Summary

Scientist Ada has a boundless imagination and has always been hopelessly curious。 Why are there pointy things stuck to a rose? Why are there hairs growing inside your nose? When her house fills with a horrific, toe-curling smell, Ada knows it’s up to her to find the source。 What would you do with a problem like this? Not afraid of failure, Ada embarks on a fact-finding mission and conducts scientific experiments, all in the name of discovery。 But, this time, her experiments lead to even more stink and get her into trouble!

This follows a girl with a ton of questions for the world。 It is hard for her parents to get the answers for her many questions。 She is given a smelly problem, and uses scientific reasoning to figure it out。 It is all trial and error for her, but she's ready for the challenge。 This book could be a book for any child to look up to。 No matter what the age is, it shows them they they can do it too。 The pictures and colors also blended together so well。 This follows a girl with a ton of questions for the world。 It is hard for her parents to get the answers for her many questions。 She is given a smelly problem, and uses scientific reasoning to figure it out。 It is all trial and error for her, but she's ready for the challenge。 This book could be a book for any child to look up to。 No matter what the age is, it shows them they they can do it too。 The pictures and colors also blended together so well。 。。。more

Great to see a black main character in STEM。 Representation matters and Ada's curiosity is something many reader can relate to。 A fun rhyming picture book for readers between age 4-8。 But I have read it aloud to my 2 years old。 Great to see a black main character in STEM。 Representation matters and Ada's curiosity is something many reader can relate to。 A fun rhyming picture book for readers between age 4-8。 But I have read it aloud to my 2 years old。 。。。more

The book Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty is a wonderful children's book that explores the ideas of science and how children question the things around them。 The book starts off with Ada Twist not talking until the age of three, suddenly she begins talking and questioning how the things around her work。 She asked questions of what, when, who, how, and why to the things she saw around her。 One day, Ada tried to figure out what was stinking by doing experiments, which her parents did not like。 The book Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty is a wonderful children's book that explores the ideas of science and how children question the things around them。 The book starts off with Ada Twist not talking until the age of three, suddenly she begins talking and questioning how the things around her work。 She asked questions of what, when, who, how, and why to the things she saw around her。 One day, Ada tried to figure out what was stinking by doing experiments, which her parents did not like。 Her upset parents sent Ada to the thinking chair, where she begin to question her hypothesis once again。 In the end, her parents saw that Ada was just experimenting and trying to figure out the world around her。 This book would be amazing to use in a classroom, especially second grade because that is the grade that Ada is in。 In my classroom, I would use this as an intro to a science lesson on the scientific process or maybe just how experiments work。 This book used words such as hypothesis, which would be a great discussion point before starting a lab or experiment in the class。 Students could also see from this book how important questioning is in an experiment。 This book would be a great literature and science pairing。 I would definitely read this book in my classroom。 。。。more

Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty is a playfully written story about a little girl who appears to be struggling as a young toddler only to become quite the scientist。 While this story is totally true, it does have elements that are representative of certain scientist。 This book is meant to specifically represent female scientist and the opportunity that all little girls should have。 I found this book to be funny and to be an easy read for young readers with a powerful statement。 This book can Ada Twist, Scientist by Andrea Beaty is a playfully written story about a little girl who appears to be struggling as a young toddler only to become quite the scientist。 While this story is totally true, it does have elements that are representative of certain scientist。 This book is meant to specifically represent female scientist and the opportunity that all little girls should have。 I found this book to be funny and to be an easy read for young readers with a powerful statement。 This book can be used in my classroom to demonstrate the many possible jobs that can be had, especially for little girls。 It also would catch the interest of the "scientist" in my classroom making this an enjoyable read aloud and silent read。 。。。more
