I cannot imagine a better interpretation of Ahsoka and how she has been feeling after Order 66! So good!!!!

First off, it's narrated by freaking Ahsoka Tano herself, Ashley Eckstein, which makes this audiobook so much cooler than it already was。Secondly, I stan Ahsoka。 Yeah, I said it。 Stan。 It was bound to happen at some point。 My using the word stan, not my love for Ahsoka。 My love for Ahsoka has been there since first watching "The Clone Wars" duh。 So getting to continue her journey and further learn more backstory was awesome。My only question is, 'what took me so long?' I think honestly the answer was that I needed the audiobook version to come into my life。 I had picked the print book up numerous times but just couldn't get into it。 But then after having the baby and starting to listen to more audiobooks (so freaking convenient) I thought I would give it a try。 And as soon as I hit play, and heard the voice of Ashley Eckstein, I knew I had made the right choice。 Also, I ship Ahsoka and Kaeden。 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That's just how I be。 。。。more

As a huge Star Wars fan, I'm extremely biased, but this was one of the best entries I've read in the Star Wars canon (what little remains)。 Every chapter left me wanting more, so I just kept reading til it was done in only a few sittings haha。 This book ties in perfectly with the Star Wars Rebels series, and I'm sure it'll be the primary source of backstory for the upcoming Ahsoka TV series。 My favorite parts, relevant lore, and names that will probably pop up again:(view spoiler)[ Master Obi-Wan As a huge Star Wars fan, I'm extremely biased, but this was one of the best entries I've read in the Star Wars canon (what little remains)。 Every chapter left me wanting more, so I just kept reading til it was done in only a few sittings haha。 This book ties in perfectly with the Star Wars Rebels series, and I'm sure it'll be the primary source of backstory for the upcoming Ahsoka TV series。 My favorite parts, relevant lore, and names that will probably pop up again:(view spoiler)[ Master Obi-Wan would have tried to charm himself through and would invariably have ended up making as much noise as Anakin anyway。 Haha so true。 In the dust on the planet’s surface, Hedala Fardi played with her cousins in the empty yard where her family’s ships docked。 The ugly feeling that had been bothering her for the past few days, like a toothache or a dark spot in the corner of her eye that she could never quite bring into focus, suddenly lifted, like the sun coming out from behind a cloud。 She took her turn at the toss-and-catch game and was perfect as usual, making her shot with no real effort。 Her older sibling and cousins didn’t question her skill at the game。 It had long since ceased to be a wonder to them。 Incoming Jedi prodigy。 He’d gone to Shmi Skywalker’s grave to apologize for losing her son。 He had never met her, knew her only from Anakin’s stories, but Qui-Gon had made her a promise and Obi-Wan hadn’t been able to keep it。 As he stood there, looking at the stone, he felt an even deeper shame。 Qui-Gon had left her there a slave, and Obi-Wan had done everything in his power to prevent Anakin’s return。 It was only the love of a good man, here on Tatooine, that had saved her—the kind of love the Jedi were supposed to eschew。 Yet it had done something the Jedi could not。 The Jedi are not infallible, and their rejection of love was a huge misstep。 “Ahsoka!” Kaeden ran toward her, but stopped short of throwing her good arm around Ahsoka’s shoulder。 She knew that lightsabers were not to be trifled with。 She could almost feel the power pouring out of Ahsoka anyway。 It was amazing。 “I could kiss you。” Ahsoka stopped in her tracks。 The look she shot Kaeden was mildly confused。 “Not now, I mean,” Kaeden said。 She wanted to laugh for the first time in weeks but thought that might just be the hysteria setting in。 “My timing is terrible and you have all those Jedi hang-ups。 I just wanted you to know in case we die。” “Oh,” said Ahsoka。 “Well, thanks。” She paused。 “And we are not going to die。” Love interest?! “I’ve never seen white ones before,” Bail mused。 “They used to be red,” Ahsoka said。 “When the creature had them, they were red。 But I heard them before I ever saw him on Raada, and knew that they were meant for me。” “You changed their nature?” he asked。 “I restored them,” Ahsoka replied。 “I freed them。 The red crystals were corrupted by the dark side when those who wielded them bent them to their will。 They call it making the crystal bleed。 That’s why the blade is red。” (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

Really enjoyed this adventure with Ahsoka。 It’s a slow build with lots of hints and nods, but the last 50ish pages really moved so much that I couldn’t stop reading。A must for Ahsoka and Star Wars fans who want to explore more of this galaxy。

