I used to think that dying of cancer was a lame way to die。 (i am so sorry i thought that way) I wanted to die in an explosion or some crazy action-movie type way。 I entirely regret that now。 cancer is a strange thing。 it just wants to be alive and the way for it to be alive is killing the exact thing that is keeping it alive。 now i don’t believe that cancer is inherently beautiful but i do believe that Green makes dying of cancer feel beautiful。 never once have i wished to have cancer except wh I used to think that dying of cancer was a lame way to die。 (i am so sorry i thought that way) I wanted to die in an explosion or some crazy action-movie type way。 I entirely regret that now。 cancer is a strange thing。 it just wants to be alive and the way for it to be alive is killing the exact thing that is keeping it alive。 now i don’t believe that cancer is inherently beautiful but i do believe that Green makes dying of cancer feel beautiful。 never once have i wished to have cancer except when i read the ending of the fault in our stars。 the ending is so sad i wanted to rip my heart out。 But in that case, good book。 i recommend but only if you like sadness and crazy metaphors。 :) 。。。more

I started reading the fault in our stars because of the movie。 I soon found that it was a tearjerker! I did find it was a little mature for me in some parts, but overall, one of the best books I've ever read。 I started reading the fault in our stars because of the movie。 I soon found that it was a tearjerker!

Even if the write end style can be quite particular sometimes, this books broke my heart。 Like, I saw the movie before reading the book (what an affront)。 And obviously, I though I will not be touch by the story。 And honestly, this is maybe THE books, who makes me cry that much。 Even when I know the story, I didn’t see emotions comes, I was just crying without realizing who the author makes me do it。 The story is beautiful, sad, and quite romantic too。 I recommend this book to everyone❤️

I really found this book to be nice and beautifully writen。 But somehow I sometimes couldn't understand whats going on in the minds of the characters and found their actions weird and unrealistic。 It still deserved four stars because its a book I really loved but let's just say it won't be on my all time favourite list。 I really found this book to be nice and beautifully writen。 But somehow I sometimes couldn't understand whats going on in the minds of the characters and found their actions weird and unrealistic。 It still deserved four stars because its a book I really loved but let's just say it won't be on my all time favourite list。 。。。more

Warnings : sex: one sex scene though described very brieflyDrugs: cigarettes are in mouths but not being lit violence : cancer is described pretty vividly I choose this book because I need to fulfill a requirement for a English class 。 I had read it before in middle school but only had a mild memory of it so decided to read it again !I was not disappointed ! the characters are so intriguing its becomes heartbreaking towards the end as you are full invested in their lives at that point 。 I like o Warnings : sex: one sex scene though described very brieflyDrugs: cigarettes are in mouths but not being lit violence : cancer is described pretty vividly I choose this book because I need to fulfill a requirement for a English class 。 I had read it before in middle school but only had a mild memory of it so decided to read it again !I was not disappointed ! the characters are so intriguing its becomes heartbreaking towards the end as you are full invested in their lives at that point 。 I like ow john green writs teens 。 In a slightly unrealistic way but so its more intriguing so I can overlook that 。 would I recommend / require this for classes ? Yes ! I would definitly do both 。 This book is realistic enough about the lives of teens without being too inappropriate for schools 。 This makes it prefect I think for high school kids of any ages to read for school。 I would also just high recombed this book to students just because its a good book and a fast read 。 。。。more

