This book was written in October 2020In my opinion i reckon this is the best book in the Diary of the Wimpy kid series。 It has a lot of action that interests the readers, and it is very easy to read。 A quick rundown is that Greg and his family are stuck in their grandma's basement while their house is being renovated, but they get so sick of being stuck down there they get their other grandmas campervan and go camping, but when they get there greg gets in trouble with the camp owner。(spoiler) ma This book was written in October 2020In my opinion i reckon this is the best book in the Diary of the Wimpy kid series。 It has a lot of action that interests the readers, and it is very easy to read。 A quick rundown is that Greg and his family are stuck in their grandma's basement while their house is being renovated, but they get so sick of being stuck down there they get their other grandmas campervan and go camping, but when they get there greg gets in trouble with the camp owner。(spoiler) manny dies 。。。more

The moral of the wimpy kid series is basically just "Never go outside, the world is dangerous and bad。" That's a message I can get behind 😎 The moral of the wimpy kid series is basically just "Never go outside, the world is dangerous and bad。" That's a message I can get behind 😎 。。。more

Following the mayhem that resulted from their home improvement efforts (As seen in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Wrecking Ball, reviewed here), the Heffley family is stuck living in Greg's grandmother's basement。 As stir-craziness sets in, the sudden acquisition of a camper provides a possible escape for the rest of the summer, so it's road-trip time!First of all, after complaining that the ending of the previous book felt like too much of a no-consequences reset, it was nice to see that there were, in Following the mayhem that resulted from their home improvement efforts (As seen in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Wrecking Ball, reviewed here), the Heffley family is stuck living in Greg's grandmother's basement。 As stir-craziness sets in, the sudden acquisition of a camper provides a possible escape for the rest of the summer, so it's road-trip time!First of all, after complaining that the ending of the previous book felt like too much of a no-consequences reset, it was nice to see that there were, in fact, some consequences and continuity from the events of Wrecking Ball。 This series works better with a bit of continuity。This installment starts slow。 We've already seen the family trip adventures a couple of times now, and in the beginning, it's the usual stuff, with Greg's mom set of ruining everyone's fun for the sake of, well, having fun。 This interaction has never been very entertaining, and it's not any better here。What is a lot better is a subplot that begins when the family arrives at the Campers' Eden campground。 Greg actually has a pretty fun adventure with a crew of kids who are regulars at the camp。 They end up in a battle with a gang of teenagers who have been using a giant slingshot to lob watermelons at the campers in the lake。 Greg's new friends have a lot of personality, which is a nice change from some of the throwaway characters encountered in previous books, and it really helps improve this story in terms of plot and humor。The jokes build up nicely toward the end, and there is even a bit of a happy ending。Between this book, Wrecking Ball, and Rowley Jefferson's Awesome Friendly Adventure, Jeff Kinney's most recent works have been a lot more appealing to me than his earlier stuff。 。。。more

These books are always good when they come out, because they are so easy to understand and fun to read, even if you also enjoy reading large, long books like me sometimes。 I don't want to spoil anything, because in my opinion, this is the best one yet。 These books are always good when they come out, because they are so easy to understand and fun to read, even if you also enjoy reading large, long books like me sometimes。 I don't want to spoil anything, because in my opinion, this is the best one yet。 。。。more

I have been reading these books for a while and usually they're good。 The last one, Wrecking Ball, was actually a lot better then the last few。 But this one was just so much worse。 Back a while ago, they focused on a whole school year, and then later moved to focusing on a month, but this one focuses on like, five days or something? They somehow get that to fill up 200 pages, which makes it less interesting。 It's pretty much a repeat of the last few books。 The jokes are bad, too。 The author has I have been reading these books for a while and usually they're good。 The last one, Wrecking Ball, was actually a lot better then the last few。 But this one was just so much worse。 Back a while ago, they focused on a whole school year, and then later moved to focusing on a month, but this one focuses on like, five days or something? It was nice to go back and re-read this one。 For me, it was an easy, quick re-read that brought me some happiness and humor。 It's definitely not my favorite, but 4 stars because it's relatable and a good book to pass the time。 I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an easy read with some humor and a few hidden lessons。 It was nice to go back and re-read this one。 For me, it was an easy, quick re-read that brought me some happiness and humor。 It's definitely not my favorite, but 4 stars because it's relatable and a good book to pass the time。 I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an easy read with some humor and a few hidden lessons。 。。。more

LACKING SPECTACULARITY"The way the story goes, after it rained for forty days and forty nights, it took 150 days for the floodwater to go back down。 That means Noah was stuck on the boat with a bunch of animals, plus his wife and three sons。 And whenever I feel sorry for myself living in Gramma's basement with my family, I think about Noah and it makes me feel a little better。"This series always cheers me up, it's a guarantee! I found myself exclaiming "Unbelievable!" (which in Italian sounds like: "No, vabbè") at every turn, so paradoxical and ludicrous were the Heffleys' adventures。 Moreover, illustrations were hilarious as usual。Nonetheless, I felt like "The deep end" lacked that sense of completeness that other books by the same author had。 Situations seemed to add up one after another without any of them menaging to reach a spectacular point (or am I growing too old for comics?)。 。。。more

Will I ever grow out of my Diary of a Wimpy Kid phase? no, not anytime soon。 Over 10 years strong my obsession has gone on for, and the only thing that's changed is how fast I can read these books。 I've managed to put my cousin on to these books so I know for a fact that he will turn out to be an exquisite human being when he grows up - just like me! The misfortunes and misadventures of the Heffley family still make me laugh, although I’m beginning to think Murphy’s law should be renamed Heffley’s law as luck so rarely seems to be on their side! A quick read that entertains and amuses with situations that are often comparable with and relatable to our own unfortunate happenings。
