Summary

After a year spent trying to prevent a catastropic war among the Greek gods, Percy Jackson finds his seventh-grade school year unnervingly quiet。 His biggest problem is dealing with his new friend, Tyson--a six-foot-three, mentally challenged homeless kid who follows Percy everywhere, making it hard for Percy to have any "normal" friends。

But things don't stay quiet for long。 Percy soon discovers there is trouble at Camp Half-Blood: The magical borders which protect Half-Blood Hill have been poisoned by a mysterious enemy, and the only safe haven for demigods is on the verge of being overrun by mythological monsters。 To save the camp, Percy needs the help of his best friend, Grover, who has been taken prisoner by the Cyclops Polyphemus on an island somewhere in the Sea of Monsters--the dangerous waters Greek heroes have sailed for millenia--only today, the Sea of Monsters goes by a new name。。。the Bermuda Triangle。

Now Percy and his friends--Grover, Annabeth, and Tyson--must retrieve the Golden Fleece from the Island of the Cyclopes by the end of the summer or Camp Half-Blood will be destroyed。 But first, Percy will learn a stunning new secret about his family--one that makes him question whether being claimed as Poseidon's son is an honor or simply a cruel joke。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 3。8 higher than the first。 I really liked this book。 A little bit more than the first but that's due to the pacing being much more digestable also I forgot about even more of this book during my reread。 I loved the Circe cameo though i was a little mad about how she was portrayed but that's okay。 and the only part about this book that's nagging at me is the fact that for the life of me I cannot picture Thalia, I have no idea why I just can't。 for some reason im imagining a lightskined girl with 3。8 higher than the first。 I really liked this book。 A little bit more than the first but that's due to the pacing being much more digestable also I forgot about even more of this book during my reread。 I loved the Circe cameo though i was a little mad about how she was portrayed but that's okay。 and the only part about this book that's nagging at me is the fact that for the life of me I cannot picture Thalia, I have no idea why I just can't。 for some reason im imagining a lightskined girl with blue eyes and like some colorful died streak。 i have no clue。 But yeah i thought this was gonna be alot more boring but I really liked it and this is about where i left off last time i read the series so the next book for the most part should be knew unless i read more then I thought。 I forget where the bookmark was so i could have either just barely started or finished the whole thing idk。 Action parked fun read (also i see you percy with annabeth YUH 。。。more

A solid sequel to a young adult read。 It’s nice to read something like this that I would have been obsessed with in middle school。 Good character development if some cringey scenes。

Emilia

Muy tedioso, y sentía que no avanzaba para nada

Like every other Percy Jackson book I loved this one and I will continue to come back to it as a comfort book。

Moving onto the sequel of PJO, I expected more depth to the plot。 Instead the first half was the just the same as the first book but with a few slight changes。 However, I can see why Riordan did this。 His target audience was young people after all and complex plots lines all of sudden in the just the second book would have been confusing。 Eventually, it made up for the sameness between the first half and the first book。 I think the big plot twist involving Chiron and the Tree were very surprisin Moving onto the sequel of PJO, I expected more depth to the plot。 Instead the first half was the just the same as the first book but with a few slight changes。 However, I can see why Riordan did this。 His target audience was young people after all and complex plots lines all of sudden in the just the second book would have been confusing。 Eventually, it made up for the sameness between the first half and the first book。 I think the big plot twist involving Chiron and the Tree were very surprising and helped set the stage for the next book to have some interesting plot points。 Not the best, but still enjoyable。P。S。 tyson is adorable and i love him with all my heart 。。。more

I liked the lighting thief better maybe is because i think Percy is kind of a jerk in this book and personally i feel like it’s mostly a book about how some of the characters are towards Tyson like why do they have to be so rude but over all Rick Riordan managed to pull off a very nice ending

⭐️ 3/5 STARS ⭐️I felt that the plot was more succinct than the previous book and the introduction of new characters was successful, specifically Tyson。 Unfortunately, I kept overthinking certain things。 (view spoiler)[At the beginning, I remembered that Percy’s mum was not affected by The Mist, which made me question why this was the case。 Furthermore, I struggled to grasp how Tyson couldn’t overcome the weakened barrier of Camp Half-Blood despite beating one Colchis bull。 I hypothesised that Ty ⭐️ 3/5 STARS ⭐️I felt that the plot was more succinct than the previous book and the introduction of new characters was successful, specifically Tyson。 Unfortunately, I kept overthinking certain things。 (view spoiler)[At the beginning, I remembered that Percy’s mum was not affected by The Mist, which made me question why this was the case。 Furthermore, I struggled to grasp how Tyson couldn’t overcome the weakened barrier of Camp Half-Blood despite beating one Colchis bull。 I hypothesised that Tyson had enough strength to subdue the monster due to its metallic exterior and his experience working with such material in the forges。 However, getting through the barrier would exert more power than he already has (hide spoiler)]。 These queries, amongst others, significantly hindered my reading experience to the extent of consulting Quora and not wanting to finish the last chapter。 This was a shame given that I really enjoyed the story’s main outline but could not bring myself to ignore the minor details。 Since I have not experienced such distress whilst reading for a long time, I can only award the book 3 out of 5 stars。 Perhaps on a future re-read, this will receive the higher rating that it deserves。 。。。more

Loved this! Like the first book in the Percy Jackson series, this book was also really fun to read! I enjoyed everything about it; the characters, the writing style, the pace of the story, the plot。 I particularly liked the introduction of new characters, and the development of some of the old characters。I cannot wait to read the next book! :)

Pretty self explanatory!I really really enjoyed this book。 It’s so easy to read, it never feels like things are being rushed or too slow or they don’t make sense。。。 they just feel right! I absolutely love Tyson he’s just a cutie and I couldn’t believe how mean Percy was。 But their relationship gets better and my heart loved it ❤️ There is a couple of things that were quite predictable which is why I’m not giving it a 5 stars but still really good!

Special sunscreen some goat slashy people I definitely enjoyed this book however I still think that Percy is a bit in mature for his age。
