Summary

。。。more

I loved every second reading this book。 This is the first Paulo Coelho book I read, i am soooo darn speechless by the ending but at the same time i am thoroughly happy with the ending。 I love his style of writing, how he always put layers to his words and his way of expressing logic with proves。 This book gave me more knowledge to life more than school has ever done。

After overdosing on sleeping pills, she was sent to a mental institution for treatment。 There, Dr。 Igor told her that her heart was damaged by the pills and she was going to die soon。 She did not want to die in the institution。In this institution, Veronika became interested in some of the patients and even became acquainted with them。 She learned that some even pretended to be insane or mad to escape from their real lives!ConclusionThe title actually was a little upsetting for me, but I had to admit that it was extremely direct。 One message that was very evident。 If you were not conforming to the social norm, then you were deemed mad by society。 Everyone commented on how Veronika shouldn’t be suicidal or depressed because she had everything others wanted。 One patient, Eduard was considered out of his mind because he refused to be a diplomat despite his parents’ guilt trips and threats。 He was a great artist and wanted to continue to be one。 Death for them meantHow many of us were told that we were insane for being or thinking differently? 。。。more

This masterpiece deserves all the praise it gets! Such a powerful narrative about the meaning of reality with a mindblowing approach on the origin of emotions。 I finished the book in one sitting and still couldn't get enough。 Paulo Coelho has a way of putting extreme weight in simple words。 "Veronika Decides To Die" ought to become compulsory reading in schools! 5/5 This masterpiece deserves all the praise it gets! To live fully is to be fully aware of the inevitability of death。 I have read a couple of books that expound on this and still, Paulo had more to say on the matter。 Veronika wants to die and in her journey to death(as is the journey of each one of us) discovers profound truths about life and the meaning of it。 Every character's story in this book has brought a light to various facets of life in an unutterable way。 Life is an act of faith, and to live is to have God with you, after all, He is a G To live fully is to be fully aware of the inevitability of death。 I have read a couple of books that expound on this and still, Paulo had more to say on the matter。 Veronika wants to die and in her journey to death(as is the journey of each one of us) discovers profound truths about life and the meaning of it。 Every character's story in this book has brought a light to various facets of life in an unutterable way。 Life is an act of faith, and to live is to have God with you, after all, He is a God of the living。 Veronika's story is one of hope, love, despair, meaning, pain, self-discovery and self actualization。 There is a thought provoking discussion on what normal means and the scope of insanity。 "A lot of doctors before me have done similar studies and reached the conclusion that normality is merely a matter of consensus; that is, a lot of people think something is right, and so that thing becomes right。"100% recommend to all human race card-holders。 。。。more

For someone who is not a big fan of the self-help books, this fictional book by Paulo Coelho depicts the story of a young woman named Veronica who, as is obvious from the title itself, decides to die because of the emptiness that she feels in her life。 Something that really made a difference in my life was the fact beautifully told by the book that no one, in fact, wants to die, no matter how hard and empty the life gets。 The book takes you on a beautiful ride from there on and when you finally For someone who is not a big fan of the self-help books, this fictional book by Paulo Coelho depicts the story of a young woman named Veronica who, as is obvious from the title itself, decides to die because of the emptiness that she feels in her life。 Something that really made a difference in my life was the fact beautifully told by the book that no one, in fact, wants to die, no matter how hard and empty the life gets。 The book takes you on a beautiful ride from there on and when you finally get off the train, you find a new you。 。。。more

There is so much said, but the plot is full of life。 Jumping between a character to another, the story keeps revolving, not feeling any repetitiveness, or boredom。 It keeps us hooked into it。 But something about Paulo's work is missing here, and compared to others it doesn't feel like a must read。 Rather a book I would say good read。 There is so much said, but the plot is full of life。 Jumping between a character to another, the story keeps revolving, not feeling any repetitiveness, or boredom。 It keeps us hooked into it。 But something about Paulo's work is missing here, and compared to others it doesn't feel like a must read。 Rather a book I would say good read。 。。。more

It was a nice book。 But not everyone on this planet is Veronika。 Not everyone wants to live the way she wanted。 A lot of gaps, interesting in reading but nothing to learn。
