Summary

A New York Times best selling, multi-arc, character-driven story with great battles and strong-willed females that will appeal to males and females alike。

In a world where monsters called Yoma prey on humans and live among them in disguise, humanity's only hope is a new breed of warrior known as Claymores。 Half human, half monster, these silver-eyed slayers possess supernatural strength but are condemned to fight their savage impulses or lose their humanity completely。

Clare's first battle with the Yoma of Rabona has left her body drained and shattered。 With no time to recover, she must face the creature again after it chooses Raki as its next victim。 Luckily, Raki remembers that he is carrying Clare's trusted broadsword and manages to get it into her hands。 But unlike Clare, the Yoma is fighting at full strength and thirsting for blood。。。

Got some background info。 So sad。 Just over here sobbing over manga, don't mind me。One edit from something I forgot to mention: the art gives the little girl a scar on her face but takes it away in a few pages。 Could have been dirt, but this bothered me。 Got some background info。 So sad。 Just over here sobbing over manga, don't mind me。One edit from something I forgot to mention: the art gives the little girl a scar on her face but takes it away in a few pages。 Could have been dirt, but this bothered me。 。。。more

Book #3000 on my GR account!-This series continues to get better。 Admittedly I wasn't sure about the start of this one as Teresa is very hard to like at first, but the character development over the course of the volume was quite good。 It has some fantastic action scenes and we get some much-needed backstory。 I'm definitely going to continue on with this one, especially now that I have started my sub on Shounen Jump again。 Book #3000 on my GR account!-This series continues to get better。 Admittedly I wasn't sure about the start of this one as Teresa is very hard to like at first, but the character development over the course of the volume was quite good。 It has some fantastic action scenes and we get some much-needed backstory。 I'm definitely going to continue on with this one, especially now that I have started my sub on Shounen Jump again。 。。。more

I think this place is as good as any to leave the manga for now。 I don't know how to feel about it, it's a pretty uninspired and formulaic *light* Berserk sort of manga。 Teenager me might have liked it a bit more, but if I'm honest with myself this is barely passable。It's okay。 I didn't have crazy expectations, so that might explain the generous rating。Edit: in retrospective, I'm giving it a lower score。 Too bad, but I just didn't like it。 I think this place is as good as any to leave the manga for now。 I don't know how to feel about it, it's a pretty uninspired and formulaic *light* Berserk sort of manga。 Teenager me might have liked it a bit more, but if I'm honest with myself this is barely passable。It's okay。 I didn't have crazy expectations, so that might explain the generous rating。Edit: in retrospective, I'm giving it a lower score。 Too bad, but I just didn't like it。 。。。more

Yay so Mr voracious eater from the last book got taken out & I was glad of that as his whole thing of poking folk full of holes was starting to get a bit repetitious!Bad guys who show-boat too much never get anywhere。。。(view spoiler)[Clare almost awakening was a tense moment! This volume gave the Claymores more humanity。 Both arcs included in this volume were about Claymores taking up children to protect and gaining back some human feelings with it, while better suppressing the Yoma urges。 This manga really is good vs evil, representing both the best and worst of humanity along with some demons to spice it up。

This volume has probably one of the best character’s introductions I’ve ever read。 Teresa is the most powerful claymore there is, and unlike Clare, she always shows a faint smile on her face whenever she’s killing yoma。 One time, she goes into a mission and kills 7 yoma in a matter of minutes, but in the aftermath of the job, a little orphan girl follows her around, even when she kicks her to the ground, so she won’t follow her。And you might wonder who that is? Of course is young Clare, the little kid who was so hungry and so dehydrated, she almost dies until Teresa kind of takes care of her, as if she were a pet。 Truth be told, this flashback is a bit heartbreaking because the only reason Clare followed Teresa was because “she had the same sad eyes as her。 She looked as she been hurt so much, she couldn’t handle it。” I always love this trope: when some tough, badass, unbeatable character opens their heart to the most unexpected person。 And, not only do we get a female badass character right there, but someone who means a breaking point in Clare’s growth。 Honestly, I don’t remember much of the anime, but I know her story did not end up well, and that hurts me a little bit more than it probably should。Still, this manga has improved so damn much, I really can’t stop reading。 These volumes are far too short and I’m eager to know what happens next!PREVIOUS REVIEWS:Volume 1 | Volume 2 。。。more

