I think the title of the book describes it well。 It’s thoughts， random thoughts — the kind of thoughts someone would have at 23:00 as they put their head on a pillow then think “this could be a Facebook status” wake up and post it。 I wanted to give this book 2 stars but it’s more like 1。5 because there’s honestly a few good thoughts （note: not once will I say poems/poetry referring to this book because this ain’t poetry）。 “You told me that I was your rose， but in the winter you turned your atten I think the title of the book describes it well。 It’s thoughts， random thoughts — the kind of thoughts someone would have at 23:00 as they put their head on a pillow then think “this could be a Facebook status” wake up and post it。 I wanted to give this book 2 stars but it’s more like 1。5 because there’s honestly a few good thoughts （note: not once will I say poems/poetry referring to this book because this ain’t poetry）。 “You told me that I was your rose， but in the winter you turned your attention to all the other flowers in the garden instead of tending to my fallen petals。” If this is poetry， label me Shakespeare after reading this review because Courtney Peppernell shared random thoughts and published them as a poetry book。 I spent more time reading reviews about this book hoping it will inspire me to finish it， but even the reviews which gave the book 5 stars had no valid reasons for doing that， just people who are easily impressed by （for a lack of a better word） garbage。 I’m hesitant to read more Peppernell’s other offerings since I’ve found out this series has 3 more books， honestly this book just put me off poetry books completely。 。。。more

This book is one that is not meant to be read in one sitting。 Its meant to be read when there is some upheaval or emotional turmoil going on。 If I would have read this at any other time than this point right now， it may have seemed slightly cheesy and generic。 But because I’m reading it in a head space of losing a loved one and have mental health problems on bad days; it seems more meaningful to have read one either most of a section or just a poem or two。

I loved this book even though at times i felt like some of the pieces where seen by me before。 I liked it especially the different chapters where the poet dedicated a number of pieces to a certain topic。 Some of the pieces really gave me strength and closure :）

I feel like liking this poetry collection really depends on your own experiences and how much you can relate。 Although its only small poems a handful of certain quotes leave a really deep impact on you and you cannot forgot them。 Some of my favourites "I am in awe of even the way you walk and yet you walk right past me" ^ THIS。 I don't even know why this is my favourite one it just is。 I think about this so often its a problem istg。 "People should fall in love more。 Fall in love with the way you I feel like liking this poetry collection really depends on your own experiences and how much you can relate。 Although its only small poems a handful of certain quotes leave a really deep impact on you and you cannot forgot them。 Some of my favourites "I am in awe of even the way you walk and yet you walk right past me" ^ THIS。 I don't even know why this is my favourite one it just is。 I think about this so often its a problem istg。 "People should fall in love more。 Fall in love with the way your coffee swirls as soon as you pour the milk in。 Fall in love with the look your dog gives you when you wake up。。。" ^ This entire poem in particular made me feel so not alone because I haven't seen anyone who enjoys these smallest things in life and get so excited and happy about these things。 There's a whole lot more of these beautiful phrases that i can't stop thinking about。 I teared up a little relating to these and also feeling the pain they've experienced。 It's such a good collection。 And the contents oml is the best contents page I have ever seen。 Its literally perfect to get to the poems that you need at that moment。 The 'if you are in love' and 'if you need a reason to stay' are probably my favourite 。。。more

Beautiful， eloquently written words。 Truly the epitome of ‘pillow thoughts。’ Random thoughts you jot down at 3am into your journal。 I love poetry that shatters you， yet makes you find your will to mend again。 I need words strued together that make you wonder about everything。 it most certainly is authentic， sincere， and heart-warming。 Pillow thoughts truly is what it is- the good， the bad。 The ugly。 The lovely。

I really enjoyed this book。 I originally discovered this book through Pinterest。 Wish I read Peppernell’s books before I read Amanda Lovelace and Rupi Kaur books。 They are almost identical reads。 But with Peppernell there was more substance。

Perhaps like me， you read Kate Baer and found yourself wanting more poetry in your life and this book was sitting in the aisle at Target next to Baer and so you bought it。 Return it。 This book has no depth。 It’s written from the POV of a 23yo whose only life experience is falling in and out of love。 I kept wanting more， but there was nothing else。 It reads like post it notes thoughts written by a college co-Ed who was day drinking。 Save yourself from this one。
