Summary

Abigail Baskin was in her early twenties - working two jobs to make rent on the crummy apartment she shared with two strangers, saddled with crippling student loan debt, and nursing a secret desire to become a novelist - when she met Bruce Lamb。

A freshly-minted tech millionaire from Silicon Valley, Bruce is completely genuine, completely generous, and completely in love with Abigail。 On their third date, he told her he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her。 Six months later, he asked her to marry him。 It was a fairytale romance。

But now, three days before the wedding, Abigail had a received an unsettling email。 And she has no idea that this email signals the beginning of a nightmare she may never escape。

This was a good book。 Wish more people were talking about it。 Not sure I will sleep tonight。 Also made me glad that I'm not single。 This was a good book。 Wish more people were talking about it。 Not sure I will sleep tonight。 Also made me glad that I'm not single。 。。。more

I predicted a lot of what was going on。 Still a quick easy read。

First half was 1 star, I almost DNF’d。 It doesn’t get interesting until we’ll into the honeymoon, more than half way through the book。 Second half is 3 stars, so I averaged it to 2 stars total。 I didn’t care for any of these characters, maybe Jill, but that’s it。 This was not very thrilling, as I felt I had to push through a lot of it。

I just LOVED Peter Swanson’s latest thriller! Fast-paced and a 10/10 thriller with a generous pinch of action thrown in for flavour。 It would probably make a great film。Listened to it on Audible and finished it in 1 day。 Just couldn’t put it down。The narration was very good, too。 It was my second Peter Swanson book and will most likely not be my last。

I received this book as a GoodReads Giveaway。 I thought this book was good, not great。 The story was good, but the plot moved a little fast, and I didn’t feel like the characters were fleshed out enough for me。

3。5 but rounded down as I expected more。 Not the best Peter Swanson book I have ever read。 I saw the polt and the twist a mile off and was still expecting the classic Swanson extra twist but it didn’t come。 This doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it as it’s still a really good Book and maybe if it wasn’t this author I wouldn’t feel as disappointed。 This is a good story and well worth the read if only to experience the manipulation that some men will go through to keep themselves on top。 But don’t expec 3。5 but rounded down as I expected more。 Not the best Peter Swanson book I have ever read。 I saw the polt and the twist a mile off and was still expecting the classic Swanson extra twist but it didn’t come。 This doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it as it’s still a really good Book and maybe if it wasn’t this author I wouldn’t feel as disappointed。 This is a good story and well worth the read if only to experience the manipulation that some men will go through to keep themselves on top。 But don’t expect this to be as twisty/ turny as other PS books。 。。。more

Such a disappointment after eight perfect murders

I guess it was bound to happen eventually, but this Peter Swanson was a huge letdown。 Also, this book is creepily centered on a woman’s virginity, sexual history and fidelity。 Creepy much, Pete?

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This book was just okay and there was a lot of things that were mentioned in it that the author never got back to。There were so many details about the main character’s exes and parents but was never revisited? It started out strong with good details and an interesting plot line, but pivoted to a weird incel cult in the woods。 The ending was very anticlimactic。

Peter Swanson is a go to author for me, The Kind Worth Killing is one of my all-time favourite Thrillers, however his latest release fell very short for me。He gave away to much at the beginning of the book, it was very easy to put the pieces together so that took away from the usual twists and turns I expect from Swansons writing。 Maybe my expectations were set too high, his last book Eight Perfect murders was so good so I went into this one with high expectations。I quite liked the premise of th Peter Swanson is a go to author for me, The Kind Worth Killing is one of my all-time favourite Thrillers, however his latest release fell very short for me。He gave away to much at the beginning of the book, it was very easy to put the pieces together so that took away from the usual twists and turns I expect from Swansons writing。 Maybe my expectations were set too high, his last book Eight Perfect murders was so good so I went into this one with high expectations。I quite liked the premise of the story, but it could have been dressed up a bit more with smoke and mirrors and more sinister events unfolding on the island this would have taken the book to the next level for me。 I will still rush out to read his next book, he is a favourite writer of mine, just this one fell very short。Thank you to Allen & Unwin Australia for my copy of this book in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more

