This book has withstodd the test of time for a good reason。 How I wish I could hold all of the information in the foreground of my mind whenmoving through life。 I feel like I'd be far more successful in my endeavors。 I had to read through it a second itme before beginning a new book of Hill's。 This book has withstodd the test of time for a good reason。 How I wish I could hold all of the information in the foreground of my mind whenmoving through life。 I feel like I'd be far more successful in my endeavors。 I had to read through it a second itme before beginning a new book of Hill's。 。。。more

As far as business sense and the how too it was great! I only gave it three stars because of his view on religion and marriage。 Other than those two things it was a spectacular book。

This book was a great source of inspiration from page one。 The writing captures you intellectually and emotionally。 I believe the author delivers what he promises, and it's a lot。 He promises to give you the secret to become rich that he learned from hundreds of wealthy people he interviewed or studied during all his career。 It is a big promise, but I think he does just that。In terms of the utility if this book, I think this book is more a manual than a book。 It gives you lots and lots of tools This book was a great source of inspiration from page one。 The writing captures you intellectually and emotionally。 I believe the author delivers what he promises, and it's a lot。 He promises to give you the secret to become rich that he learned from hundreds of wealthy people he interviewed or studied during all his career。 It is a big promise, but I think he does just that。In terms of the utility if this book, I think this book is more a manual than a book。 It gives you lots and lots of tools to put into practice the advice he shares。 But it doesn't mean that talking action after reading this book is easy。 Actually, I think the author was right at the beginning when he recommends not reading more than one chapter a day, and getting a study group to read and analyse the book together。 That's because some of the ideas in the book are not easy to grasp and you really need to digest them。 Besides, you need to take action from the beginning with the "Six Steps", which I haven't been able to put into action because。。。 Yeah, the book also recommends not to create excuses for the things you don't do, so I'll say that after reading the book, you'll have a lot of "homework"。I find it incredible that a person like Napoleon Hill, would devote 25 years of his life to write a book to teach other people how to become rich。 I'm not trying to suggest that he had other intentions。 I just think that rich people would not benefit from sharing their secrets with others, if they wanted to do so, they should start by allowing people to access a better education。 This simple act would open the door for many people to learn how to succeed in life。 But going back to the book itself, I must say that this is one of those books with so many gems of wisdom in them。 This book has hundreds of pieces of advice which can be applied for all aspects of life。 Here are a few I personally liked:"Every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent success""No one ever is defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality""Our only limitations are those we set up in our own minds""Tell the world what you intend to do, but first show it""A quitter never wins and a winner never quits""Riches do not respond to wishes。 They respond only yo figure plans, backed by definite desires, though constant persistance"。。。。 。。。more

En av mina favoritförfattare! Det finns mycket att hämta här men det är synd att den är så ”trögläst” jag tror det stoppar många att läsa den。

The author made a nice job inspiring people, but a glance on the wiki page about him makes everything what he wrote questionable: "The authenticity of many of Hill's claims have been widely disputed。 " The author made a nice job inspiring people, but a glance on the wiki page about him makes everything what he wrote questionable: "The authenticity of many of Hill's claims have been widely disputed。 " 。。。more

Pretencious, simplistic, full of fluff。I saw this book in so many "must read" lists of life-changing books about finantial literacy, self-growth etc and I figured I should give it a try。 Prologue intrigued me a lot。First chapter I started cringing。 I kept on reading saying to myself "come on, there must be something good here!" But all I could do while kept on reading was: CRINGE。 --> 😬。 This book is like "The Secret" but In the 19th century。 A progenitor of the "philosophical" b****it movement Pretencious, simplistic, full of fluff。I saw this book in so many "must read" lists of life-changing books about finantial literacy, self-growth etc and I figured I should give it a try。 Prologue intrigued me a lot。First chapter I started cringing。 I kept on reading saying to myself "come on, there must be something good here!" Also, class privilege at its best; one more rich man saying that the poor are poor because of the way they think and the rich become richer because of the same。 We get it。 As for the son chapter: how can such cruel behavior of not allowing a deaf child use the sign language to be able to communicate and being proud of what was accomplished after and because of that cruelty, be celebrated as "victory"? Makes me think that the author had serious mental problems and such "parenting" would def not pass in more modern times。I couldn't have expected something better from someone that calls scientific breakthroughs "miracles of nature" attributing again human accomplishments to faith。I'm sure there must have been people who benefited from reading this, but me personally, I couldn't even make it to the end!Moving on to the next one! 。。。more

I’ve had a love-hate affair with this book。Originally, purchased in 2017, because a fellow founder recommended it to me。 I couldn’t get through the first pages of the book, because of its fantastical tone and exclamatory ALL CAPS。In 2020 tried reading it again, but struggled halfway through the book。 It was just too convoluted。This year, 2021, I made it till the end, because I guess I’ve finally become receptive to its message。 Although the book is of course hopelessly misplaced in the current e I’ve had a love-hate affair with this book。Originally, purchased in 2017, because a fellow founder recommended it to me。 I couldn’t get through the first pages of the book, because of its fantastical tone and exclamatory ALL CAPS。In 2020 tried reading it again, but struggled halfway through the book。 It was just too convoluted。This year, 2021, I made it till the end, because I guess I’ve finally become receptive to its message。 Although the book is of course hopelessly misplaced in the current epoch with some of its observations and recommendations, there are some valuable pieces of advice that have really made me think differently。 After all: “Mind control is the result of self-discipline and habit。 You either control your mind or it controls you。” 。。。more

Interesting concept on how one can build riches by converting a thought into a desire and persevering to achieve those desires。 I enjoyed the fact that the author used illustrations from real life examples to substantiate his claims。 Also, the riches doesn't necessarily have to mean money, one can apply these concepts to any area that matters the most, for instance, happiness or health。 Overall I enjoyed reading it though at times I felt that book was catering mainly to the male audience。 That c Interesting concept on how one can build riches by converting a thought into a desire and persevering to achieve those desires。 I enjoyed the fact that the author used illustrations from real life examples to substantiate his claims。 Also, the riches doesn't necessarily have to mean money, one can apply these concepts to any area that matters the most, for instance, happiness or health。 Overall I enjoyed reading it though at times I felt that book was catering mainly to the male audience。 That could be coz of the time when the book was first published。 I would recommend this book but with the above caveat。 - Priyanka Sharma 。。。more

One of the most definite and straight to the point book that one can get their hands on to。More practical then getting too metaphysical。People who just starting out with Laws of attraction and kinds and want to know the deeper and metaphysical side of these laws, should go for other book that takes you on a roller coaster of food for the souls。Otherwise, this is a handy book of practical exercises。
