Really adorable, and occasionally quite funny。 It lacks the bite (pun intended) that the title might lead some to want, but it makes up for it in heart, and some of the episodes, in particular those about the turtle or when the catfish and the shark are stargazing, have just the right amounts of pathos and poignancy。 In its finest moments, it's like a less savvy Calvin & Hobbes, which is perfectly enjoyable in its own right。 Really adorable, and occasionally quite funny。 It lacks the bite (pun intended) that the title might lead some to want, but it makes up for it in heart, and some of the episodes, in particular those about the turtle or when the catfish and the shark are stargazing, have just the right amounts of pathos and poignancy。 In its finest moments, it's like a less savvy Calvin & Hobbes, which is perfectly enjoyable in its own right。 。。。more

What's not to love about sea creatures and expressions of kindness? On page 30, two scenes are depicted。 First scene: a whale near the surface of water, spouting air from his blowhole causing a fountain of water in the air。 He asks himself, "Do I really make a difference?" Second scene: a turtle on a rock basking in the sun, observing a rainbow from the waterspout with the shadow of the whale just below the surface。If you're looking for a quick book to read, this is the one to add to your list。 What's not to love about sea creatures and expressions of kindness? I follow the author on Instagram and LOVE his illustrations。 They are cute and positive and the “visual hug” that we need。 I recommend following him on social media。 And if you don’t have social media, then check out this book。

this is an aggressively wholesome book, which ordinarily wouldn’t appeal to me, but, like a pool party, adding sharks to the equation changes everything。 the intro lets you know exactly what brand of corny-adorable to expect:This is a book about kindness, relationships, and love, and since these are such deep subjects, I’ve made it underwater。it’s cheesy and silly, but these days, we could all do with a bit of both。 the illustrations are very charmingand as far as the sentiments go, even though this is an aggressively wholesome book, which ordinarily wouldn’t appeal to me, but, like a pool party, adding sharks to the equation changes everything。 the intro lets you know exactly what brand of corny-adorable to expect:This is a book about kindness, relationships, and love, and since these are such deep subjects, I’ve made it underwater。it’s cheesy and silly, but these days, we could all do with a bit of both。 the illustrations are very charmingand as far as the sentiments go, even though SOME OF US have become cynical monsters ground down by _______ (noun) and, _______ (recent atrocity), and the  _______ (adjective) state of the world, it’s good to be reminded of certain truths, even if they’re a little trite。like, we’re never as alone as we feeland we contribute value to the world, even when we don’t realize itthere’s also some good advice here in the areas of conflict resolutionand tips on impressing potential employersthe real takeaway here is that even when we fail to live up to our impossible goals we can at least fail adorably。that is the lesson i am choosing to learn here。 it's the same *kind* of book as The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, but it's cuter and funnier, so i didn't feel as emotionally grubby at the end of this one。 now i'm off to fail adorably。。。come to my blog!! 。。。more

Readers will find comics with a cute punchline here, as well as some gentle life advice。 The pages that stuck with me the most were the story of the turtle, who outlives his friend the octopus, and the Great White noticing that the most precious treasure is the rock he met his best friend! Colamares' humour varies from puns and gags to clever twists (I loved the Shark Tank reference)。The author even makes a couple of brief cameos in the book as a human self insert! Readers will also enjoy a playlist of songs to accompany this book by scanning a QR code。 I read it via the Netgalley app so I wasn't able to, but I am curious as to what's on there!Perfect for fans of wholesome online comics, much like on of my 2020 faves, Cat's Cafe Comics。 。。。more

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC to read in exchange for my honest review。I found this book absolutely delightful。 It was cute and relatable and even though a couple of the jokes were a bit corny overall it was wonderful。 I would definitely buy this book for friends as a thoughtful way of expressing my friendship。 The illustrations were adorable and I'd love to get some prints made of a few of them。 Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC to read in exchange for my honest review。I found this book absolutely delightful。 It was cute and relatable and even though a couple of the jokes were a bit corny overall it was wonderful。 I would definitely buy this book for friends as a thoughtful way of expressing my friendship。 The illustrations were adorable and I'd love to get some prints made of a few of them。 。。。more

