TLDR: This one has some slightly uncomfortable scenes, but still feels a bit more playful in nature than bullying。 Once again it is between a 2。5 and 3 for me。Longer Review: I actually like some of the comedic parts for this one。 There are less scenes that make you uncomfortable, but there are still a few。 I will say, it could just be the shock in a sense。 Early on, you were somewhat bothered by her bullying, but it could be that by the third volume you don't get bothered as much。 I am not sayin TLDR: This one has some slightly uncomfortable scenes, but still feels a bit more playful in nature than bullying。 Once again it is between a 2。5 and 3 for me。Longer Review: I actually like some of the comedic parts for this one。 There are less scenes that make you uncomfortable, but there are still a few。 I will say, it could just be the shock in a sense。 Early on, you were somewhat bothered by her bullying, but it could be that by the third volume you don't get bothered as much。 I am not saying this is a guarantee, but it is a possibility。 There are also some characters that are introduced (not really introduced, but who appear more frequently), but they will bother you almost every single time that they appear。 The thing with the series that it is starting to do really well is that it is getting you to see our main protagonist as less of an antagonist。 Her teasing still crosses the line, but you start to see more sides to her。 It still feels like a guilty pleasure manga。 The type of thing you would be embarrassed if your friend found out you were reading it。 I wish I could better explain it, but I cannot。 It may make more sense to you if you read it。 As more time passes, it gets closer to a 3 star review than a 2。5。 。。。more

This is a story about two high school students who are uncomfortable dealing with members of the opposite sex。 The boy, known only as "senpai" to the girl and to us (or "paisen" to her friends), is withdrawn and shy。 I was like that when I was in high school; hence my interest。 The girl (Miss Nagatoro) is teasing to the point of bullying, but she obviously has a thing for senpai。 I enjoy the interplay between them so far。 This is a story about two high school students who are uncomfortable dealing with members of the opposite sex。 The boy, known only as "senpai" to the girl and to us (or "paisen" to her friends), is withdrawn and shy。 I was like that when I was in high school; hence my interest。 The girl (Miss Nagatoro) is teasing to the point of bullying, but she obviously has a thing for senpai。 I enjoy the interplay between them so far。 。。。more

Finished this volume in one sitting because I'm hooked on it and note the next volume is only at the pre-order stage。 While I enjoyed this volume, it feels weaker than the first two, perhaps because it mostly feels like a "Part 2" to Volume 2, continuing much of the same thematic elements。。。once more we're able to gauge Nagatoro's real feelings by how she reacts to her female friends deciding to bully HER Senpai without her around。。。she always finds out, or walks in on them and is angry--at them Finished this volume in one sitting because I'm hooked on it and note the next volume is only at the pre-order stage。 While I enjoyed this volume, it feels weaker than the first two, perhaps because it mostly feels like a "Part 2" to Volume 2, continuing much of the same thematic elements。。。once more we're able to gauge Nagatoro's real feelings by how she reacts to her female friends deciding to bully HER Senpai without her around。。。she always finds out, or walks in on them and is angry--at them。 They do at least seem also afraid of Nagatoro themselves and usually back down。 This volume has the obligatory "beach" episode one comes to expect in anime & manga。 It also has some downright wholesome moments like Nagatoro reluctantly inviting Senpai to her house to get out of the driving rain。。。and they wind up playing video games on her brother's console。 Nagatoro shows genuine sweetness from time to time。。。。but if Takagi-san is like the sweetest white chocolate drizzled over a strawberry that is sweet with a hint of tart, Nagatoro is a coffee bean covered in rich, slightly bitter dark chocolate。。。sweet but overpoweringly strong and not for everyone。 。。。more

Ah, the return of my favorite manga dysfunctional relationship。 Usual warning still applies, anyone with a history of being bullied and can't stand to see that it any form, stay far, far away。 With that said, this volume is。。。 different。 The tone is a lot less mean spirited a good portion of the times (making the more problematic bullying scenes more shocking as we don't see them as much)。 Nagatoro honestly seems downright protective of Senpai several times in this volume。 Does that make the rel Ah, the return of my favorite manga dysfunctional relationship。 Usual warning still applies, anyone with a history of being bullied and can't stand to see that it any form, stay far, far away。 With that said, this volume is。。。 different。 The tone is a lot less mean spirited a good portion of the times (making the more problematic bullying scenes more shocking as we don't see them as much)。 Nagatoro honestly seems downright protective of Senpai several times in this volume。 Does that make the relationship between these two any less dysfunctional? Of course not。 We get far more of a focus on Nagatoro's friends in this volume, which honestly is a negative aspect for me。 I like seeing Nagatoro and Senpai's interactions, but her friends I don't particularly care for at all。 The only time I like this dynamic is when Nagatoro sees them go too far and get's a more intimidating design towards them instead, but the joke is done a few too many times with them being more of a focus, and looses a bit of the charm。This is another solid volume, though honestly my least favorite thus far。 Still an enjoyable 3/5, but at this point if you've gotten this far, you know what you're in for and probably know if you'll enjoy it or not without a review。 So either go off and enjoy or stay FAR away。 。。。more