Abigail Baskin never thought she’d fall in love with a millionaire。 Then she met Bruce Lamb。 He’s a good guy, stable, level-headed, kind—a refreshing twist from her previous relationships。But right before the wedding, Abigail has a drunken one-night stand on her bachelorette weekend。 She puts the incident—and the sexy guy who wouldn’t give her his real name—out of her mind, and now believes she wants to be with Bruce for the rest of her life。Then the mysterious stranger suddenly appears—and Abig Abigail Baskin never thought she’d fall in love with a millionaire。 Then she met Bruce Lamb。 He’s a good guy, stable, level-headed, kind—a refreshing twist from her previous relationships。But right before the wedding, Abigail has a drunken one-night stand on her bachelorette weekend。 She puts the incident—and the sexy guy who wouldn’t give her his real name—out of her mind, and now believes she wants to be with Bruce for the rest of her life。Then the mysterious stranger suddenly appears—and Abigail’s future life and happiness are turned upside down。 He insists that their passionate night was the beginning of something much, much more。 Something special。 Something real—and he’s tracked her down to prove it。Does she tell Bruce and ruin their idyllic honeymoon—and possibly their marriage? Or should she handle this psychopathic stalker on her own? To make the situation worse, strange things begin to happen。 She sees a terrified woman in the night shadows, and no one at the resort seems to believe anything is amiss… including her perfect new husband。My Thoughts: In Every Vow You Break, Abigail is struggling to enjoy her honeymoon, especially since little details of her new husband’s behavior are beginning to annoy her。 Additionally, the man she slept with on her bachelorette weekend has been stalking her, even showing up on the island honeymoon。 He has approached her and threatened to tell her new husband about their one-night stand, insisting that they are soul mates。The creep factor was high in this story, and I could feel it from all sides。 Not just the stalker, but the husband。 His honeymoon selections kept Abigail off guard, beginning to question her own choices。 And when Abigail tries to leave the island, obstacles appear from everywhere。 She realizes that she cannot trust anyone。 As the intensity deepens, Abigail feels like she is in a bad dream being chased through the dark。 A brilliant 5 star read。 。。。more

My 4 stars is probably generous but in terms of enjoyment, I did have a good time reading this one even though I did have issues with some of the stuff going on at the end。 Full review coming soon。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Jaysus。 I don't know if Peter Swanson is going through some martial issues or a real bad dating spell but please go see a therapist。 I liked 8 Perfect Murders but this was horrible, you pretty much knew the general gist of what would happen from the beginning and the last quarter of the book was atrocious。 Jaysus。 I don't know if Peter Swanson is going through some martial issues or a real bad dating spell but please go see a therapist。 I liked 8 Perfect Murders but this was horrible, you pretty much knew the general gist of what would happen from the beginning and the last quarter of the book was atrocious。 。。。more

This was a surprise hit for me! Many didn’t rate this book very high buy I found the the twists unpredictable and shocking, I couldn’t wait to find out how the story would continue to unfold。 The pacing worked well enough and the explanations for the challenges were believable。 I did think the best friend could’ve been used more strategically versus just to move the story along, but I also think that might’ve made the book a bit predictable so I’m okay with how they wrote the character overall。 This was a surprise hit for me! I’d say 4。5 stars for me。 Felt more like a horror story, and listening to it on audiobook made me really anxious at times。 There were some things that were very unlikely, but I still really enjoyed it overall。

Okay the plot is ridiculous, I will admit。 But I was engaged the whole way, unlike a lot of Peter Swanson’s books。 This felt more like a horror film and it worked for me in that regard。 I think a lot of people will hate it because they are expecting a domestic thriller and this is not that at all。 And as soon as they got to an island for the honeymoon and there was limited plane rides out it gave me vibes to Epstein’s island and the stories the girls had from there。

Chloe Moody

I absolutely loved this until the last 3 chapters。。。 a bit disappointed by the end

This was certainly entertaining in the end。 Though, it was hard to get into and I was grateful when it was over! Largely this is due to a lack of likable characters。 Despite the the fact that you can't help routine for the protagonist, she's not likable。 While the events in the book are unfortunate, it's pretty much her own fault right from the start。 Certainly none of the antagonists are likable。 And none of the characters in the entire book are relatable, except perhaps one poor girl who works This was certainly entertaining in the end。 Though, it was hard to get into and I was grateful when it was over! Such a great book。 I finished it in a day and a half。 I didn't want to put it down。 It's nice to have a strong female character who can take care of herself。 Such a great book。 I finished it in a day and a half。 I didn't want to put it down。 It's nice to have a strong female character who can take care of herself。 。。。more

I recommend this book it was a very good thriller。 I enjoyed the writing style, it seemed I was right there with the main antagonist throughout her whole adventure。 I kept thinking I was figuring out the plot and the twist as I read along but I was so wrong。 I finish this within 24 hours that’s how intriguing it was。 All in all it was a fun ride。 It’s the perfect book to read while on vacation or maybe not。

Sara

Not as good as his other thrillers。 A bit predictable。

3。75/5Read for Literally Dead book-club by Kayla。 This was a weird book for me to rate because the beginning was slow and tense and did not have any twists but the ending was action packed and great。 The main character, Abigail was great tho flawed and the story had some great themes。 And I must admit that sometimes this book was difficult to read-watching a woman getting gaslighted by literally everyone isn't pleasant。 3。75/5Read for Literally Dead book-club by Kayla。 This was a weird book for me to rate because the beginning was slow and tense and did not have any twists but the ending was action packed and great。 The main character, Abigail was great tho flawed and the story had some great themes。 And I must admit that sometimes this book was difficult to read-watching a woman getting gaslighted by literally everyone isn't pleasant。 。。。more
