This book is a memoir written by Priyanka Chopra who is one of the most recognized personalities of the world。 Growing up I watched her filmed and was smitten by her acting in Bollywood。 And further when Priyanka made it into Hollywood; she set the bar high for excellence。 If you want something, you can go get it; regardless of where you from or what you do。 I anticipated reading her journey because of her strong impact in this world and familiarity。I have always had a special liking for memoirs This book is a memoir written by Priyanka Chopra who is one of the most recognized personalities of the world。 Growing up I watched her filmed and was smitten by her acting in Bollywood。 And further when Priyanka made it into Hollywood; she set the bar high for excellence。 If you want something, you can go get it; regardless of where you from or what you do。 I anticipated reading her journey because of her strong impact in this world and familiarity。I have always had a special liking for memoirs and autobiographies。 Reading them presents an opportunity to learn and live a life through the words of the author。 The thrill and excitement are just heavenly。 I finished this book in 12 hours over two days and I couldn’t stop myself from putting this book down。 I was so humbled by Priyanka’s childhood and how her parents raised her with a sense of individuality and self-worth in the late 90s when till today, it’s tough to find parents who give you a memorable childhood and make you feel important and heard。 I just couldn’t stop myself from sobbing and appreciating every moment and how much independence Mr。 & Mrs。 Chopra imbibed in their daughter。 Reading through the spontaneous and dynamic childhood, frequent moves, and hardships made me feel so grateful and resilient to be self-sufficient and dream big。 No matter what, one can dust themselves off, pick the pieces of the remains, and go conquer the world。 In this modern world where time seems to be running at the speed of light, and the feeling of excelling at everything, reading Priyanka’s journey from the very start to every hurdle and success has given me so much hope to keep going no matter what and NEVER EVER GIVE Up。 Yes, perfection comes from practice and excellence comes from constant growth。 One needs to dream big and go after whatever one wishes。 A few days ago, I was so demotivated to do anything at all cause it felt like I wasn’t enough and that I was just going to fail… But gosh I am 20。 I haven’t even seen the actual hardships of life。 I read this book and realized how stupid I was being to not appreciate my privileges and was hurting by not giving myself time to master my skill and go crushing it。My heart leaps at Priyanka’s parents。。。 I can’t tell you how supportive and ‘hero of making it work’ they have been。 Gosh… If ever I become a parent, those are the type of parents, I would want my partner and me to be。 Overall I am so inspired and impressed by everything Priyanka Chopra has done and achieved in her life and career。 She had gained my respect 3x times for how hard and efficiently she has worked to be where she is today。 I can’t tell you how much I am appalled and furious about folks who have never achieved anything, who just go trolling Priyanka at any and every nonsense。 After reading this memoir I am just like, “she doesn’t deserve any hate。 Cause there are rare who have achieved what she has been able to achieve and create waves of greatness with her work”。From being Miss World, Bollywood superstar, music composer, and singer, to be the first Indian-born actor to lead an American network series。 I wish her all the best in all her work at UNICEF and all her business and production work with ‘Purple Pebble Pictures’。 Last but certainly not least I am sending all my love to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Diana, Gino, and Panda。 。。。more

I don't watch movies and I'm not into beauty Pageants。 Yet, Priyanka Chopra's memoir held my interest。 If all that she writes is true, she has indeed led a very colorful life and would make a great role model for other young women。 I don't watch movies and I'm not into beauty Pageants。 Yet, Priyanka Chopra's memoir held my interest。 If all that she writes is true, she has indeed led a very colorful life and would make a great role model for other young women。 。。。more

This was an absolute enjoyable read, every single page of it。 I resonate with so much of her story and I couldn’t imagine myself ever writing a book far different from this。

She is definitely a very hard working and inspiring women。Lot to learn - versatility and adaptive nature as her success itself narrates。。。I was bit more interested to go bit deep on how she was able to achieve all this。The books cover her journey of success at very superficial level。。

