Clover moon is a fantastic ,outstanding and remarkable!!!I think this because it kind of tells us about how people use to whack children with canes really hard。It is also really sad because a girl dies and he girl called clover has a hateful evil step-mum who probably doesn't love her but at least she has a friend who is a old man and makes dolls 。What I also really like about this book she goes into a girls only care ! What I don't like about this book is she ends up being a servant!:( Clover moon is a fantastic ,outstanding and remarkable!!!I think this because it kind of tells us about how people use to whack children with canes really hard。It is also really sad because a girl dies and he girl called clover has a hateful evil step-mum who probably doesn't love her but at least she has a friend who is a old man and makes dolls 。What I also really like about this book she goes into a girls only care ! Although I am an older reader, Jacqueline Wilson was my most absolute favourite author as a child and it was these books that gave me a real love of reading。 I would read book after book, with such delight that left me wanting the next straight away, Now I have to say, Clover Moon has been no exception! Clover Moon is a great book and I think the age is suitable for an age of 9+ because there are some sad parts though also many joyful times。 I think that it is an amazing book to show children just how lucky they are compared to Clover。

A good-sized read for older children。 I’m an adult but I love Jacqueline Wilson for an easy read。 I’m not as keen on her historical novels as I am her modern novels with older characters, but I liked Clover Moon and wanted to find out what happened to her。

Jemimah Ngwendson

I think Clover will enjoy staying with Rose Rivers and become her friend 。

Another good read from Ms。 Wilson!I will admit that this one did not have the same spark and feel of originality as her other books, but it still manages to draw you in to root for our girl as she tries to make her way in the world!Recommended for fans of JW's previous works! I am probably out of the age group for this one, but I still couldn't resist picking it in the library when I saw it。 It。。。 was not bad。 It was also not amazing, for the sheer reason of Clover's character。 Having read many of Wilson's books over the years I would love for once to have a girl with a different personality。 I know girls like Hetty Feather are easily likeable, but a change wouldn't hurt once in a while, right? Wow。 This book was such a nice read。 I actually got this signed ages ago but was too young to read it but I have now gone back to it and am so happy I did。Clover is a flawed but lovely character and the other characters although some are horrible are just the best and amazingly described! Megs is so lovely and a great person to hear about。 Mildred is horrible and her Dad I just can’t make my mind up about! I can’t wait to move onto Rose Rivers and continue this truly beautiful story!

I think this book was a bit easy for me and I didn’t really enjoy it。 I haven’t finished it all but as I’m studying Anne Frank at school I really wanted to read her diary so that’s another reason why I stopped reading Clover Moon。 I would recommend this book to year 4-8。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I liked this book but I felt the ending was really abrupt。 As the book was surprisingly long compared to other Jacqueline Wilson's books I've read, it was very detailed, moment by moment and then stopped just as it was ( I assume) about to reach a happy ending。 It was so strange that all we hear of the house she ends up in is the hallway and the staircase。 She is brought there to be a nursery maid so it was unexpected that we didn't at least see the nursery。 I think 1 more chapter would have fel I liked this book but I felt the ending was really abrupt。 As the book was surprisingly long compared to other Jacqueline Wilson's books I've read, it was very detailed, moment by moment and then stopped just as it was ( I assume) about to reach a happy ending。 It was so strange that all we hear of the house she ends up in is the hallway and the staircase。 She is brought there to be a nursery maid so it was unexpected that we didn't at least see the nursery。 I think 1 more chapter would have felt a lot neater, describing the house, the people in it and at least giving a little overview of what Clover's life was like there。 Maybe Jaqueline left it like that so she could continue the story on?I do love Jacqueline's characters though, they usually very interesting and creative people with enough hardship in their lives so that they feel very relatable。 This book was shockingly dark in comparison to others I have read, the part where her sister dies in her arms just after you think she is perking up is particularly harrowing。I was also a bit disappointed at the lack of illustrations in the book as I love Nick Sharrat's illustrations so much and have grown to expect many of them when I pick up one of Jacqueline's stories。 I hope to get a continuation of the story at some point。* I am amending this review a couple of weeks later as I have just stumbled across "Rose Rivers" which is a continuation of "Clover Moon"。 I didn't realise "Clover Moon" was part of a series as it was the only Jaqueline Wilson book available for download on my library website, so that is my fault for not checking。 。。。more

Jacqueline Wilson is one of those authors whose works I will always love and whom I feel a timeless attachment to。 She just has that magic touch in her children's books, much like Roald Dahl and to be honest, I will happily rate all of her books 5 stars, she simply is one of my all time favourite authors。 However, I must admit I am slightly too old for the realistic idealism mixed with a slight tinge of fairytale。Clover Moon lives in Cripps Alley with her 6 younger siblings, hateful stepmother a Jacqueline Wilson is one of those authors whose works I will always love and whom I feel a timeless attachment to。 She just has that magic touch in her children's books, much like Roald Dahl and to be honest, I will happily rate all of her books 5 stars, she simply is one of my all time favourite authors。 However, I must admit I am slightly too old for the realistic idealism mixed with a slight tinge of fairytale。Clover Moon lives in Cripps Alley with her 6 younger siblings, hateful stepmother and weary father。 She is resigned to living her life in drudgery until tragedy strikes and she decides that the place she called home was no longer home to her。 So she sets out on a journey to support herself and meets an old friend along the way。 Filled with Wilson's signature candidness, this was joy to read and Nick Sharrett's illustrations fabulous as always。 I will definitely be reading more Jacqueline Wilson, her books are just like wondrous splashes of colour。 。。。more
