Summary

I enjoyed the book。I've watched the movie a couple of times before deciding to read the book and it did take me a while to get into but then， I just couldn't put it down。I enjoyed reading from both perspectives and the writing， sometimes， was so beautifully written。 There were certain words and phrases that resonates with me and was put perfectly into words。Even though the ending was inevitable， I was hooked and even through the sadness of the book ending， I perceived， of course， and completed t I enjoyed the book。I've watched the movie a couple of times before deciding to read the book and it did take me a while to get into but then， I just couldn't put it down。I enjoyed reading from both perspectives and the writing， sometimes， was so beautifully written。 There were certain words and phrases that resonates with me and was put perfectly into words。Even though the ending was inevitable， I was hooked and even through the sadness of the book ending， I perceived， of course， and completed the novel。It was a bittersweet ending。I really did enjoy the book and would recommend you picking it up and giving it a try。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 This was one of the weirdest stories I’ve ever read。 I had a hard time getting started with it。 Almost put it down a couple of times。 It’s not the idea of time travel that was weird， it was how Henry experienced it that was weird。 I was creeped out by him appearing to his future wife， as an adult while naked， and she’s about 6 years old。 I’m not a great book reviewer but there were a few things in here that didn’t tie together， for me: Clare’s hook-ups with Gomez for one。 Why Ingrid killed herse This was one of the weirdest stories I’ve ever read。 I had a hard time getting started with it。 Almost put it down a couple of times。 It’s not the idea of time travel that was weird， it was how Henry experienced it that was weird。 I was creeped out by him appearing to his future wife， as an adult while naked， and she’s about 6 years old。 I’m not a great book reviewer but there were a few things in here that didn’t tie together， for me: Clare’s hook-ups with Gomez for one。 Why Ingrid killed herself in front of Henry。 Was Henry killed by Clare’s father and brother？ Oh well。 。。。more

This book is very special to me， because I read it soon after my first daughter was born， and it was the book “that got me back into reading”。 I can remember absolutely loving this book。 It caught my imagination and made me want to read more， and it also made me cry。 The film of this book is actually okay， although they left a few storylines out。 It has been nearly 15 years since I read this book， and I must re-read it as I always class this as one of my all-time favourites。

Think of the movie Tenet， but make it romantic。 It’s a love story told from the literal birth of the protagonists to their death。 Don’t get me wrong， I love romance and the book was cute， but it was far too long。 I felt the length was unnecessary and caused me to lose interest in the main characters。 If it were like 200 pages shorter， it would have been great！

I borrowed this book from my Mum around a decade ago。 I read around forty pages， and quickly lost interest。 Ten years later， I spotted it peering out of my bookshelf， and I thought it deserved a second chance。 It looks as if my Mum will finally be receiving her book back。 （She loves it） This book was pretty average。 I realise many， many people love this， and from reading some reviews， it is up there on their "favourites" shelf。 Unfortunately though， it fell flat for me， in many ways， and I reali I borrowed this book from my Mum around a decade ago。 I read around forty pages， and quickly lost interest。 Ten years later， I spotted it peering out of my bookshelf， and I thought it deserved a second chance。 It looks as if my Mum will finally be receiving her book back。 （She loves it） This book was pretty average。 I realise many， many people love this， and from reading some reviews， it is up there on their "favourites" shelf。 Unfortunately though， it fell flat for me， in many ways， and I realised some time ago， that just because a novel is "well read" doesn't mean it is actually worth the time to read it。 The idea of ones Husband partaking in involuntary time travel is actually an intriguing premise， and some parts， especially the beginning， kept my attention adequately， but as the story developed， the irritation and boredom set in。 The plot was odd。 I appreciate what the author was attempting to do， and in some parts， it worked， but all the jumping back and forth became tedious， and I felt emotionally detached from the characters。 Henry came across as a man that you wouldn't exactly see as a "catch。" He was a womanizer for one， and we don't really learn anything significant about him， and how he changed， except that he somehow， travels through time。 Henry and Clare spend a tremendous amount of time eating ridiculously posh food， making and drinking coffee， sleeping， and fucking。 It doesn't get much better than this。 There are a few questions left unanswered， such as， why is Henry so attached to Gomez？ I mean， we get bits of their relationship throughout the book， but at the end of it， how could Henry still be best friends with the person that loves， and sleeps with Clare twice over？ Strange。 I wasn't expecting to love this， as I usually find myself in the minority， but this book was just depressing， it didn't uplift the soul， the time-travel and romance didn't blend together， and， it makes me wonder why Niffenegger wrote this in the first place。 。。。more

Ugh。 One star is generous。 I should have given up on this terrible book but I was committed and hoped that it would get better。 The story was all over the place like a logic problem and even though I have a mind that thinks that way， I hated it。 Also， sex is in almost every book and I’m ok with that。 I’m not a prude but this author was extremely vulgar with her words and descriptions of sex and I was disgusted by it。 This book was a royal waste of time。
