O ARC desse livro foi provido pela editora através do Netfalley em troca de uma opinião honesta。Esse livro vai acompanhar o inicio da jornada do Fitz， o bastardo do filho mais velho do rei， que esta se tornando um assassino para o rei。 A historia tem um ritmo lento e capítulos longos que podem cansar um pouco mas é compensado pela escrita do autor que prende na história e possui um talento para a construção do universo do livro sem explicar mais do que o necessário e deixando espaço para crescim O ARC desse livro foi provido pela editora através do Netfalley em troca de uma opinião honesta。Esse livro vai acompanhar o inicio da jornada do Fitz， o bastardo do filho mais velho do rei， que esta se tornando um assassino para o rei。 A historia tem um ritmo lento e capítulos longos que podem cansar um pouco mas é compensado pela escrita do autor que prende na história e possui um talento para a construção do universo do livro sem explicar mais do que o necessário e deixando espaço para crescimento deste nos próximos livros。Na conclusão do livro é possível sentir toda a agonia dos acontecimento acelerado ocorrendo que podem causar grandes alterações no reino do Fitz com mortes mas com justificativa e que não se sente que foram gratuitas （exatamente o ao contrario）。A tradução feita pela editora Suma fico boa （realizei a comparação fazendo a leitura ao mesmo tempo do livro em inglês） com adaptações necessárias e bem feitas。 E uma leitura que eu recomendo para quem gosta de livros livros de fantasia mais longos。 。。。more

I loved it。 In particular， I loved how the dogs in this book were the actual， real heroes， and not in the weird， farcical way of that word。 Personality， desires， choice and agency。 Reminds you of all those incredible stories you hear about the heroics of animals in real life。

I loved this SO much。 Cried multiple times。 Might throw away all my reading plans and just read this trilogy and all the other trilogies set in this world。 The Fool has now become one of my favourite characters of all time <3<3<3

4/3/21: 5 stars。 This book was so good， I loved it so much。 It is a very character-driven narrative of a prince’s bastard son who grows up in court and simultaneously faces disdain and is trained to be useful to the king。 And he has a strange magical connection with dogs。 And lots of court intrigue。 I really thought that though the pacing was slow， it was perfect for the story told， and though the prose took effort to read， it was the good kind of effort， the kind that rewarded me for trying。 Bu 4/3/21: 5 stars。 This book was so good， I loved it so much。 It is a very character-driven narrative of a prince’s bastard son who grows up in court and simultaneously faces disdain and is trained to be useful to the king。 And he has a strange magical connection with dogs。 And lots of court intrigue。 I really thought that though the pacing was slow， it was perfect for the story told， and though the prose took effort to read， it was the good kind of effort， the kind that rewarded me for trying。 But this story really shined in its characterization of both main and side characters。 I really think this is the best character work I’ve ever seen in fantasy， especially in the first book of a series。 I recommend this to anyone who wants character studies， classic prose but modern style complex characters， unique medieval European fantasies， and court intrigue/politics。 。。。more

I am truly at a loss of words。 This book’s plot definitely moves slowly， but surely towards the shocking twists， and it definitely made me connect much more with the characters。 I found them to be so truly real， all their inner motivations and ambitions and conflicts actually making sense！ Truly refreshing and not something I see in a lot of books。 The enemy of the book is also truly terrifying and sent chills down my spine whenever mentioned。 While this is not a book for people who like action I am truly at a loss of words。 This book’s plot definitely moves slowly， but surely towards the shocking twists， and it definitely made me connect much more with the characters。 I found them to be so truly real， all their inner motivations and ambitions and conflicts actually making sense！ Truly refreshing and not something I see in a lot of books。 The enemy of the book is also truly terrifying and sent chills down my spine whenever mentioned。 While this is not a book for people who like action packed plots， this is definitely a book for me！ Hugely recommend。 。。。more

I've read a lot of reviews that have said that not a lot happens in this first book of the series， but I have to disagree with them。 I loved the pace of the novel， and I was always to pick it up again。 I read one review that did say they felt like "too much was going on"， and with that I agree - not only was Fitz being trained to be an assassin， but he was also being trained in the Skill and also Burrich and also spending time with Queen Patience。 It just felt like a lot at some moments。 Other t I've read a lot of reviews that have said that not a lot happens in this first book of the series， but I have to disagree with them。 I loved the pace of the novel， and I was always to pick it up again。 I read one review that did say they felt like "too much was going on"， and with that I agree - not only was Fitz being trained to be an assassin， but he was also being trained in the Skill and also Burrich and also spending time with Queen Patience。 It just felt like a lot at some moments。 Other things about this book that I enjoyed: the characters and the way that we got to know them， the writing， and the special role that animals play in this series。 It made me wish I had a bond like that。 。。。more

I had this book recommended to me as a book that really draws you in to the universe， and that is tough to put down。 It did not disappoint in that regard。 I would certainly recommend this series to lovers of fantasy books， or those who would like to try out the genre。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Assassin's ApprenticeFirst time delving into the Elderlings series and I didn't know what to expect。 The first quarter if the book is understandably for the main characters' introduction and of course it's worlds building。 I thoroughly enjoyed Fitz as a character and of course Verity。 The middle seemed so slow and I went to a slog but I found some parts interesting and helped me through it， but the last few chapters picked up the pace that I kinda forgave the slowness of the book and promised me Assassin's ApprenticeFirst time delving into the Elderlings series and I didn't know what to expect。 The first quarter if the book is understandably for the main characters' introduction and of course it's worlds building。 I thoroughly enjoyed Fitz as a character and of course Verity。 The middle seemed so slow and I went to a slog but I found some parts interesting and helped me through it， but the last few chapters picked up the pace that I kinda forgave the slowness of the book and promised me great things will happen in the subsequent books。4/5 。。。more

En este libro mucho no pasa， la verdad。 Es un comienzo medio lento de la historia en donde conocemos la vida del protagonista desde que tiene 6 años hasta los 14， aproximadamente。 Todo esto lo relata una versión más adulta de él， por lo que me dio la sensación de presenciar un relato muy subjetivo， solo una cara de la moneda。 Esto hace que me den más ganas de continuar， ya que siento que quedan muchas cosas por descubrir de él。