This is a review of the entire series。In a dark fantasy world overrun by shape-shifting demons called Yoma, a mysterious organization has created half-breed warriors called Claymores to combat the monsters terrorizing the world。 The story centers around a Claymore named Clare, a determined woman who seeks revenge against the Yoma that killed the person she loved and admired most。 On her journey of revenge, she slowly unravels the horrifying mysteries surrounding the origins of the Yoma, the shad This is a review of the entire series。In a dark fantasy world overrun by shape-shifting demons called Yoma, a mysterious organization has created half-breed warriors called Claymores to combat the monsters terrorizing the world。 The story centers around a Claymore named Clare, a determined woman who seeks revenge against the Yoma that killed the person she loved and admired most。 On her journey of revenge, she slowly unravels the horrifying mysteries surrounding the origins of the Yoma, the shady organization that created her, as well as the true meaning of her own existence。When I first started reading, the story instantly gave me Vampire Hunter D, The Witcher and Berserk vibes, only this time it featured a captivating and sympathetic female lead named Clare。 We don't know that much about her at first, but beneath her stoic and determined facade is a struggling little girl with a tragic backstory of loss and a painful drive of revenge interfering with her ability to live a normal life。 Despite her cold and sometimes monstrous demeanor, Clare has a big soft spot for humanity despite the blood of demons running through her veins。 She's chilling, badass and most importantly, sympathetic。Over the course of the series, we meet dozens of amazing female warriors, each with their own unique powers, personalities, demonic transformations and interactions with Clare。 Theresa of the Faint Smile who serves as a motherly role model for Clare was my favorite character in the story, and I ended up being impressed by the sheer amount of badass, likable female warriors that were introduced later on in the series that I ended up growing attached to as well。 It's not too often you see dark fantasy or sword & sorcery series where 99% of the main cast are well-written female warriors。Some plot points get a bit messy in the second half of the series, but the action, characters, horror and monsters never stop being thrilling and it also has a very satisfying conclusion despite having a few road bumps along the way。 It's a great series if you enjoy the Conan-esque monster of the week formula with added layers of mystery and emotion。***My Social MediaMy YouTube Channel: https://www。youtube。com/channel/UCPPs。。。My Instagram Account: https://www。instagram。com/michael_sor。。。My Wattpad Account: https://www。wattpad。com/user/Michael-。。。My Twitter Account: https://twitter。com/SorbelloHorrorMy Facebook Account: https://www。facebook。com/michael。sorb。。。 。。。more

Lo peor de estos mangas es claramente el dibujo, todos los personajes masculinos son iguales y nunca se quien es quien。 El argumento parte de una base que podría ser interesante, pero se va todo a la basura a la hora de desarrollarlo。

An improvement over the first volume, not quite as good as the second。 Teresa is a better POV character than Clare (though the typical POV is Raki), but she's less intriguing。 I do like that we're now getting full-fledged arcs, and as I recall it, Teresa's is a good one that lasts a couple volumes。 Teresa is also a good foil to adult Clare, because it shows more the range of character that you can have as a Claymore, beforehand the implication was the most were more indifferent, like Clare seems An improvement over the first volume, not quite as good as the second。 Teresa is a better POV character than Clare (though the typical POV is Raki), but she's less intriguing。 I do like that we're now getting full-fledged arcs, and as I recall it, Teresa's is a good one that lasts a couple volumes。 Teresa is also a good foil to adult Clare, because it shows more the range of character that you can have as a Claymore, beforehand the implication was the most were more indifferent, like Clare seems to be, and that's Clare's compassion may be what sets her apart。 I believe it in fact does, but we're now starting to see that not all Claymores are the same, and this was a good time to do that。 The only real issue I had with the volume was that the voracious eater got dealt with like the editor told Yagi to just get on with it "Is his head his weak spot" *chapter ends* *chapter begins* "Yup。 Sure is。" Firstly that's not even interesting, and secondly, it's really the only instance of bad pacing thus far。 。。。more

And now we’re going deeper。 The introduction of this new character, Teresa, intrigues me for she poses with a cloud of mystery and a dubious, wicked, and cynical attitude。 It seems like she knows a bit more on what’s going inside the Claymore organization。 Not to mention we get to know Clare’s past more through her and I commend how the twist in the end pulled a string of my heart。

I found myself really drawn to the new Claymore, Teresa, in a way that I wasn't instantly drawn to Clare。 She's a little more likable, if not still just as matter-of-fact about killing。 I'm curious to see where her story goes or if that's all we'll see from her。I agree with a lot of the other reviewers in that it is difficult to tell the male characters apart from each other。 In fact, multiple times I thought that some of the men showing up in Teresa's story were men Clare met in Rabona (view spoiler)[which is impossible, given that Clare is a child when we meet Teresa (hide spoiler)]。That small issue aside, I am loving this series! It's brutal in a way I didn't expect and yet it's not just fighting and killing。 Claymore is about servitude, identity, mental fortitude, and loneliness。 It's about strong women who are looked down upon by society。 It's about people hardening because of life's many tribulations。 And so much more。I was gifted the first three volumes of Claymore as a Christmas present, and now I need to figure out how I'm going to locate the others!! 。。。more
