But I can’t bring myself to。 I could NOT bring myself to finish this book or Assassin’s Blade。 They were so bland and tasteless! Just plain white paper to me。 And… *SPOILER IF YOU HAVE NOT RED CROWN OF MIDNIGHT*… Nehemia was really the only good part of the book, now she is dead *cries* and Celaena’s sass was pretty awesome too but it all was not enough in the end to outweigh the awfulness of these books! I find Sarah’s writing immature and bland, that’s all。 And I do have a deep loathing for all the men she writes about, I’m not sure why。 I really am sad I did I did not like these books。 And I give it two stars because I am not an awful book reviewer and would not dare to give one star to a book (other than ones I read in school, I give them all 1 stars) I’m sorry Sarah, I just hate all of your books。 I hope to pick up these books again in the future with a more open mind, and I hope to enjoy them one day。 But for now, I give it 2 stars。UwUExcuse my terrible use of words, poor punctuation, and awful spelling。 I am still learning how to write correctly。 -Kit 。。。more

I enjoyed the first two books in the series, but this is the one where it really felt like sjm figured out what she wanted from the series and started taking it in that direction。 There is a major shift between the first two books and this one- we are introduced to new characters and we start seeing different perspective。 I’ll admit it took me a while to care about the new characters and to not just want to skip their perspectives, but I’m glad I stuck with them since going forward they became s I enjoyed the first two books in the series, but this is the one where it really felt like sjm figured out what she wanted from the series and started taking it in that direction。 There is a major shift between the first two books and this one- we are introduced to new characters and we start seeing different perspective。 I’ll admit it took me a while to care about the new characters and to not just want to skip their perspectives, but I’m glad I stuck with them since going forward they became some of my favorites to read 。。。more

Very much enjoyed。 Had some pacing issues I found, but definitely enjoyed the overall story, and ending。

Well, I can safely say I'm invested。 It was。。。。 quite。。。。 slow in part one, introducing new characters and new plot lines, but it paid off towards the end of the second part。 I think Rowan could indeed be my new favourite character。 I'm interested to see where Manon's story goes too as it seems so far removed at the moment。 Tears were shed。 I was utterly shook at several points and the original characters have gained so much more depth since the first book。 Opening Queen of Shadows this very ins Well, I can safely say I'm invested。 It was。。。。 quite。。。。 slow in part one, introducing new characters and new plot lines, but it paid off towards the end of the second part。 I think Rowan could indeed be my new favourite character。 I'm interested to see where Manon's story goes too as it seems so far removed at the moment。 Tears were shed。 I was utterly shook at several points and the original characters have gained so much more depth since the first book。 Opening Queen of Shadows this very instant! 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This series just keeps getting better & better。 Sarah J。 Maas really knows how to make us relate to her characters so deeply that when they're in pain, it's like they're our closest friend。 The amount of times I wanted to hug Aelin, Dorian, Sorsha, Manon (even tho she 'claims' she doesn't have a heart) it's not normal。 I sobbed many times because the depths of their traumas and fears are so WELL WRITTEN it really made my heart break。 I'm completely addicted to this series and I just know that on This series just keeps getting better & better。 Sarah J。 Maas really knows how to make us relate to her characters so deeply that when they're in pain, it's like they're our closest friend。 The amount of times I wanted to hug Aelin, Dorian, Sorsha, Manon (even tho she 'claims' she doesn't have a heart) it's not normal。 I sobbed many times because the depths of their traumas and fears are so WELL WRITTEN it really made my heart break。 I'm completely addicted to this series and I just know that once I finish it I'm going to re-read it。 I love this so much。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This book was a bit slow for me in the beginning but it definitely improved as I kept reading。 I liked seeing Celaena in another setting and I HAVE to mention the great enemies to lovers trope included in this novel。 Rowan is by far my favourite character at this point in the series。 The battle scenes were actually interesting and the different storylines wrapped up nicely in the end。

I loved this book。 This story of pain and guilt。 Of not so much overcoming your fears, but embracing them。 A story of strength and resilience and self-loathing being forged into self acceptance。 Celeana’s character has so much depth and history and I gobbled up every bit of this book, loving each new character。 I am so, so excited for the rest of this series。