I honestly don't know why I read this in 2015, perhaps for the hype? In any case, in that then I didn't like it。 Did I cry? Yes, of boredom。 This book it was a fucking hell and a nightmare。 In 2015 I had several reasons why this book wasn't good for me, but now I can't remember any of them。 I won't re read it but I'll just say that this was boring and weird。 I honestly don't know why I read this in 2015, perhaps for the hype? I'm balling my eyes out right now so i don't feel capable of writing an actual review, but this book is the perfect ensemble of real life, love story, comedy and what not。 I loved Augustus and Hazel Grace so much, i feel like I've become friends with them myself。 Everyone should read this book。 I'm balling my eyes out right now so i don't feel capable of writing an actual review, but this book is the perfect ensemble of real life, love story, comedy and what not。 I loved Augustus and Hazel Grace so much, i feel like I've become friends with them myself。 Everyone should read this book。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I wanted to like this book more than I did。 There are beautiful passages here, to be sure。 Unfortunately, it comes across as very pretentious。 One of my biggest pet peeves is when adult men write unrealistic (and frankly, ignorant) depictions of teenage girls based on outdated stereotypes。 Hazel's spoken and inner dialog is too often insipid and thoughtless, which is tedious and frustrating to read。 In fact, the dialog of most characters is generally the same, in that it suffers from sounding te I wanted to like this book more than I did。 There are beautiful passages here, to be sure。 Unfortunately, it comes across as very pretentious。 One of my biggest pet peeves is when adult men write unrealistic (and frankly, ignorant) depictions of teenage girls based on outdated stereotypes。 Hazel's spoken and inner dialog is too often insipid and thoughtless, which is tedious and frustrating to read。 In fact, the dialog of most characters is generally the same, in that it suffers from sounding terribly unrealistic。 I wish that the author had leaned into the story with more seriousness than he did, as the poor unrelenting humor in this novel does disservice to the plot as a whole。 。。。more

When I was in college, I read this book and loved it dearly。 Had I written this review as a 19 year old, I would have rated it five stars。 I got "okay okay" earrings for Christmas that year。 Now, looking back, I can safely say it's not as good as I remembered it to be?I mean。 It's got some problematic things in it。 (Wasn't a fan of the kiss in Anne Frank's house。 For the longest time, that put me off reading it。。。)And honestly, I get the reason why Augustus and Hazel are wise beyond their years, When I was in college, I read this book and loved it dearly。 Had I written this review as a 19 year old, I would have rated it five stars。 I got "okay okay" earrings for Christmas that year。 Now, looking back, I can safely say it's not as good as I remembered it to be?I mean。 It's got some problematic things in it。 (Wasn't a fan of the kiss in Anne Frank's house。 For the longest time, that put me off reading it。。。)And honestly, I get the reason why Augustus and Hazel are wise beyond their years, but ah。 There's a line there that overdoes it。 This one launches over the line。 Like, freaking long-jumps in the Olympics over the line。 Altho mmMMM that one scene where Hazel finds Augustus very sick in his car。 eoigheosfjdakl fEELINGS。All in all, I still don't mind this book, but I'm not as WoOHOO about it as I was then。 。。。more

This book broke me。 I can't put into words how much it made me feel。I cried, I laughed and I missed。I think the worse and the best part about that book is how much I connected with the characters。 Hazel Grace is the friend I wish I had, Isaac is that guy who in my opinion deserved so much better and I can't find any words to describe gus。 He was the most lovable guy ever, his charisma, his metaphors and basically him。BTW, if I lent you my copy of this book, ignore the dry tears on the pages。 This book broke me。 I can't put into words how much it made me feel。I cried, I laughed and I missed。I think the worse and the best part about that book is how much I connected with the characters。 Hazel Grace is the friend I wish I had, Isaac is that guy who in my opinion deserved so much better and I can't find any words to describe gus。 He was the most lovable guy ever, his charisma, his metaphors and basically him。BTW, if I lent you my copy of this book, ignore the dry tears on the pages。 。。。more

I didn't think this was my kind of book。 I fell in love with Green's The Anthropocene Reviewed podcast so thought I'd check this out。 Wooooow What a phenomenal read! It's exactly my kind of banter & insight。 Wild how you can never know a book you'll love has been in front of you for so long。 Pretty sure I'll read anything John or Hank Green writes。 I've loved them all。 I didn't think this was my kind of book。 I fell in love with Green's The Anthropocene Reviewed podcast so thought I'd check this out。 Wooooow What a phenomenal read!