I first became aware of the author long before most Westerners, having been a fan of her 'Bollywood' films a decade before she made a splash in Hollywood - I even have an 11 year old all black cat I named after her。 So I was curious to read of her life and get the inside scoop。 Although never less than interesting, and surprisingly well-written (she's no dummy!), I was slightly disappointed that her Indian career in films is given rather short shrift - only a handful are even mentioned, and none I first became aware of the author long before most Westerners, having been a fan of her 'Bollywood' films a decade before she made a splash in Hollywood - I even have an 11 year old all black cat I named after her。 So I was curious to read of her life and get the inside scoop。 Although never less than interesting, and surprisingly well-written (she's no dummy!), I was slightly disappointed that her Indian career in films is given rather short shrift - only a handful are even mentioned, and none in great detail- and also that she is rather reticent to discuss her romantic life before her fairytale marriage to Mr。 Jonas (given that there are rumors about affairs with two of Bollywood's biggest married superstars, that is perhaps understandable)。 Nonetheless, she's lived a fascinating and varied life (who knew she attended high school largely in the US?), and it was a fast and enjoyable, if not particularly memorable read。 。。。more

2。5 StarsI don't think this was that good of a memoir。 It didn't go deep enough and I felt like a lot of the stories were tall-tales。 I had high hopes for this, but Priyanka gave off a woe-is-me attitude for most of the book。 Does she expect us to believe all that stuff really happened? Especially with all the doctors and then no suing or trying to make changes afterwards? I'm not sorry I read this book, but I won't recommend it to others。 2。5 StarsI don't think this was that good of a memoir。 It didn't go deep enough and I felt like a lot of the stories were tall-tales。 I had high hopes for this, but Priyanka gave off a woe-is-me attitude for most of the book。 Does she expect us to believe all that stuff really happened? Priyanka Chopra is someone whose work I have seen growing up, so a lot of stories were familiar to me。 The parts that I loved the most were her childhood stories, it was really sweet and touching。 The stories about her family and especially her dad will bring a smile to your face。 The most toughest part to read was the one after she lost her dad。 Losing a close and dear one is the most difficult thing and it was really heartbreaking to read through that particular journey of hers。 It's a book th Priyanka Chopra is someone whose work I have seen growing up, so a lot of stories were familiar to me。 The parts that I loved the most were her childhood stories, it was really sweet and touching。 The stories about her family and especially her dad will bring a smile to your face。 The most toughest part to read was the one after she lost her dad。 Losing a close and dear one is the most difficult thing and it was really heartbreaking to read through that particular journey of hers。 It's a book that inspires you to reach out and give it your best despite the difficulties that come through。 Not a lot of us are blessed with opportunities, so when we get them, we should always do our best。 Maybe because I knew a lot about her journey, the book didn't hold the excitement as I hoped it would。 。。。more

But honestly, I don't care for gossip, or her past relationships, or her professional squabbles - what I really wanted to understand was her simplest of things。 The way she approached a role, her craft of diving deep into creating living breathing characters (because she is actually quite good at it), the way she straddled the two different worlds and the everyday struggles of that, the way she managed to work her two culturally separate families together - smaller things that made her into the global powerhouse that she is, both personally and professionally。 Sadly, I came out rather dry with only a more comprehensive understanding of what I had heard her relate to multiple times in multiple interviews。 But, well, having said that, it is her story and she very well can tell it the way she wants。 All I want to say is that I appreciate her for doing the hard work。 One thing that I cannot emphasize enough is the amount of breakneck work she has been doing for the past 20 years。 We seem to undermine women in professional settings, especially performing arts, and the amount of effort they put in to portray the complex characters on screen in a myriad of ways。 Priyanka is truly a champion at that and it is extremely heartwarming to see her in a happy space in her life。 Maybe in 30 years, we will get another memoir - a more richer, deeper, and a rather daring account。 Because she sure is all of that, and more! "We can't choose the family we were born into。 But we can choose our actions。 We all want to take care of the people we are closest to, those sitting at our table。 But is there a world in which those who are blessed with more might build a larger table rather than building a higher fence?”Reaction Section 。。。more
