic businessman。 The book provides a great mindset of relationship。 Ask to help before ask for help。 I keep repeat this in my mind alot and try to be nice with my current close relationship (friends, college,。。。) and help them without being asked。 This not only helps my relationship but also give away and spread kindness from my heart, which makes me feel happy, meaningful and peace in life。However, i am sure that not everyone can I appreciate all tips and precious experiences of Ferrazzi, a politic businessman。 The book provides a great mindset of relationship。 Ask to help before ask for help。 I keep repeat this in my mind alot and try to be nice with my current close relationship (friends, college,。。。) and help them without being asked。 This not only helps my relationship but also give away and spread kindness from my heart, which makes me feel happy, meaningful and peace in life。However, i am sure that not everyone can apply all his tips and guidance, because we are all different。 Everyone of us has significant characteristics and interests, also hidden or shining charm。 I do believe that it would be the best if we know our strength and weakness in communication and building relationship, take Ferrazzi's advice as a reference and practice, test, choose the way we are comfortable with and make it your style。 Quality of relationship is always outweigh quantity。 。。。more

If you can get past his ego and somehow believe his approach is genuine and not manipulative, it's got a lot of great recommendations for building relationships and a network。 It's the closest thing to How to Win Friends that I have read。 It's slightly dated now as it was written before Facebook and LinkedIn took off, so I wonder to what degree some of his approach would change。 It's worth a read for anyone that understands the value in building a vast network and connections。 For those that mak If you can get past his ego and somehow believe his approach is genuine and not manipulative, it's got a lot of great recommendations for building relationships and a network。 It's the closest thing to How to Win Friends that I have read。 It's slightly dated now as it was written before Facebook and LinkedIn took off, so I wonder to what degree some of his approach would change。 It's worth a read for anyone that understands the value in building a vast network and connections。 For those that makes it to the very end of the book, I do get the sense that he has reflected on his early years and it softens his brashness from before。 If only he had somehow managed to flip the book and start there, then go into his self aggrandisement。 。。。more

This book was a mixed bag for me some of the general ideas are solid but I'd agree with other reviewers that it felt like the author was just bragging about himself and quiet frankly a lot of it doesn't seem realistic unless your life is business and climbing the ladder。 I'll take a few ideas from it but leave a lot of it。 This book was a mixed bag for me some of the general ideas are solid but I'd agree with other reviewers that it felt like the author was just bragging about himself and quiet frankly a lot of it doesn't seem realistic unless your life is business and climbing the ladder。 I'll take a few ideas from it but leave a lot of it。 。。。more

Overly prescriptive and a bit of a personal bragging session, but useful for understanding the techne and tools of building large professional networks from a practitioner。

So super good。 I loved the overall message that i gleaned: to become solid friends with people, serve them and let them serve you (and don’t keep a scorecard of all that service), because love and friends and service beget more service, love, and friends and helps everyone network the best way possible for any situation or circumstance。 A lot of the detailed how-tos in the middle don’t apply to me anymore since I’m a full time stay at home mom, but I worked professionally long enough before beco So super good。 I loved the overall message that i gleaned: to become solid friends with people, serve them and let them serve you (and don’t keep a scorecard of all that service), because love and friends and service beget more service, love, and friends and helps everyone network the best way possible for any situation or circumstance。 A lot of the detailed how-tos in the middle don’t apply to me anymore since I’m a full time stay at home mom, but I worked professionally long enough before becoming a mom to appreciate and understand his details。 。。。more

Never eat alone is an incredible book about networking。 I was afraid its length would mean it would be filled with too long chapters that could be just as clear with a few sentences。 But the book is incredibly rich : it includes content that shows how networking is key (some why), a solid theory on which skills to master, and concrete advice on how to get better。Some exemples of stuff I never thought I could find in a single networking book but which I did : how to manage secretaries to meet imp Never eat alone is an incredible book about networking。 I was afraid its length would mean it would be filled with too long chapters that could be just as clear with a few sentences。 But the book is incredibly rich : it includes content that shows how networking is key (some why), a solid theory on which skills to master, and concrete advice on how to get better。Some exemples of stuff I never thought I could find in a single networking book but which I did : how to manage secretaries to meet important people, how to master following-up, how to maximise efficiency when going to conferences, using people’s birthdays as a way to keep in touch。 Great stuff that anyone should read before attempting to become a real networker! 。。。more

Al principio me atrapó en su contenido, pero después solo vi un tema de interés por llegar a tu meta, con una personalidad frívola y materialista。

Networking isn't something that I think about in the day to day for work。 Made me look at networking in a different light and learned a bunch of tips from the author。 Not everything in the book is applicable (chapter on how to handle the press) and systematic (his system of pinging in three different ways isn't based on much other than experience)。 That being said, his experience has weight and many of the tips point in the right direction based on intuition。 Solid read if you're thinking about Networking isn't something that I think about in the day to day for work。 Made me look at networking in a different light and learned a bunch of tips from the author。 Not everything in the book is applicable (chapter on how to handle the press) and systematic (his system of pinging in three different ways isn't based on much other than experience)。 That being said, his experience has weight and many of the tips point in the right direction based on intuition。 Solid read if you're thinking about expanding in an area that is important yet not urgent。 。。。more

This book contains a lot of very useful advice to create vast and quality networks。As usual (and vaguely mentioned by the author), it has to be taken with a pinch of salt。 Keith is clearly very invested in his network, almost obsessively, so the time and effort that he puts into it may not be feasible for everyone。Nonetheless, the main message is strong and the advice provided are great。 Each reader just has to set their own objectives and adapt the advice to their own realities。I'll certainly k This book contains a lot of very useful advice to create vast and quality networks。As usual (and vaguely mentioned by the author), it has to be taken with a pinch of salt。 Keith is clearly very invested in his network, almost obsessively, so the time and effort that he puts into it may not be feasible for everyone。Nonetheless, the main message is strong and the advice provided are great。 Each reader just has to set their own objectives and adapt the advice to their own realities。I'll certainly keep most of them in mind throughout my journey。 。。。more
