Summary

Locked in the silence and darkness of your skull, your brain fashions the rich narratives of your reality and your identity。 Join renowned neuroscientist David Eagleman for a journey into the questions at the mysterious heart of our existence。 What is reality? Who are "you"? How do you make decisions? Why does your brain need other people? How is technology poised to change what it means to be human? In the course of his investigations, Eagleman guides us through the world of extreme sports, criminal justice, facial expressions, genocide, brain surgery, gut feelings, robotics, and the search for immortality。 Strap in for a whistle-stop tour into the inner cosmos。 In the infinitely dense tangle of billions of brain cells and their trillions of connections, something emerges that you might not have expected to see in there: you。

This is the story of how your life shapes your brain, and how your brain shapes your life。

The very good but one thing I would like mention that it needs more chapters, very small。 I think this book can have bunch of more interesting chapters which definitely author have mastery on。

Interessant, morsom og kort。 Hadde vært borti det meste før:)

A very simple book entertaining a lot of interesting ideas。 From the brain of a child to the the idea of conserving consiousness after death to the relationship between your brain and your environment, this book despite its simple language, successfully attacks a lot of interesting questions and presents a good amount of arguments and on going research feilds。Recommended。

Always love reading about the most magnificent organ in the human body! This book is an introductory delve into the wonderful world of neuroscience。Starting with the basics of brain development, eagle man takes us through how the brain works, why we feel what we feel and how we got here。 It ends on a philosophical note, touching upon topics of AI and consciousness uploading。

An easy yet interesting read for those who are interested in psychology and neuroscience but probably haven’t studied any of the two。 As a layman, I found the book fascinating。
