This。 Was。 So。 Weird。 The characters, the scenes, the connections, the several congruent storylines that crisscross。 But it sucks you in and you become invested in all this weirdness。

Люблю не могу。 Великолепная фантастика и размышление о том, как непросто быть родителями。 Очень близко и так далеко。 Вероятно, один из лучших комиксов в мире。

A perfect graphic novel。 Lots of sex, violence, weird aliens, and most important characters i instantly connected with。 Cannot wait to read the rest of this。

Hits all the marks。 Great art。 Not to slow。 Not to fast。 Not to much dialog。 Not to little。 Heart。 Familiarity at the same time wonders。 The most human story that never took place on earth。

Art: 5 stars, Writing/Themes: 3 starsThe art here is fantastic and kept me going when other aspects of the book were less engaging。 The characters are also sharp and memorable。 I didn't always enjoy the crude dialogue, but it mostly feels appropriate to the characters, tone, and theme of "f*cking is the opposite of war。" Although I see what the author is going for with this theme, the idea that sex is war's opposite seems rooted in an overly idealistic and simplistic view of sex。 Even within the Art: 5 stars, Writing/Themes: 3 starsThe art here is fantastic and kept me going when other aspects of the book were less engaging。 The characters are also sharp and memorable。 I didn't always enjoy the crude dialogue, but it mostly feels appropriate to the characters, tone, and theme of "f*cking is the opposite of war。" Although I see what the author is going for with this theme, the idea that sex is war's opposite seems rooted in an overly idealistic and simplistic view of sex。 Even within the book, the sexual context could be disturbing and harmful (in fact, there is major plot point surrounding this fact)。 Maybe the theme is worked out in a more complex and interesting way in later installments, but it just didn't make sense to me here。 。。。more

I feel a little torn about my review。 Vaughan and Staples definitely created a unique world that spans both Fantasy and SciFi。 It has creatures that are unlike any others。 However, I felt like some of the choices Vaughan made kept pulling me out of that setting。 Sometimes it was the issues the story chose to explore, which were modern political commentary, and at other times it was the terminology/phrasing that felt like it came directly from our world。 I’m sure these choices were intentional an I feel a little torn about my review。 Vaughan and Staples definitely created a unique world that spans both Fantasy and SciFi。 It has creatures that are unlike any others。 However, I felt like some of the choices Vaughan made kept pulling me out of that setting。 Sometimes it was the issues the story chose to explore, which were modern political commentary, and at other times it was the terminology/phrasing that felt like it came directly from our world。 I’m sure these choices were intentional and designed to make everything more relatable to the reader, but instead I found them distracting from my immersion into the story。 。。。more

It was a really quick read - I haven't read many comics or graphic novels, but this one was really enjoyable。 I'll continue and read the rest of the series。 It was a really quick read - I haven't read many comics or graphic novels, but this one was really enjoyable。 I'll continue and read the rest of the series。 。。。more

I haden't read comics regularly in years。 I had heard good things, so decided to pick this up。It was completely undersold to me。This is one of the absolute best comics I've read in my life。 I'm not going to go into detail about the story (it's excellent) or the art (beautiful)。 I won't even fully tell you my thoughts。 Rather, I'll let you extrapolate then from the following sentence。I read the entire series in a day。 Not just this book - the series。I cannot recommend this book/series more highly I haden't read comics regularly in years。 I had heard good things, so decided to pick this up。It was completely undersold to me。This is one of the absolute best comics I've read in my life。 I'm not going to go into detail about the story (it's excellent) or the art (beautiful)。 I won't even fully tell you my thoughts。 Rather, I'll let you extrapolate then from the following sentence。I read the entire series in a day。 Not just this book - the series。I cannot recommend this book/series more highly。 Read it。 Read all of them。 。。。more

Ugh。 A reread。I forgot how full of love and life and hope this book is。(all my homies hate syntax)I won't wax poetic about Saga。 This isn't the right time nor the right place。 Saga deserves more。 But, leaning on overtrodden tropes, it is the perfect book for this moment。 In the face of all hate, doubt, and seemingly endless darkness—love exists。 Love is the answer。Okay, I'm a sucker for love stories, all of them。 But recently, I've been particularly drawn towards love stories that exist beyond t Ugh。 A reread。I forgot how full of love and life and hope this book is。(all my homies hate syntax)I won't wax poetic about Saga。 This isn't the right time nor the right place。 Saga deserves more。 But, leaning on overtrodden tropes, it is the perfect book for this moment。 In the face of all hate, doubt, and seemingly endless darkness—love exists。 Love is the answer。Okay, I'm a sucker for love stories, all of them。 But recently, I've been particularly drawn towards love stories that exist beyond the "meet cute" and the "get-together。" How do these people stay together? I've read this story before but this was a binge re-read。This is the best graphic novel ongoing right now。 It's about parenting and creating and love and space and found families and literary ambition and influence and war and all the things。 You should read it。 Oh, there's also sex, in case you're squeamish about that kind of thing。 I've read this story before but this was a binge re-read。This is the best graphic novel ongoing right now。 It's about parenting and creating and love and space and found families and literary ambition and influence and war and all the things。 You should read it。 Oh, there's also sex, in case you're squeamish about that kind of thing。 。。。more

I'm not that much of a prude (at least, I don't think I am), but I admit I was a little thrown by the cover choice and then again by the first several pages。 The sex and gratuity seemed a bit forced, a bit "look at how edgy I am!" But as the story progresses, Vaughan hits his stride and you find yourself completely sucked into this world of moonies and horrors and lying cats。 I love the random humor, how relatable each character is in their own way, how well each character is developed, how 3-di I'm not that much of a prude (at least, I don't think I am), but I admit I was a little thrown by the cover choice and then again by the first several pages。 The sex and gratuity seemed a bit forced, a bit "look at how edgy I am!" I have been postponing reading this series, since I wanted to consume it in one go。 I was right to do so, since this is a wonderful story masterfully told through words and illustration。And the characters。。。 Wow, I loved them all, the main, the good, the bad。。。 I was do kate in the story not only that I cared for the protagonists, but the people after them was well。 I found myself cheering for "the bad guys" at times。 Why? I have had this on my reading list for ages but when I finally got around to it, I devoured the series。 It's definitely more explicit than most things I read or watch, but the character complexities and arcs and the overarching narrative are beyond compelling。 This is a sweeping story told across various worlds and species, but it's also an intense look at one family: it is both myopic and universal。 I have not thought so much about a series in so long。 I have had this on my reading list for ages but when I finally got around to it, I devoured the series。 It's definitely more explicit than most things I read or watch, but the character complexities and arcs and the overarching narrative are beyond compelling。 This is a sweeping story told across various worlds and species, but it's also an intense look at one family: it is both myopic and universal。 I have not thought so much about a series in so long。 。。。more
