Summary

Once upon a Regency time, an author created a family 。 。 。

But not just any family。 Eight brothers and sisters, assorted in-laws, sons and daughters, nieces and nephews, (not to mention an overweight corgi), plus an irrepressible matriarch who’s a match for any of them 。 。 。 These are the Bridgertons。 Through eight bestselling novels, readers laughed, cried, and fell in love。But they wanted more。

And so the readers asked the author 。 。 。。

What happened next? Does Simon ever read his father’s letters? Do Francesca and Michael become parents? Who would win in a Pall Mall grudge match?

Does ‘The End’ really have to be the end?。

This is a collection of Julia Quinn’s funny, heart-warming ‘second epilogues,’ which are included at the ends of each novel。 This collection also includes plus a brand new novella about none other than the wise and witty matriarch: Violet Bridgerton herself。 So get to know the Bridgertons all over again – because Happily Ever After is a whole lot of fun 。 。 。

I sort of enjoyed this book the most in the entire series - Well, who doesn't like happy endings。 The concept of 2nd epilogues was truly fun and very well written。 I sort of enjoyed this book the most in the entire series - Well, who doesn't like happy endings。 The concept of 2nd epilogues was truly fun and very well written。 。。。more

If you decide to read each second epilogue after you read the appropriate book then be warned。 The Romancing Mr Bridgestone one has spoilers for To Sir Philip, With Love。

The rating is for Violet in Bloom, the only novella in this I hadn't read yet。It was sweet, but I wanted more of her life before she became a Bridgerton and more of her courtship with Edmund than a few pages。 We never got to know much about him as he died before the start of the series, and it would have been nice to spend more time with the legendary father of the 8。 The rating is for Violet in Bloom, the only novella in this I hadn't read yet。It was sweet, but I wanted more of her life before she became a Bridgerton and more of her courtship with Edmund than a few pages。 We never got to know much about him as he died before the start of the series, and it would have been nice to spend more time with the legendary father of the 8。 。。。more

This whole book was okay。 It was nice to see the characters get their happy endings, or more happy endings considering each book already has a prologue。 However, I HATED the story about Lucy and Gregory。 Other than Francesca, Lucy probably had one of the hardest times of all the female leads in getting together with her romantic counterpart。 She was literally abused by her uncle and was forced to be married by him too。 Then she watched him die at the hands of her boyfriend。 Now the author has de This whole book was okay。 It was nice to see the characters get their happy endings, or more happy endings considering each book already has a prologue。 However, I HATED the story about Lucy and Gregory。 Other than Francesca, Lucy probably had one of the hardest times of all the female leads in getting together with her romantic counterpart。 She was literally abused by her uncle and was forced to be married by him too。 Then she watched him die at the hands of her boyfriend。 Now the author has decided to force her to give birth 9 times and then go into a coma?? It's almost misogynistic in a way and so necessarily depressing。 。。。more

。。。more

A fun recapI’d read all of the 2nd epilogues while reading the books but especially LOVED the chapter on Violet! A fun quick read!

I really this a bit slowly。 A few at a time, and I would get hung up on some of the couples that weren't as interesting to me, yet I wanted to read just to spend some more time with this family。 One of the things this book did was re-affirm my love for Michael and Francesca。 I was afraid to read their epilogue as their book remains one of my all time favorites, but I also read it so long ago and would I feel the same way? I already talked about each 2nd epilogue separately, because I read them after each respective novel, so just a few thoughts on “Violet in Bloom”。 Honestly after the last three books which I didn’t love, this was a lovely surprise。 It wasn’t perfect, but since I didn’t expect it to be, it was fine。 I love how the story started (childhood and pies) and then the ball… I have to say that after that, I was quite disappointed by the major time jumps。 I wouldn’t mind to see a little bit more of their I already talked about each 2nd epilogue separately, because I read them after each respective novel, so just a few thoughts on “Violet in Bloom”。 Honestly after the last three books which I didn’t love, this was a lovely surprise。 It wasn’t perfect, but since I didn’t expect it to be, it was fine。 I love how the story started (childhood and pies) and then the ball… I have to say that after that, I was quite disappointed by the major time jumps。 I wouldn’t mind to see a little bit more of their courting and happiness, before being thrown in that scene (bit like a cold shower…)。 But still, it was enjoyable, and I am finally done with this, so… win-win… 。。。more

I think this is a good example where the author caved in to the demand of his/her readers。 These second epilogues seem too forced and don’t really add much to the original stories。

Summary from all the series。。。This summarises well bits it's the epilogue from each of the books summarised as what happens next。 Could have put that up on the foreward, would have helped the reader decide on buying the book。 Summary from all the series。。。This summarises well bits it's the epilogue from each of the books summarised as what happens next。 Could have put that up on the foreward, would have helped the reader decide on buying the book。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 What an end to the Bridgeton series, I must say I’m lost without them I enjoyed them all immensely! This book was 2nd epilogues for each Bridgeton siblings book。 My personal favorites were Anthony’s, Colin’s, Francesca’s and Gregory’s。 Anthony’s epilogue took place in their house in Kent playing everyone’s favorite game pal mal。 I love the relationship/rivalry between Anthony and his wife Kate。 Truly hilarious watching the two of them try their hardest to out do each other and win at all costs。 What an end to the Bridgeton series, I must say I’m lost without them I enjoyed them all immensely! I enjoyed getting to listen to all of these stories together, and particularly enjoyed the stories that were new to me。 But I was really bothered by the fact that they'd all be re-recorded by a male narrator。 The female narrator had done a great job of voicing all the characters, regardless of gender, but this one kept making the women sound like young girls, and didn't seem capable of different voices for different female characters, they all sounded the same! I really enjoyed seeing some of the questions I had from the ending of some of the books like with Hyacinth and Francesca。 The best part of the book however was the novella about the mother, Violet, which showed her relationship with her late husband and with her children over the years。 It was beautifully written and it was lovely to see such a prominent character throughout the series get time to shine。 This was the perfect way to wrap up the series。
