The same review for book 1-3 of the series， because I'm a lazy potato。 A brief summary of these three books can also be found below， after the spoiler warning。。。So I read the first book when it first came out， then got distracted with other books and totally forgot about this series。 Now that the whole trilogy is out， I decided to re-read the first one and pick up where the story left off。。。 The first book was pretty good， then it got a whole lot better in the second one and the third book is ab The same review for book 1-3 of the series， because I'm a lazy potato。 A brief summary of these three books can also be found below， after the spoiler warning。。。So I read the first book when it first came out， then got distracted with other books and totally forgot about this series。 Now that the whole trilogy is out， I decided to re-read the first one and pick up where the story left off。。。 The first book was pretty good， then it got a whole lot better in the second one and the third book is absolutely epic， the ending is sweet though perhaps it's a bit too saccharine for my taste （coz I'm a fan of the horror/thriller genre and don't really read romantic stuffs very often）。 Overall， this is a very good series， I basically devoured the entire thing within a week or so。。。 Highly recommended 👍🏻Check out this series if you love:❤️ Slow-burn romance， enemy-turn-lover， happy ending🦸🏻♀️ Badass female protagonist， not entirely homicidal but relatively high body count🧝🏻♂️ A*hole main protagonist with high social status， a jerk and cruel to everyone， especially with the main female protagonist⚔️ Royalty politics， full of drama and scheming， scheming everywhere🗺️ Urban fantasy - Magical world in modern time， with humans， faeries and whatever elseBrief summary of book 1-3， spoiler alert 🛑 （view spoiler）[Book 1: Human twin sisters Taryn and Jude Duarte， and their faerie half-sister Vivien （Vivi） lived under the same roof in the human world。 Madoc， a high general of the faerie world and also Vivi's father， showed up at Duarte's house， murdered the twin's parents， and hauled all the kids to the faerie world。 The twin grew up feeling inferior to the faeries and they were often looked down on and bullied。 Basically， the whole humans are inferior， humans are slave kinda trope。 Girls wanted to belong but the paths they chose to be so were very different。 Taryn tried to live and act like the faeries and ended up marrying one dude from the royal family。 Jude， on the other hand， strived to become a knight so that other faeries would respect her。 She was recruited to be a spy instead。 Faeries can't lie， but humans can + faeries can glamour humans to do whatever they want but thanks to a powerful magic spell， Jude can't be glamoured ⇒ Best spy ever。 Royal politics went wrong， Madoc had a hand in it， royal family members betrayed one another and now bad prince Balekin wanted the throne but Jude managed to get Cardan to become the king instead。 Cardan was cruel and an a*hole and Jude hated him but he was a lesser devil than Balekin and Jude found a way to control him and she forced Cardan to become his puppet for a year。Book 2: Taryn's wedding and a lot of scheming involved since only half a year left before Jude losing her control over Cardan。 Jude started to have complicated feelings for Cardan。 In the midst of the drama， the Undersea kingdom became a threat。 Balekin was the ambassador of the Undersea。 More dramas and intrigues。 Jude got kidnap by them mermaid people， then rescued， then married Cardan and became the kween of the faeries， though no one knew about the marriage yet。 Jude killed Balekin， Cardan was poisoned， Madoc still gunned for the throne。 Because of Balekin's murder， Cardan exiled Jude to the human world。 Book 3: Taryn killed her husband so she went to the human world and asked Jude for help since Jude couldn't be glamoured to tell the truth。 Jude pretended to be Taryn and got her off the murder charge。 While back in the faerie land， she discovered Madoc's plan to dethrone Cardan。 Madoc found out that she wasn't Taryn。 Cardan managed to rescue her just in time。 More scheming， more intrigues。 Jude came back to be the queen of Faerie。 Jude and Cardan revealed their feelings for each other。 Now it's Cardan + Jude + Taryn + Vivi and other minions vs Madoc who wanted the throne & the mermaid army who wanted the Faerie kingdom。 Then Cardan was cursed and became one massive serpent。 Jude took a risk and chopped off the serpent's head。 Cardan was rescued， Madoc was arrested and the mermaid army retreated。 Madoc was sentenced to live his life in the human world。 The throne magically split into two， with Jude and Cardan ruling the Faerie land together。 The end。❤️ （hide spoiler）] 。。。more

I enjoyed the story and the characters。 However， there was a lot of back and forth with the characters trusting Jude， and the big climax of the story was a little bit of a let down。 Overall， the enjoyed the series。 They make for a great beach read。
