Summary

This took a while to get going for me。The world was built well and I enjoyed the picture that was created through description but for me there could have been more build in the relationships before she returns home。The book for me only gets going once she returns to save Tamlin and there's definitely more that could be written about her time under the mountain。It doesn't fill me with a need to pick up book 2 but I'm not totally put off by doing so。 This took a while to get going for me。The world was built well and I enjoyed the picture that was created through description but for me there could have been more build in the relationships before she returns home。The book for me only gets going once she returns to save Tamlin and there's definitely more that could be written about her time under the mountain。It doesn't fill me with a need to pick up book 2 but I'm not totally put off by doing so。 。。。more

I’m excited to read the next one and learn more about Feyre and Tamlin。

This book wasn’t for me。 I didn’t love the characters, but I thought the world building was excellent。 There isn’t much that I can be critical of, because I thought the writing was very good, but I wasn’t that interested in Feyre and Tamlin’s romance。 I went into this mostly blind because I knew it was a popular fantasy series。 I can’t dock any stars just because it didn’t suit my tastes。

Really liked this story and am excited to continue the series。 I thought Feyre was a great main character。 I enjoyed the mystery regarding the blight and how the secrets unfolded。

It would be so much more logical for her to just say she didn't love Tamlin and they'd be done with it (hide spoiler)]。 Also, Feyre's always doing her own thing and not listening to anyone who tells her anything, which gets annoying super fast。 Tamlin is the character I could care less about。 He was just a bland stale cracker of a person and I couldn't bring myself to give a fuck。 I've heard that he gets worse in later books, so I'm not looking forward to that。 As for being a love interest for Feyre, he's better than Rhysand and I think they have okay-ish chemistry。 I don't see why Feyre likes him。 Rhysand, who I pronounced as "Rai - sond" for the first half of the book, was a toxic and bitchy character。 I hated him。 Like we get it, Feyre, you're so horny for his sexy abs, but I really don't care- Lucien was the little bean of this book and I liked him。 Or maybe I'm just saying that because I literally hated everyone in this book and I desperately need to like someone。 Either way。 Amarantha was one of the worst antagonists/villains I've ever read about。 She had nothing special that made her stand out as opposed to other villains, and I was just annoyed whenever she was there。 The Writing of this book was actually okay。 It was average, I didn't notice the writing to be bad but I didn't notice it to be good either。 The Plot was bad and nonexistant。 I just wanted to murder this book for the slow pacing and uneventful plotline。Also, can we talk about the line "'I love you,' I said, and stabbed him。" I WAS WHEEZING FOR LIKE 10 MINUTES- 。。。more

3。5Well that was interesting。。。Firstly I liked all the different fairytale references, and I got a little lady Macbeth vibes with the fantom blood, which was cool。 I thought the start was a bit slow, the romance seemed a bit rushed, they barely get to a point were they can tolerate each other before they sort of get together?I missed some world building。。。I liked most of the characters。。。 But think it's a shame, the whole reason for the curse is told by a side character。Overall it was okay, I'll 3。5Well that was interesting。。。Firstly I liked all the different fairytale references, and I got a little lady Macbeth vibes with the fantom blood, which was cool。 I thought the start was a bit slow, the romance seemed a bit rushed, they barely get to a point were they can tolerate each other before they sort of get together?I missed some world building。。。I liked most of the characters。。。 But think it's a shame, the whole reason for the curse is told by a side character。Overall it was okay, I'll continue on with the series for now。 I can see why people love it。 。。。more

Okay this is my first of Sarah。 J。 Mass and I really like the book。 Specially the way she showed tamlin and Feyre's bantar。 Lucian is also my favorite。 Indeed he is a best friend。 But truly speaking I don't like Feyre。 Specially after start reading second book。 She is highly disappointed me。 And same I can say for author。 This book is end on good note but what writers do in next book is not acceptable for me。 Might other likes the way story moves but for me Feyre is selfish and unstable girl for Okay this is my first of Sarah。 J。 Mass and I really like the book。 Specially the way she showed tamlin and Feyre's bantar。 Lucian is also my favorite。 Indeed he is a best friend。 But truly speaking I don't like Feyre。 Specially after start reading second book。 She is highly disappointed me。 And same I can say for author。 This book is end on good note but what writers do in next book is not acceptable for me。 Might other likes the way story moves but for me Feyre is selfish and unstable girl for sure。 。。。more

I forgot how much I loved this book until I reread it。 Reading it with a little bit more life under my belt made me love Rhys even more。 The complexity of his character under the mountain was something I completely forgot about。 I will say this: Feyre’s obsessive love for Tamlin reminded me of what a first love was like。 I can’t wait to reread the rest of the series— mostly because I can’t wait for Nesta’s character to develop and be part of the story line。 And, obviously to reread everything ab I forgot how much I loved this book until I reread it。 Reading it with a little bit more life under my belt made me love Rhys even more。 The complexity of his character under the mountain was something I completely forgot about。 I will say this: Feyre’s obsessive love for Tamlin reminded me of what a first love was like。 I can’t wait to reread the rest of the series— mostly because I can’t wait for Nesta’s character to develop and be part of the story line。 And, obviously to reread everything about Rhys ! 。。。more

Started reading this book because of booktok, obviously。 Pleasantly surprised, although I woulnd’t reread this book。 It’s a good read and it kept me going。 Finished it in about three days, and couldn’t wait to get onto the next one。 Which supersedes this one by a mile!