So far, out of the three books in the series that I have gotten through, this one has to be my least favorite so far。 It provided very valuable information and that ending was honestly quite wonderful, but it seemed to me to be more of a filler book to progress the story more than anything。 I liked the new characters - except for the witches because it seemed as though they had really no connection to the main plot line of this book ?? This series just keeps getting better and better。。。 wowI was initially quite skeptical about her going to Wendlyn since I just loved the dynamic in books one and two, with Dorian, Chaol and Celaena being almost ‘the golden trio’。 But later on, I definitely accepted the fact that it’s not going to be like that forever, so I’ll just have to reread them soon 😅 But holy-moly Heir of Fire went beyond any expectations that I had! Let me just say, Celaena’s character growth was absolutely incredible! Let me just say, Celaena’s character growth was absolutely incredible! I’m not wholly putting that down to Rowan, but I’m putting a great deal of it down to Rowan。。。 Celaena truly transformed into this incredibly willing and driven woman, even more so than she was as an assassin。 And, as odd as it sounds, I’m proud of her。 I’m proud and grateful and thankful that she’s stepped up to the table, pushing aside all the inconveniences and now forming her own court! ☺️And who is the first person in that court? ROWAN 😩 they’re freaking carranam!! 🥺 On more than one occasion, I found myself comparing Rowan and Chaol, and as much as it pains me to admit, Rowan is arguably THE most perfect match for Aelin 🥰 I think the reason why I like Rowan so much is because he reminds me of who Chaol used to be: their training sessions in the morning (oh how I miss those 🥲), his sense of superiority to EVERYONE, the raw strength and power both men wield, and so many more things I’ve kept note of and tabbed。 I’m anticipating the time when Chaol and Rowan meet 😬 tensions will be high my friends 💁🏼‍♀️ Rowan would obviously win in a fight though, no debates necessary 😅 see, I compared them again! 🙄Q。 “He’d known, since the moment he figured out who she was, that while Celaena would always pick him, Aelin would not。” 😭 ok ok, this quote just makes my heart ache with pain- I can’t。。。 Chaol’s always going to have a special place in my heart, whether he does in Aelin’s or not。 Honestly though, Chaol has changed, and not for the better。 I’m not entirely sure what it is, but he’s simply not the same as he was, and that truly, truly breaks me。 He’s not even Captain Westfall anymore!!! 😖Ok, back to the fae of the hour: Prince Rowan Whitethorn 🥴 He is like pure perfection mixed with a dollop of handsome, intrigue, power, magic, control, seduction, strength, stamina, arrogance and a pain-filled past which leads to a sprinkle of vulnerability, only at times。。。 so he’s not a very layered character at all really 😅😑 THAT FREAKING BLOOD OATH HE MADE TO AELIN AFTER JUST BEING WHIPPED BY HIS ‘FRIENDS’ 😭 that genuinely had me squealing for about half an hour Q。 “Together Fireheart,” he said, pushing back the sleeve of her tunic。 “We’ll find a way together。” He looked up from her exposed wrist。 “A court that will change the world,” he promised。” 🥺 why do you have to do this to me Rowan? Q。 “I do。 Until my last breath, and the world beyond。 To whatever end。” 😩To be continued。。。 。。。more

kaltain is the only reason this has two stars。 I’m sad that we didn’t see her development on page, but also low-key glad because Sarah would’ve slaughtered it anyways。 elide and manon are queer-coded and in love with each other please convince me otherwise。 also the first time I read this book I did, regretfully, skip over almost every manon chapter。 I can now say as a rr they were the only chapters I enjoyed。 also dorian’s plotline was insanely funny for me。 and I still hate rowan。 my hate for kaltain is the only reason this has two stars。 I’m sad that we didn’t see her development on page, but also low-key glad because Sarah would’ve slaughtered it anyways。 elide and manon are queer-coded and in love with each other please convince me otherwise。 also the first time I read this book I did, regretfully, skip over almost every manon chapter。 I can now say as a rr they were the only chapters I enjoyed。 also dorian’s plotline was insanely funny for me。 and I still hate rowan。 my hate for rowan has not changed since I first read this。 。。。more
