Building with Legos has come a long way。 Lots of examples for upping your game。

When I was a kid， everything I made out of Lego was either a boxed set， or entirely my own idea。 And then I got a little book for $2 called the Legoland idea book， which I looked at again and again。 But outside of that， it was a very rare treat to get to see anything anyone else made of Legos。 I remember an exhibit at the mall with a spaceship that was maybe eight feet long-- at least that's how I remember it。 Back then， it was impossible to buy just the pieces you wanted。 The only options were When I was a kid， everything I made out of Lego was either a boxed set， or entirely my own idea。 And then I got a little book for $2 called the Legoland idea book， which I looked at again and again。 But outside of that， it was a very rare treat to get to see anything anyone else made of Legos。 I remember an exhibit at the mall with a spaceship that was maybe eight feet long-- at least that's how I remember it。 Back then， it was impossible to buy just the pieces you wanted。 The only options were boxed sets or the occasional random garage sale。Now all that has changed。 You can see the very best ideas other people have had， and buy whatever pieces you need to make them。 There are far more pieces available now， too。 All of which means the level of model building possible is far higher than it used to be。 This book is just about architectural elements。 It has a thousand small bits-- windows， columns， brickwork， and so forth， each in color and showing how the internal structure is built up。 Two of my favorite parts were the section on quoins and the section on stained glass windows。 。。。more

WOW！ Boy does this book have ideas for making your LEGO builds look awesome。 Not a lot of instruction （you gotta figure that out for yourself， but for the most part that should not be too hard）。 Full of great images and great ideas。 Gets your creative juices flowing and makes you want to hit the bricks （plastic LEGO bricks that is）。 Excellent resource for anyone wanting to build their own city。 Initially， when I saw the cover I though this was going to be more on the microscale builds （think the WOW！ Boy does this book have ideas for making your LEGO builds look awesome。 Not a lot of instruction （you gotta figure that out for yourself， but for the most part that should not be too hard）。 Full of great images and great ideas。 Gets your creative juices flowing and makes you want to hit the bricks （plastic LEGO bricks that is）。 Excellent resource for anyone wanting to build their own city。 Initially， when I saw the cover I though this was going to be more on the microscale builds （think the LEGO Architecture line）， but it is for minifigure scale （mostly）。Can't wait to put some of these ideas into practice。 。。。more
