Summary

Fake BookThe Real Books are the best-selling jazz books of all time。 Since the 1970s, musicians have trusted these volumes to get them through every gig, night after night。 The problem is that the books were illegally produced and distributed without any copyrights or royalties paid to the master composers who created these musical canons。 Hal Leonard is very proud to present the first legitimate and legal editions of these books ever produced。 You won't even notice the difference。。。the covers look the same, the engravings look the same, the songlist is nearly identical, and the price remains fair even on a musician's salary But every conscientious musician will appreciate that these books are now produced legally and ethically, benefitting the songwriters that we owe for some of the greatest music ever written 400 songs, including: Air Mail Special * Birdland * Bye Bye Blackbird * Caravan * Doxy * Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words) * Georgia * Girl Talk * I Remember You * I Thought About You * In Walked Bud * The Jodi Grind * Just the Way You Are * Killer Joe * Little Sunflower * Mercy, Mercy, Mercy * Moanin' * The Nearness of You * Now's the Time * Old Devil Moon * Phase Dance * St。 Thomas * Speak Low * Stardust * Tangerine * Tenor Madness * Watch What Happens * Whisper Not * Willow Weep for Me * Yardbird Suite * and more。

I really like the ideas (new technology, etc。) in this series of books, and the plot is compelling enough to keep me and my 8 year-old son on the edge of our seats。

ok so very unexpected ending with taryn dying and cruz being immortal but heres my idea, so what if when he developes the formula since it is cell regenerative he could use it on taryn and bring her back

These books continue to be super fun。 I love that the new tech is just a little too good to be realistic, but is also quite clever。 Auto Auto (for the Self driving cars) is my favorite。 But after the book is over, National Geographic also includes several real life examples of tech being used in conservation with real scientists。 In this book it detailed sea turtle protection, structures to allow for longer undersea dives, and rovs。 I love these connections。 This book felt a little harder to bel These books continue to be super fun。 I love that the new tech is just a little too good to be realistic, but is also quite clever。 Auto Auto (for the Self driving cars) is my favorite。 But after the book is over, National Geographic also includes several real life examples of tech being used in conservation with real scientists。 In this book it detailed sea turtle protection, structures to allow for longer undersea dives, and rovs。 I love these connections。 This book felt a little harder to believe at times, but I really am in love with the characters and am very invested in the overarching storyline。 Looking forward to seeing how things wrap up, likely in the next book or so。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 The book was amazing。 It continued the series wonderfully。 The end was shocking, since death has never really been dealt with outright in the series。 It was always something that could happen in the future, or had happened in the past。 But Taryn dying in Cruz’s arms to save him from Rook was absolutely shocking, and incredibly sad。 And the reveal that Cruz is immortal was incredibly surprising。 Though I’m sure there will be a scientific explanation, that was shocking and a bit too fantastical fo The book was amazing。 It continued the series wonderfully。 The end was shocking, since death has never really been dealt with outright in the series。 It was always something that could happen in the future, or had happened in the past。 But Taryn dying in Cruz’s arms to save him from Rook was absolutely shocking, and incredibly sad。 And the reveal that Cruz is immortal was incredibly surprising。 Though I’m sure there will be a scientific explanation, that was shocking and a bit too fantastical for something published by National Geographic。 。。。more

This book is the best one so far!!! So much happens to EVERYONE involved with Cruz's mission to find his mom's Cipher。(and a few people who aren't involved) There are still so many mysteries that still haven't been solved。 After this book I like Bryndis even more。 Plus,I finally realized how great Taryn really is。 I really enjoyed this book and I recommend this series to everyone。 This book is the best one so far!!! Really fun and thrilling!

What a cliff hanger!

fine, but as usual some parts with so many details in a boring not fast-paced way that you seem to be reading a heavy school textbook instead of an adventure book。

I can safely say that this book surprised me。 The unexpected happened。 Not a lot of authors manage to pull things past me now that I'm older。This series quickly became one of my favorites and the twists keep getting better。 I say "Wait- What?" to myself in a good way。Now to get to the spoilery review part。 (view spoiler)[ So, unexpected #1: Taryn died。 Probably one of the biggest twists in the book。 For once, I found myself a little sad over one of the deaths in a YA/Kid's book。 (I normally feel I can safely say that this book surprised me。 The unexpected happened。 Not a lot of authors manage to pull things past me now that I'm older。This series quickly became one of my favorites and the twists keep getting better。 I say "Wait- What?" to myself in a good way。Now to get to the spoilery review part。 (view spoiler)[ So, unexpected #1: Taryn died。 Probably one of the biggest twists in the book。 For once, I found myself a little sad over one of the deaths in a YA/Kid's book。 (I normally feel nothing at all, so please don't go off about 'a little sad', okay)。 Her death made sense in the writing world (necessary, unavoidable, interesting outcome), so I have nothing to critic about it。 I could write further into it, but I don't think you're reading this because you want someone's death analyzed like the stock market。Unexpect #2: Felipe's not the spy。 If you didn't catch that part, it's hidden in a coded message in one of the pictures (Where Bryndis is in the observation deck, pages 110-111 - The code's the ceasar cipher, too)。 Through books 2-4, it's subtly hinted that Felipe's the one spying on Cruz。 Because of how subtle it was, I fully believed it was him。 But it's not。(I have a few guesses on who the spy might be, if you want to read them: Kwento, Felipe's roommate, who'd be close enough to hear the discussions - - Bryndis, as she's close to Cruz, the coded message was by her, and she borrowed Cruz's bag in book 4 when she could have easily gotten Sailor's - - Dugan。 He seems the least likely of the three to me, as in book 4, he could've easily pushed Cruz to those guys chasing them, but I do have one reason。 He could be spying to help his little brother。 Nebula could very well have offered him something。)Unexpect #3: Cruz is immortal。 Wait- WHAT? Okay, this was the biggest twist of all。 No one would've expected it。 (Except Trudi Trueit herself)。 And, yeah, it makes sense。 At the end of book 3 and at the beginning of book 4, Cruz is in that sinkhole (prob not a sinkhole, but it's the best word I have for it)。 In book 3, his OS band says he had a concussion and a fracture in his toe。 In book 4, after his 13th birthday, the band says he's fine。 Healing power, there's no other explanation。 (One question: Does Brume (Lion) know that Cruz would be immortal by his 13th birthday, or is he just superstitious like Cobra said? Personally, I guess he must know something would happen on Cruz's birthday, but not exactly what。) (hide spoiler)]Good book。 Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk。 。。。more

It’s book 5 of the #exploreracademy series, and I am deeply invested in the characters and story。 I love how it incorporates real science and stunning art work。 I was going to binge read it anyway, then @truditrueit ripped my heart out and I had to finish it。 This is a great book in a great series, but。。。 if teachers or parents have middle graders who love this series as much as I do, they might want to read it first。 I wish I knew when the next book was coming out。