The terror shows she actually cares, more & more。She is VERY possessive of him。 Nothing makes her mader, quicker, that other gal girls trying to mess with him。 You can see that she really likes him。 And he likes her too, but isn't sure how to accept those feelings, let alone do anything about it。 I think she will continue to slowly change sempai, for the positive(?), to be more popular。 Or maybe she just wants to help him step outside his safety zone。 Whatever it is, they make a good pair。 He ma The terror shows she actually cares, more & more。She is VERY possessive of him。 Nothing makes her mader, quicker, that other gal girls trying to mess with him。 You can see that she really likes him。 And he likes her too, but isn't sure how to accept those feelings, let alone do anything about it。 I think she will continue to slowly change sempai, for the positive(?), to be more popular。 Or maybe she just wants to help him step outside his safety zone。 Whatever it is, they make a good pair。 He may be shy, & act like it annoys him, but he likes it that one of the cutest girls in school wants to spend time with him。 Her 2 gal friends though, they aren't very nice to sempai。 They don't realize what's really going on between the 2。 I'm really enjoying this series。 Art, very good。 Dialogue, very real, very good。 Characters, believable, likeable, relatable, and in Nagatoro's place, oh so adorable。 。。。more

The ongoing torment of senpai by Nagatoro continues apace, with the elephant in the room being that the two sort of like one another。 Is this a healthy relationship? Ah, uh。。。 yeah。。。So this is still pretty cute for what it is, even if it feels like it’s getting rougher as it goes in terms of writing and art。 Scenarios basically play out with senpai being tormented by Nagatoro and maybe he does a nice thing or comes to her rescue or she manages to go too far and gets an amusing comeuppance (addi The ongoing torment of senpai by Nagatoro continues apace, with the elephant in the room being that the two sort of like one another。 Is this a healthy relationship? Ah, uh。。。 yeah。。。So this is still pretty cute for what it is, even if it feels like it’s getting rougher as it goes in terms of writing and art。 Scenarios basically play out with senpai being tormented by Nagatoro and maybe he does a nice thing or comes to her rescue or she manages to go too far and gets an amusing comeuppance (adding the latter certainly made the series easier to tolerate)。Honestly, senpai kind of feels like a masochist at this point because he and Nagatoro are pretty much stuck together like glue for this book, even when he’s allegedly trying to avoid her。 Though she hardly makes it easy, in his defence。Some of it works really well - the two of them playing video games is pretty adorable since they both just kind of reach a middle ground in terms of comfort and play off one another’s quirks。 The sno cone chapter is also a highlight。The little single drawings between the chapters are some of the funniest parts - there is a picture of senpai eating anpan (and no I will not give context, it would ruin it) and the look on Nagatoro’s face is just brilliant。I didn’t go back and re-read previous volumes but the art feels like the style has gone ridiculously stringy and Nagatoro has some of the most insane expressions of anything I’ve read lately。 She seems to really be getting cartoonier as the series progresses。Senpai could still use some fleshing out。 He just doesn’t have enough personality to quite match up with Nagatoro - I really wish his sketching was more prominent because it’s a cool character beat and it pays off the somewhat torturous beach section with a pretty cute capper。If I could change one thing about this series, it would be Nagatoro’s two friends, who continue to bully senpai the way that Nagatoro did in the first volume。 By this point she is incredibly protective of senpai and comes to his rescue, but they are relentless to the point where it feels uncomfortable。 Honestly, if you’re triggered by bullying, buyer beware on that point alone。I think this series would mostly appeal to people who like either the Takagi-san series or Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out。 It’s not as kind as either of those, but not as blatantly cheesecake as the latter (though there’s plenty of fan service here)。 I certainly don’t dislike this series, but it’s not a favourite either。 。。。more
