One of my absolute favourite books is One Of Us is Lying, so I thought I would give One of Us Is Next a try。 This book was good。 I would say I enjoyed One of us is Lying better, but I like how in this book it continued the story's of the characters from book one。 I also liked how all the characters from book 1 and book 2 are connected。 The mystery wasn't as intriguing, but still a good read!! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 It had a twisted ending。 I loved that I knew from one point who was the murderer already, but at the end it ended being someone that never even crossed my mind。 I cried in the part that Maeve was at the game and Nate came up to her thinking she might've had cancer。 In general, it was great though I think probably I prefer "One of us is lying" better。 It had a twisted ending。 I loved that I knew from one point who was the murderer already, but at the end it ended being someone that never even crossed my mind。 I cried in the part that Maeve was at the game and Nate came up to her thinking she might've had cancer。 In general, it was great though I think probably I prefer "One of us is lying" better。 。。。more

Pretty good sequel。 good YA mystery audiobook。 I like how each of the four characters have their own voice actor。

this book is filled to the brim with high school tropes and cliches。 it feels as though the first book in the series was rung out, the drops collected to make this more watered-down version。 however, unlike the first book, there seems to be a better understanding of how technology works in a high school setting (the idea of a gossip app for just one school was present in the first book, which isn't particularly realistic)。 That being said, this book was fun to read。 I got through it in two days this book is filled to the brim with high school tropes and cliches。 it feels as though the first book in the series was rung out, the drops collected to make this more watered-down version。 however, unlike the first book, there seems to be a better understanding of how technology works in a high school setting (the idea of a gossip app for just one school was present in the first book, which isn't particularly realistic)。 That being said, this book was fun to read。 I got through it in two days and couldn't read it fast enough。 The characters all had a really nice depth and it was cool to build on the main characters from the last book without completely focusing on them。 This didn't feel like a natural continuation for a second book but the interesting characters definitely carried the story。 。。。more

It was a great read but could be hard to follow at times! Worth it, but more confusing than One of us is Lying!

In my opinion the first book was better。 It might have been because I felt more connected with the original characters or I just didn't enjoy the story as much。 However it was still a great book to read! This was so good! I love McManus style of writing, I love the characters, I love the mystery。 This one was a little more foreseeable than the first book。 I still flew through it and I want more! One of my fave books this year!

Karen McManus strikes again with another thrilling mystery, but this time starring Maeve Rojas, tech-savvy little sister of one of the Bayview four; Knox, her ex-boyfriend; and Phoebe, who works at Café Contigo。 When the three juniors all fall victim to a vicious revamp of the Simon’s app—Truth or Dare—and secrets are revealed, friendships are tested and lives are in danger。 Recommend reading One of Us is Lying before One of Us is Next because the setting, school, and characters overlap frequent Karen McManus strikes again with another thrilling mystery, but this time starring Maeve Rojas, tech-savvy little sister of one of the Bayview four; Knox, her ex-boyfriend; and Phoebe, who works at Café Contigo。 When the three juniors all fall victim to a vicious revamp of the Simon’s app—Truth or Dare—and secrets are revealed, friendships are tested and lives are in danger。 Recommend reading One of Us is Lying before One of Us is Next because the setting, school, and characters overlap frequently。 Great for fans of big plot twists and readers who like to solve the mystery themselves。 。。。more

Definitely not as good as the prequel。 Story lines were okay but not nearly as suspenseful as the first book。 I did enjoy the plot twist at the end however。

A good sequel to the 'One of Us Is Lying' thriller。 I enjoyed the multiple narrative voices allowing for varied perspectives on the drama allowing the final outcome to tie together nicely。 Felt it was a little slow in areas, but overall was pretty good! I really hope there will be a third book in this series。 The ending left way too many openings for me to be satisfied!! This series is honestly super creepy and a bit scary tbh, but still so good。 With every page there is a new turn and you never know where it'll end。 In the first book, I was pretty clueless but in this I kinda figured out who was behind it somewhere halfway through。 However, I never could've guessed the whole story and all the why's。 I mean wow!

100% better than book 1 which is so rare

OMG MY HANDS ARE ACTUALLY TREMBLING。。。。wow I have forgotten how much I love thrillers and mysteries。 I swear with this book it was like as soon as I had my theory on who the base 'criminal' was I just focused on that one person and was blind to everything else。 Like sure I was right about that but OMG WOW that last curveball right at the end shook me。 Like I am S H A K I N G。 Wow words have failed me that was so good。 OMG MY HANDS ARE ACTUALLY TREMBLING。。。。wow I have forgotten how much I love thrillers and mysteries。 I swear with this book it was like as soon as I had my theory on who the base 'criminal' was I just focused on that one person and was blind to everything else。 Like sure I was right about that but OMG WOW that last curveball right at the end shook me。 Like I am S H A K I N G。 Wow words have failed me that was so good。 。。。more

Ok, what the hell did I just read??? More importantly, at this point, what the hell did I spend my money on? I hate this book just as passionately as I loved the first one! This can't be right。。。 Please tell me that this is a joke, Karen can't have written this boring, idiotic plot after the first masterpiece that left me with an open mouth。。。 And you, guys, ONCE AGAIN, give 4 and 5 star ratings to books like this。。。 I'm frustrated to no end, really。 More with the community, than with anything e Ok, what the hell did I just read???

The novel is about another group of students at the same high school in the 1st novel。 Some of the characters are interconnected so itd be easier to follow if you read One of us is lying 1st。 Anyways the new students get anonymous texts that lead to a deadly game of truth or dare。 Secrets unfold and truths are unmasked。 Would you complete an embarrassing or deadly dare? Would you do it if someone was willing to share a secret you'd rather stay hidden about yourself?
