Summary

This is such a good series, but I really want to see this animated。 Maybe it's because I watched the anime first, but I prefer it in its animated form。 Probably because I can actually hear the music, and I really, really wanna hear the song in this。 This is such a good series, but I really want to see this animated。 Maybe it's because I watched the anime first, but I prefer it in its animated form。 Probably because I can actually hear the music, and I really, really wanna hear the song in this。 。。。more

Love will always end in death or heartbreak。 But, perhaps, music can help you connect to those you’re trying to reach。 tI was iffy with Given up until this point (tbh, I still am), but this volume really gets to the crux of the story’s message。 You can draw a parallel between the stories of Mafuyu and Yuki and Ugetsu and Akihiko。 They’re all dealing with people who won’t be in their lives anymore, in one way or another。 But, no matter how your last love ended, there are always parts of that love Love will always end in death or heartbreak。 But, perhaps, music can help you connect to those you’re trying to reach。 tI was iffy with Given up until this point (tbh, I still am), but this volume really gets to the crux of the story’s message。 You can draw a parallel between the stories of Mafuyu and Yuki and Ugetsu and Akihiko。 They’re all dealing with people who won’t be in their lives anymore, in one way or another。 But, no matter how your last love ended, there are always parts of that love that still remain in you。 No matter how much pain you’re feeling right now, the new day will come, new love will come into your life。 tI’m looking forward to where the story goes from here。 As much as Akihiko’s and Haruki’s story touched me, I’m still looking forward to more Uenoyama and Mafuyu (especially Uenoyama。 I feel like Mafuyu gets all the hype cuz he’s baby, but my man, Uenoyama, is trying so hard to do right by Mafuyu and be there for him when he’s in pain)。 tFuck limerence! Fuck grief! GIVE ME LOVE!!! 。。。more

I don’t usually give stars on my reviews, but this time I will, because this manga is one of the best BL I’ve ever read and it keeps getting better and better。First of all, I love the fact that even the most problematic scenes (like the infamous one from the previous volume between Akihiko and Haruki) are NEVER romanticized。 You are always completely aware of what is wrong and what is right, there are no justification。When I read that scene I was PETRIFIED, not really for the scene itself, but b I don’t usually give stars on my reviews, but this time I will, because this manga is one of the best BL I’ve ever read and it keeps getting better and better。First of all, I love the fact that even the most problematic scenes (like the infamous one from the previous volume between Akihiko and Haruki) are NEVER romanticized。 You are always completely aware of what is wrong and what is right, there are no justification。When I read that scene I was PETRIFIED, not really for the scene itself, but because I was afraid the resolution of it was going to be too fast。But I was wrong。 The evolution of the relationship between Haruki, Akihito and Murata is just amazing and honestly painful。 Every single character in this story has his own story, background, expectations and evolution。Even if this volume focuses more on Haruki and Akihiko, we can sense something is changing for Mafuyu as well。 A painful but necessary change, and I honestly feel like crying just thinking about that。I can’t wait for the next volume。 。。。more

Every time I read a new volume of this manga, I remember how much I love it。The way that the characters playing music is drawn is amazing and that fact it comes across so well it's insane seeing as we literally can not hear the music they're playing。Brb off to watch the movie now, that I just remembered has been released worldwide earlier this month。。。 Every time I read a new volume of this manga, I remember how much I love it。The way that the characters playing music is drawn is amazing and that fact it comes across so well it's insane seeing as we literally can not hear the music they're playing。Brb off to watch the movie now, that I just remembered has been released worldwide earlier this month。。。 。。。more

Another fun installment in one of my favorite current manga series! I absolutely love the pacing of this series and the author's ability to keep us interested in all four members of the band。 This series started out as though it would be a typical romance sort of manga, but I feel like it's really evolved from that and included a lot of the side characters to the point in which there are no "main characters" now。 Everyone seems to be treated equally and as important as one another which I really Another fun installment in one of my favorite current manga series! It keeps things interesting and doesn't mean you get burnt out on reading the same relationship drama over and over。 Per usual, Given Volume 5 picks up from where the last volume left off。 Akihiko and Haruki are both still trying to figure out how they feel about not only one another, but life itself。 Akihiko is trying to get over his on and off ex and roommate and reassess his love for music while Haruki is doing his best to move on while also letting Akihiko stay with him so he avoids running from his problems。 Of course, this brings about more problems, but they're surprisingly facing these issues head on rather than continually running from all of their problems。 Mafuyu is trying to get the confidence and inspiration to write a new song for the band's next competition, and he uses his friendship with his bandmates and their lives as inspiration as the day of the performance grows closer。 It's hard to talk about this series as it goes on because there's so much that's a spoiler and also so much that it makes it hard to explain if you haven't read the previous volumes。 This is absolute a series in which you have to read everything in a specific order or you will miss out on all the nuance and backstory within these relationships, but I think that's one of it's strengths。 The relationships between the four members of the band, be it romantic or friendship, is what really drives this series and for that I think it's absolutely stellar。 Blog / Twitter / Instagram 。。。more

I really love all these characters。 I wasn’t sure Akihiko & Haruki would be good for each other。 But after seeing everything in this volume。。。I think they might work。

The best volume。 We got to see more of Akihiko and Kaji, that’s all I needed。

This volume feels like the closing of a chapter and a brilliant new beginning。 I was very scared of how Haruki and Akihito's relationship was going to be after volume 4。 So many relationships in BL that start similarly don't ring true as how can you really recover from that kind of situation。 As you see Akihito struggle to come to terms with his past and with Ugetsu, we get the sense that that part of his life is actually over。 We can see he is ready to take hold of something that has scared him This volume feels like the closing of a chapter and a brilliant new beginning。 I was very scared of how Haruki and Akihito's relationship was going to be after volume 4。 So many relationships in BL that start similarly don't ring true as how can you really recover from that kind of situation。 As you see Akihito struggle to come to terms with his past and with Ugetsu, we get the sense that that part of his life is actually over。 We can see he is ready to take hold of something that has scared him for so long。 And I definitely appreciate his newfound love for music as music is a definitely aspect of all of our main character。 This volume left me very raw emotionally and I cannot wait for volume 6。 Now to watch the movie! 。。。more
