Pure magic。 The art and expressions are gorgeous and the story captures the mind and behavior of a child for a totally delightful effect。 Ahhh。 Spacious and mischievous, inventive and full of wonder。

I was recommended this book by Mrs。 Fletcher after enjoying " A Big Mooncake for Little Star" by Grace Lin。 I really liked the similarities between these two books。 This book was about a little boy and his mother。 It teaches children about snow in a fun, and heartfelt story。 With all the snow we are getting right now, this was a good story to read。 I liked how the book used the illustrations in the book to engage the readers more。 With the coloring of whites and blues to show the snowy weather i I was recommended this book by Mrs。 Fletcher after enjoying " A Big Mooncake for Little Star" by Grace Lin。 I really liked the similarities between these two books。 This book was about a little boy and his mother。 It teaches children about snow in a fun, and heartfelt story。 With all the snow we are getting right now, this was a good story to read。 I liked how the book used the illustrations in the book to engage the readers more。 With the coloring of whites and blues to show the snowy weather it was teaching about, to the bed looking like a cloud and the feathers in the bed being the snow。 Overall, I enjoy Grace Lin's stories and how they teach useful information in a entertaining way。 。。。more

Really a perfect winter story。 Just like fresh fallen snow, the book's tone and illustrations are quiet and special。 Obviously a companion to A Big Mooncake for Little Star, both are written like fables explaining a natural occurence。 Lovely! This would give my kid bad ideas of what to do on the bed。 Cute story though。

I just adore Grace Lin's books! This picture book delightfully relates the story of a young mischievous boy who just can't help jumping on his big fluffy feather-filled bed。 As with A Big Mooncake for Little Star, you can't help but love and relate to the young protagonist。 Wouldn't YOU jump on a big fluffy bed if you had one? This is a very cute story with great illustrations。 I loved the concept of the bed being for jumping not for sleeping which something I'm sure several young children agree with。 I also like that the main character of this book is of Asian decent。 I have not found many children's books that represent an Asian protagonist, so I like this book for the classroom to be more inclusive to all students。 This is a very cute story with great illustrations。 I loved the concept of the bed being for jumping not for sleeping which something I'm sure several young children agree with。 I also like that the main character of this book is of Asian decent。 I have not found many children's books that represent an Asian protagonist, so I like this book for the classroom to be more inclusive to all students。 。。。more

When you turn the last page, you will want to return to the beginning immediately and re-read A Big Bed for Little Snow! A beautiful twist on the winter season picture book。

Devious Little Snow jumps on his bed, despite his mommy telling him not to do that。 He waits to listen and makes sure his mom is not near by before jumping and jumping on his blue, cloud like bed。 What I was not expecting was that Little Snow's big bed is in fact a cloud and when feathers come out of his bed from jumping on it there is snow in the town。 The faces are very sweet and detailed。 Placing the focal point on the faces allows Little Snow's feelings to be portrayed without needing any wo Devious Little Snow jumps on his bed, despite his mommy telling him not to do that。 He waits to listen and makes sure his mom is not near by before jumping and jumping on his blue, cloud like bed。 What I was not expecting was that Little Snow's big bed is in fact a cloud and when feathers come out of his bed from jumping on it there is snow in the town。 The faces are very sweet and detailed。 Placing the focal point on the faces allows Little Snow's feelings to be portrayed without needing any words。 。。。more

MAN! Grace Lin is prolific。 What a rockstarThis is written very similarly to A Big Cake For Little Star。 Little Snow has a new bed (that looks amazingly like a cloud) full of soft feathers。 Mama says the bed is for sleeping, not jumping。 But does Little Snow listen? Of course not。

In the same way A Big Mooncake for Little Star offered a creative fantasy explanation for the phases of the moon, A Big Bed for Little Snow tells readers where snow comes from。 A naughty little boy continually disobeys his mother all winter, jumping on his big new bed and sending feathers flying。 But it's all in good fun。。。 for Little Snow as well as for the children who get to play in the debris from his bed!The illustrations are adorable。 Little Snow's white pajamas are only visible becaus In the same way A Big Mooncake for Little Star offered a creative fantasy explanation for the phases of the moon, A Big Bed for Little Snow tells readers where snow comes from。 A naughty little boy continually disobeys his mother all winter, jumping on his big new bed and sending feathers flying。 But it's all in good fun。。。 for Little Snow as well as for the children who get to play in the debris from his bed!The illustrations are adorable。 Little Snow's white pajamas are only visible because of their snowflake pattern (much like Little Star's black pajamas were only visible because of their star pattern)。 The dog toy that's always at Little Snow's side is also a cute touch。I'd recommend this book to those looking for books about winter and snow (though not to readers who are looking for a non-fiction explanation of weather)。 I'd also implore readers to check out A Big Mooncake for Little Star as well; both books together make a lovely set。Quotable moment: 。。。more

A winter/snow book。 "Where does snow come from style myth" focused on Little Snow jumping on his bed and releasing feathers against mom's wish。 Didn't love it and there are lots of snow books out there to choose from。 A winter/snow book。 "Where does snow come from style myth" focused on Little Snow jumping on his bed and releasing feathers against mom's wish。 Didn't love it and there are lots of snow books out there to choose from。 。。。more

A wonderful winter story that imagines how and why the snow falls。 It delighted some preschoolers I read it to。

At first you think this is just a book about a kid jumping on his bed。 What a fun twist!

Ages 3 and up。 A boy jumping on the bed leads to knocking out the feathers。 Magical realism emerges as the feathers turn into snow falling on a city。 A universal childhood experience of jumping on the bed and getting away with mischief set in an East Asian family。

I read this will three year olds。 They liked the jumping on the bed part, but didn't really understand the connection to snow。 To be honest, it took me a while to figure it out too。 I read this will three year olds。 They liked the jumping on the bed part, but didn't really understand the connection to snow。 To be honest, it took me a while to figure it out too。 。。。more

A perfect allegory for winter, family, or bedtime storytimes。Mommy fills Little Snow's bed with feathers to keep him warm during winter。 When she leaves the room, Little Snow jumps on the bed hard enough that some feathers escape。 He repeats this until one day the bed explodes and all the feathers come flying out to the surprise and dismay of many below as it provides the first snow of the season。Grace Lin is brilliant in this gentle allegory about how snow falls。 The reprimanding, yet calm tone A perfect allegory for winter, family, or bedtime storytimes。Mommy fills Little Snow's bed with feathers to keep him warm during winter。 When she leaves the room, Little Snow jumps on the bed hard enough that some feathers escape。 He repeats this until one day the bed explodes and all the feathers come flying out to the surprise and dismay of many below as it provides the first snow of the season。Grace Lin is brilliant in this gentle allegory about how snow falls。 The reprimanding, yet calm tone of the mother and the fun mischievousness of her son provides the tension in the story。 Lin's beautiful artwork is as lovely as the text。 She uses wintry shades of white, pale blue and shades of blue up to medium blue, with only the heads, hands, feet and stuffed dachshund in full color。 It is a bonus that the story features an Asian child and his mother。Highly Recommended for Toddlers-K any time of year! 。。。more

Cute story and cute explanation for snow falling in winter。

Vicki

Is this story just a boy, his mom and his bed? Or is this a tale to justify when it’s snowing? A fun story none the less with nice illustrations。
