Summary

A tall, quiet gamer boy and a geeky girl whose life revolves around yaoi manga are old friends, but when they start working in the same office, they decide to date。 It’s a relationship of convenience at first, but could it become something more? This manga comedy is now a hit streaming anime!

Extra-long book includes 2 Japanese volumes!

SUMMER ROMANCE FOR NERDS

Narumi and Hirotaka’s relationship is going swimmingly, so now the two have a new problem: the rumor mill。 The couple is going to have to rely on Hirotaka’s reputation as an undateable gamer to quash the gossip, because it’s shaping up to be a busy summer。 There’s a double date with Hanako and Taro at a festival, Narumi’s first try at cosplaying, and even that otaku classic: a hot springs episode。 Meanwhile, when Naoya’s incredible misunderstanding about his new friend Ko comes to a head, will their friendship survive?

I continue to love this series, however I am getting a bit frustrated a the seeming lack of progress in the relationship between Narumi and Hirotaka。 Everyone one else is moving forward except them。 Perhaps this is intentional? I am excited for September when the next English volume is released。

This series continues to be adorable and I really hope the next one comes out soon。

Things that I like about this series (possibly repeating myself, but it was some time since I reviewed the previous volume):--It is a story about characters in stable relationships rather than following the usual romance trope of building up to a confession; Naoya and Ko are the exception, but I'm sure that if/when they finally start dating we'll continue to see their story interwoven with the others。--I love how comprehensive the end notes are, and the sort of encyclopedic detail they provide i Things that I like about this series (possibly repeating myself, but it was some time since I reviewed the previous volume):--It is a story about characters in stable relationships rather than following the usual romance trope of building up to a confession; Naoya and Ko are the exception, but I'm sure that if/when they finally start dating we'll continue to see their story interwoven with the others。--I love how comprehensive the end notes are, and the sort of encyclopedic detail they provide in explaining even obscure otaku references; I think I would find the otaku culture annoying on its own, but seen through the filter of these characters it is fun。--The chapters intersplice the developing story of the characters with occasional chapters that are silly what-ifs or responses to fan requests; they aren't really part of the plot, but the characters are such adorable dorks that it never feels out of place。 。。。more

This manga continues where the previous one left off but its a lot more episodic than what I expected in a good way except for it felt a little rushed??? Yes I am probably the minority in this opinion but I appreciated that every couple got quite a bit of page time and that every relationship is moving to the next level。 However, the episodic chapters felt rushed and out of order and there were a lot of references to volume 2。 Because of these points, I have to give this a 3。5 out of 5 stars

When Koyanagi said she stopped looking for otaku friends and online friends are enough。。。 I felt so attacked。 O___O

My ship! Not spoiling, just want to salute my unsinkable Space Battlecruiser Flower ship! Banzai! But if you're Wotakoi type of people, you already know before volume 4(7-8)。 I don't think any review would change that one way or the other。 My ship! Not spoiling, just want to salute my unsinkable Space Battlecruiser Flower ship! Wotakoi is my go-to manga to re-read when I'm sad or when I need some more adult characters to invest in, and this volume did not disappoint!I love our main characters, but this volume has a lot of focus on our two side couples which was lovely。 I am a total sucker for Taro and Hanako and I deeply love their relationship and love story。 I won't spoil what happens in this volume but it's SO CUTE and also real to life。 The ups and downs they have are reminiscent of relationships I've had, and I en Wotakoi is my go-to manga to re-read when I'm sad or when I need some more adult characters to invest in, and this volume did not disappoint!I love our main characters, but this volume has a lot of focus on our two side couples which was lovely。 I am a total sucker for Taro and Hanako and I deeply love their relationship and love story。 I won't spoil what happens in this volume but it's SO CUTE and also real to life。 The ups and downs they have are reminiscent of relationships I've had, and I enjoy that during the push and pull of their arguments they're still able to communicate in order to get over it once they've cooled off。 A lot of this volume really focuses on them and as they are sorta the side comic relief to the series it was nice to see them in a more serious light。 The other couple we get a lot of information on in this volume is Ko and Naoya。 Their budding friendship into crush situation is adorable to read about and I love how Ko is slowly coming out of her shell more and more and making friends with Naoya's core group。 She also gets some girl time with Hanako and Narumi which is so exciting to see because I would love for those characters to get together more often。 I honestly love this series, it's such a comfort read for me and I can't wait to get more of it。 Blog / Twitter 。。。more

Another amazing entry into a fantastic series。 Wotakoi deserves a lot more praise and anttention than it gets。 Don't get me wrong, I am part and parcel of the mass consumption of lesser materials -- but this gem should be out there。The relationships in this one are great and felt rather organic to me。 I really hope there is more to come because this series is great。Verdict: Probably the best of the bunch。 If you've not read the series, start now! Okay so I'm not a die hard fan of Slice-of-life anything。 But I would die for this series。 All of these characters are amazing and I want the best for all of them。 This volume was incredibly exciting and it was worth the wait getting my hands on it。 I love seeing particularly how Ko is opening up, and I feel like I can connect with her the most。 But all of them are just so realistic to me and I hope this series gets more hype。 It deserves attention。 Okay so I'm not a die hard fan of Slice-of-life anything。 But I would die for this series。 All of these characters are amazing and I want the best for all of them。 This volume was incredibly exciting and it was worth the wait getting my hands on it。 I love seeing particularly how Ko is opening up, and I feel like I can connect with her the most。 But all of them are just so realistic to me and I hope this series gets more hype。 It deserves attention。 。。。more