I received an electronic ARC from Andrews McMeel Publishing through NetGalley。Delightful comics that capture the heart of friendship。 Colmenares offers readers a window into the love and support friends offer each other。 Readers will identify with the universal themes and enjoy the fun and truth when they see these underwater characters interact。 A kind book when we need more kindness in our world。

Sharks are just the sweetest cutie pies in the whole wide world。 Amiright?Seriously, everyone needs a bit of positivity and kindness and love in their life。 Especially in times like these。 Oh, and the funny。 You definitely need some of the funny。Yeah, I can totally see that happen。 Not all of these mostly one or two panel comics are as realistic or as relatable。 Life often sucks。 There’s no way around it。 Unless there is。 Like here。 I think I just needed this book right now。 It made me feel all Sharks are just the sweetest cutie pies in the whole wide world。 Amiright?Seriously, everyone needs a bit of positivity and kindness and love in their life。 Especially in times like these。 Oh, and the funny。 You definitely need some of the funny。Yeah, I can totally see that happen。 Not all of these mostly one or two panel comics are as realistic or as relatable。 Life often sucks。 There’s no way around it。 Unless there is。 Like here。 I think I just needed this book right now。 It made me feel all warm and fluffy, and besides all the content smiles it also made me laugh out loud a couple of times。 Not least at this perfect illustration of my morning self:Now, where’s my coffee? Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in return for an honest review。I know its only February but I don't think I'll regret already calling this one of my favorite books of 2021。 Sweet, bright, heartwarming, and funny - this book is a balm for the soul。 The only thing that disappointed me was that it was over so quickly。 The soundtrack (a code for which is at the end of the book) is also just as comforting and relaxing。 A pure and simple delight。 Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in return for an honest review。I know its only February but I don't think I'll regret already calling this one of my favorite books of 2021。 Sweet, bright, heartwarming, and funny - this book is a balm for the soul。 The only thing that disappointed me was that it was over so quickly。 The soundtrack (a code for which is at the end of the book) is also just as comforting and relaxing。 A pure and simple delight。 。。。more

Thank you for the e-arc NetGalley。 As a lover of all thing in the ocean this just was the sweetest book。 All the critters have these adorable personalities that jump off the pages。 Beautifully written and illustrated (and I’m a sucker for good typography and this has it)。 I’d look at this again and again when I am having a rough day and I’m sure it would cheer me right up。

Love the artwork, everything is so cute。 There is a great mix of humor and inspiring life reminders that can be appreciated by all ages。 This is similar to " The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" but with more humor。 Can really see coming back to this book again and again to read to my son。 Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for review。 Love the artwork, everything is so cute。 There is a great mix of humor and inspiring life reminders that can be appreciated by all ages。 This is similar to " The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" but with more humor。 Can really see coming back to this book again and again to read to my son。 Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for review。 。。。more

When Sharks Attack With Kindness is a wholesome collection of short comics following a shark and his deep sea friends and they go on there daily adventures and spread optimisation throughout the whole ocean。I honestly don’t believe that I have come across a collection of comics or short storys more heart warming and uplifting than these。 The artwork is adorable and fits in with the cute theme running throughout the book。 There is even the bonus of a playlist QR given at the very end of the book。 When Sharks Attack With Kindness is a wholesome collection of short comics following a shark and his deep sea friends and they go on there daily adventures and spread optimisation throughout the whole ocean。I honestly don’t believe that I have come across a collection of comics or short storys more heart warming and uplifting than these。 The artwork is adorable and fits in with the cute theme running throughout the book。 There is even the bonus of a playlist QR given at the very end of the book。 It’s extremely easy reading, but at the same time it will put even the grumpiest person in a happy mood as the characters are just so easy to fall in love with and will stick with you for a long time post-book。 I personally feel that with all the negativity going around the world right now, this book is perfect to snuggle up for 20 minutes with a hot drink and just escape to somewhere more pleasant and peaceful。   。。。more
