Summary
Taking place during Batman's early days of crime fighting， this new edition of the classic mystery tells the story of a mysterious killer who murders his prey only on holidays。 Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon， Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month。 A mystery that has the reader continually guessing the identity of the killer， this story also ties into the events that transform Harvey Dent into Batman's deadly enemy， Two-Face。 This edition includes original 13-issue series as well as four additional story pages cut from the original series， which are presented fully colored and restored to their place in the story。 Also featured are sketches and an introduction by the director and writer of The Dark Knight Rises， Christopher Nolan and David Goyer。

I am not a big comic book fan， so I started reading this without high expectations。 When I finished it I was left speechless at how deep a batman story could get。 I couldn't help it but have in mind and compare it to Christopher Nolan's batman trilogy， which is based on this book and I can see why so。 It's a great story with beautiful images and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Batman and crime stories。 I am not a big comic book fan， so I started reading this without high expectations。 When I finished it I was left speechless at how deep a batman story could get。 I couldn't help it but have in mind and compare it to Christopher Nolan's batman trilogy， which is based on this book and I can see why so。 It's a great story with beautiful images and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Batman and crime stories。 。。。more

I probably would have rated this more 4 or 4。5 stars。 It is not at all a genre I normally read， so I got a little confused at times。 However， when my 17 year old son handed over this 300+ page comic book compilation asking me to read it because he thinks I will enjoy it， and I did， then it is automatically a 5 star read for me。

I read this story a long time ago when it first came out in single issue format but hadn’t revisited it since then。 I’m glad I took the （short） time to re-read it now。 This book is a quick read， is filled with gorgeous art and features a host of classic Batman villains， but at it’s heart it’s a gangster story and a murder mystery。 Taking place early in Batman’s history， the story centers on a series of murders that happen on holidays。 The victims of the murders are members of Carmine “The Roman” I read this story a long time ago when it first came out in single issue format but hadn’t revisited it since then。 I’m glad I took the （short） time to re-read it now。 This book is a quick read， is filled with gorgeous art and features a host of classic Batman villains， but at it’s heart it’s a gangster story and a murder mystery。 Taking place early in Batman’s history， the story centers on a series of murders that happen on holidays。 The victims of the murders are members of Carmine “The Roman” Falcone’s mob family。 Are these murders committed by a rival gang or are they part of a new class of villain trying to take over Gotham？ Batman teams with Jim Gordon and the Gotham DA Harvey Dent to track down the killer。 I loved the interplay between Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle （as well as the relationship between Batman and Catwoman）。 I also really liked the portrayal of Harvey Dent as a determined DA on a case and its affect on his home life。 This serves as an origin story for Dent and Two Face as well。 Overall， I really enjoyed this noir murder mystery。 。。。more

5 stars An incredibly well done comic。 This is been one of the best two face backstory’s that DC has put out， and Christopher Nolan drew quite a bit from it for the story of the dark knight。 I really enjoyed getting to enter Gotham and follow Batman in his hunt for Holiday the serial killer。 The mystery in this novel was amazingly well written and I was very surprised by it wrap up。 This was just a really fabulous read。
