Summary

It was good enough for themWhat do Charles Dow, Jesse Livermore, and Richard Ney have in common? They used volume and price to anticipate where the market was heading next, and so built their vast fortunes。 For them, it was the ticker tape, for us it is the trading screen。 The results are the same and can be for you too。
You can be lucky tooI make no bones about the fact I believe I was lucky in starting my own trading journey using volume。 To me it just made sense。 The logic was inescapable。 And for me, the most powerful reason is very simple。 Volume is a rare commodity in trading - a leading indicator。 The second and only other leading indicator is price。 Everything else is lagged。
It's a simple problemAs traders, investors or speculators, all we are trying to do is to forecast where the market is heading next。 Is there any better way than to use the only two leading indicators we have at our disposal, namely volume and price?
And such a powerful solutionIn isolation, each tells us very little。 After all, volume is just that, no more no less。 A price is a price。 However, combine these two forces together, and the result is a powerful analytical approach to forecasting market direction with confidence。
What you will discoverThis book will teach you all you need to know from first principles。 So whether you're a day trader or longer-term investor in any market, instrument or timeframe, this book is the perfect platform to set you on the road to success and join those iconic traders of the past。 All you need to succeed is a chart with volume and price。。。simple。

It is a complete rubbish book。。。 full of grammatical mistakes which make it difficult to read。。。 it is clearly written solely for business purposes not educational purposes

This book is a welcomed addition to my trading library。 I recommend it to anyone interested in understanding the relationship between volume, price and action in the markets。

A short book highlighting the importance of using volume in trading。 Somewhat repetitive and basic, with not so many real-life examples。 Good for beginner traders and maybe as a refresher on the importance of using volume for intermediate traders。

Laine

Learned a good deal about interpreting volume and price action。

Reza

it is a good book for those who understand the price action and want to dig in to candles to understand more about what is happening in charts in front of them to make them think better。 and if you use it with your price action knowledge it will make you profitable。

I'm currently reading the book and actually I thought it is overrated, so I searched for others opinions, and basically what I made me think this way is that it's soooo much repetitive and wasn't written professionally。There's a couple of useful advices though that I actually observed in the market, but overall I think this book should be no more than 50 pages, because of the fact that it's keep taking phrases of older writers (1/3 of the book is phrases), and repeating the same charts over and I'm currently reading the book and actually I thought it is overrated, so I searched for others opinions, and basically what I made me think this way is that it's soooo much repetitive and wasn't written professionally。There's a couple of useful advices though that I actually observed in the market, but overall I think this book should be no more than 50 pages, because of the fact that it's keep taking phrases of older writers (1/3 of the book is phrases), and repeating the same charts over and over。Finally, I think I regret that I paid for the book because I thought that it'd help me understand the VPA filed, and actually I could fine better information from YouTube。 。。。more

Amazing Volume Price Analysis, opens up the eye to the candle and volume understanding。 100% worth your time if you are into trading and like to make sense of those candle and why they behave they way they do and what are they indicating。 If not immediate action for a trade, at least a heads up something is about to happen。 Changed the way I look at reversal significantly。

A brief guide into interpreting price through the lens of volume。 For any traders out there struggling to understand and make sense of certain "patterns" and/ or price movements this book will be enlightening, markets don't move because of support and resistance or specific "holy" patterns but on what functions beneath all those technicalities, the ebb and flow of market participants and human psychology。 Several examples from different markets including Forex which is definitely an upgrade from A brief guide into interpreting price through the lens of volume。 For any traders out there struggling to understand and make sense of certain "patterns" and/ or price movements this book will be enlightening, markets don't move because of support and resistance or specific "holy" patterns but on what functions beneath all those technicalities, the ebb and flow of market participants and human psychology。 Several examples from different markets including Forex which is definitely an upgrade from what Mastering The Markets book presented。 。。。more

Initially began this read with low expectations。。 WOW, was I surprised。。。 This is the second best book on speculative strategy that I have EVER read。 This book endows the reader with the ability to rationalize what was once seemingly irrational。

Alyse

Really helped me understand how to reach charts better。 I would definitely recommend reading this book if you want to learn what to look for when trading stocks。

Great bookI had fun reading this book and learning。 Definitely a different way of looking at the markets。 The diagrams definitely help to see what the author is talking about。

Changes in volume are relative (as she rightly points out) and so I would think I could glean some wisdom about how big of a position to take based on how strong the volume is。 Right? Coulling said nothing about this。It would have strengthened the book, too, if she had walked the reader through a sample real-time analysis and execution of a trade。 Perhaps one she herself had made, with the thought process laid out, the decisions made and the results revealed。 That would have made for an even more compelling conclusion than chapter 11 entitled, “Putting It All Together”—which fell somewhat short of ‘all together,’ in my opinion。 Other trading books do stress the practicalities of entering and exiting trades。 Coulling does not。 That is a weakness of this book。These are areas where a very beginning trader would leave Coulling’s book definitely wanting more。 So, in that sense, it is not a complete ‘first course’ in trading。 Nevertheless, this is an excellent book。 I will pick up at least one other of her follow up books to learn more! 。。。more

Gave me a whole new perspective to how the market works, particularly the market makers and insiders, and how to trade with them。 Certainly using volume a lot more now to get into and manage my trades。 Also love the technique of waiting for a congestion phase to break out and then get into the trend。 Used to skip choppy charts but now I look for them so as to get the big move when it finally breaks out of the range。 The repetitive parts are okay for me, it just reiterates what is important。 Read Gave me a whole new perspective to how the market works, particularly the market makers and insiders, and how to trade with them。 Certainly using volume a lot more now to get into and manage my trades。 Also love the technique of waiting for a congestion phase to break out and then get into the trend。 Used to skip choppy charts but now I look for them so as to get the big move when it finally breaks out of the range。 The repetitive parts are okay for me, it just reiterates what is important。 Read this on my Kindle, the charts are not really readable。 I'd suggest to provide a clearer and coloured version online or something。 。。。more

A good book on the importance of volume and its relationship with price & candles。 It did reinforce some fundamental principles and provided fresh perspective in some areas。 However, at times i felt that the author's style of writing is too informal & non-standard as compared to other books in the same genre。 The author seemed pretty biased as well。 Overall a good read。 A good book on the importance of volume and its relationship with price & candles。 It did reinforce some fundamental principles and provided fresh perspective in some areas。 However, at times i felt that the author's style of writing is too informal & non-standard as compared to other books in the same genre。 The author seemed pretty biased as well。 Overall a good read。 。。。more