A fun read for Star Wars fans, but as a book on its own, I found it lacking basic structure。 There were also a few annoying errors, (view spoiler)[ like someone calling Ahsoka by her real name rather than the fake name they're supposed to know her by。 (hide spoiler)] Contains little p。o。v。s from beloved characters like Anakin and Obi-wan, but they had nothing to do with the story other than appeasing fans。 A fun read for Star Wars fans, but as a book on its own, I found it lacking basic structure。 There were also a few annoying errors, (view spoiler)[ like someone calling Ahsoka by her real name rather than the fake name they're supposed to know her by。 (hide spoiler)] Contains little p。o。v。s from beloved characters like Anakin and Obi-wan, but they had nothing to do with the story other than appeasing fans。 。。。more

Another disappointing Star Wars book。 Ahsoka is my favorite character, so this really hurt。 The friendship between her and Kaeden felt forced and not well-developed, so why bring in the lesbian romance factor (albeit one-sided)。 The story itself had potential—could have gone the route of Snips crossing the galaxy to save all the force-sensitive kids instead of just focusing on Raada。 Characters were under-developed and choppy。 Ahsoka acted in character for the most part, so there is that。 Just f Another disappointing Star Wars book。 Ahsoka is my favorite character, so this really hurt。 The friendship between her and Kaeden felt forced and not well-developed, so why bring in the lesbian romance factor (albeit one-sided)。 The story itself had potential—could have gone the route of Snips crossing the galaxy to save all the force-sensitive kids instead of just focusing on Raada。 Characters were under-developed and choppy。 Ahsoka acted in character for the most part, so there is that。 Just felt cheap, overall。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book。 The beginning was a bit slow, so that’s why I only gave it four stars。 The rest of it was good though! I’ve always loved Ahsoka。 She’s probably my favorite character in the whole Star Wars universe。 That’s why this book was really enjoyable for me。 You probably want to watch Clone Wars and Rebels before you read this, though。 Great book!

Over the last fifteen years or so Ahsoka has become one of the best, most fleshed out characters in the entire Star Wars franchise。 I hesitate to say this but she may be my favorite of them all。 That said this is an interesting story that fills in the gap of where she ends up at the end of Clone Wars and the beginning of Rebels, and if you're like me reading some and listening to others I think this one benefits from the audiobook since it's read by Ashley Eckstein who has voiced the character i Over the last fifteen years or so Ahsoka has become one of the best, most fleshed out characters in the entire Star Wars franchise。 I hesitate to say this but she may be my favorite of them all。 That said this is an interesting story that fills in the gap of where she ends up at the end of Clone Wars and the beginning of Rebels, and if you're like me reading some and listening to others I think this one benefits from the audiobook since it's read by Ashley Eckstein who has voiced the character in almost every appearance。 I don't think it's a must read by any means, and it is awkward that some flashbacks have since been contradicted by the fantastic Clone Wars Season 7 that came out last year。 。。。more

This story is well-plotted and well-paced。 There is just enough familiarity to tie in to the larger framework of the Star Wars universe, but the story is new and helps to fill in the thinner parts of the Skywalker saga。 Plus, if you try to tell me that this book doesn't have sapphic energy, you are being intentionally obtuse。 It's quite good; not world-changing, but quite good。 This story is well-plotted and well-paced。 There is just enough familiarity to tie in to the larger framework of the Star Wars universe, but the story is new and helps to fill in the thinner parts of the Skywalker saga。 Plus, if you try to tell me that this book doesn't have sapphic energy, you are being intentionally obtuse。 It's quite good; not world-changing, but quite good。 。。。more

You can watch a semi-animated video review on my book tube channel。'Ahsoka' is a Disney Canon novel published in 2016 - but one that I read just now。 It fills in the bits of Ahsoka's story from her escape from Order 66 to her taking on the mantle of 'Fulcrum', whom we see in Rebels。 If you are not familiar with the character, here is a short introduction。 Ahsoka Tano became Anakin Skywalker's Padawan in The Clone Wars animated movie and series。 Her introduction was controversial, but soon, she w You can watch a semi-animated video review on my book tube channel。'Ahsoka' is a Disney Canon novel published in 2016 - but one that I read just now。 It fills in the bits of Ahsoka's story from her escape from Order 66 to her taking on the mantle of 'Fulcrum', whom we see in Rebels。 If you are not familiar with the character, here is a short introduction。 Ahsoka Tano became Anakin Skywalker's Padawan in The Clone Wars animated movie and series。 Her introduction was controversial, but soon, she won over fans due to her plucky nature and her snippy attitude with Anakin。 In later seasons, Ahsoka left the Jedi Order。 Her next canonical appearance is in the Rebels animation series, where she is older and leading a resistance against the Empire。 Post-that she made her appearance in an episode of 'The Mandalorian'。This book is a mixed bag。On the positive side, this portion of Ahsoka's life has been a mystery, and many a Star Wars fan will be happy to know what she was up to during the Empire's takeover, myself included。 The book also delves into her frustration between upholding the Jedi Order's ideals versus the Order's actions in the Clone Wars。 We see the logical conclusion of this dilemma, which started when Padawan Bariss framed her and made her question what the Jedi were doing。 There are also appearances and references to many characters from all across the Star Wars universe。 But that said, there is plenty that needs improvement too。 For one, the book is too short。 Then, there is a love story element that is out of place and doesn't go anywhere。 Finally, most of the book's essential beats have been set up earlier - so the book does not have much to offer beyond filling in some of the missing portions of Ahsoka's story。In conclusion, if you are a fan of the character, this book will probably appeal to you。 For others, it is average and is best read if there isn't anything else available。 。。。more

Although this is the Star Wars novel I've rated the lowest so far, it was an enjoyable read。 Ahsoka Tano is one of my favourite characters from Clone Wars and Rebels, which is why I bought the novel。 The book just had moments when I felt as if I was watching the unfortunate part of the Clone Wars where Ahsoka works with the Martez sisters。 The Raada people were written very naively and childlike at times。 Which is fine, but after having read the Thrawn and Revan novels this book was a little dis Although this is the Star Wars novel I've rated the lowest so far, it was an enjoyable read。 Ahsoka Tano is one of my favourite characters from Clone Wars and Rebels, which is why I bought the novel。 The book just had moments when I felt as if I was watching the unfortunate part of the Clone Wars where Ahsoka works with the Martez sisters。 The Raada people were written very naively and childlike at times。 Which is fine, but after having read the Thrawn and Revan novels this book was a little disappointing。 I certainly do hope someone will fix Ahsoka's nose on the cover art in the future。 She deserves better。 。。。more

This Star Wars novel follows fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano on her first real solo adventure, helping to fill in the gap between her appearances on the animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels。 (And because this franchise's release schedule is all out of chronological order: it was written in 2016, halfway through the latter series and after the former had finished its initial run, but before it returned for a proper final season on Disney+。 I honestly couldn't even say what the most reasona This Star Wars novel follows fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano on her first real solo adventure, helping to fill in the gap between her appearances on the animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels。 (And because this franchise's release schedule is all out of chronological order: it was written in 2016, halfway through the latter series and after the former had finished its initial run, but before it returned for a proper final season on Disney+。 I honestly couldn't even say what the most reasonable way to consume these stories is at this point。)It's a fun outing with a reliably engaging protagonist, not to mention an interesting look at the early Empire days for the galaxy, set about a year since the movie Revenge of the Sith。 There seems to be a lot of setup for the Rebels cartoon in particular -- some of which I likely missed, as I've only recently started watching that -- but it's overall a roaring good time that shades in the era nicely。 And while author E。 K。 Johnson somewhat weakens the narrative as a standalone text by throwing in a few unnecessary scenes like Obi-Wan meditating that have zero thematic or plot connections with the main action, at least those moments should be understood just fine by the book's presumably diehard audience。[Content warning for torture。]Find me on Patreon | Goodreads | Blog | Twitter 。。。more

Ahsoka Tano is one of the best characters in Star Wars。 This book does a great job of bridging the gap between her last appearance in the Clone Wars show and her first appearance in Rebels。 There are some slight conflicts with Clone Wars season 7 (I think I generally prefer the show's version of events), but nothing that changes much。 The audiobook was read by Ashley Eckstein, Ahsoka's voice actor, which was a really nice touch。 If you're a fan of the character, check it out。 Ahsoka Tano is one of the best characters in Star Wars。 This book does a great job of bridging the gap between her last appearance in the Clone Wars show and her first appearance in Rebels。 There are some slight conflicts with Clone Wars season 7 (I think I generally prefer the show's version of events), but nothing that changes much。 The audiobook was read by Ashley Eckstein, Ahsoka's voice actor, which was a really nice touch。 If you're a fan of the character, check it out。 。。。more
