another well crafted story I tell myself I get these sort of books for my kids。 But I always read them first， often third as well and make sure to talk about the tales with my kids。 They see details I don’t， I share references they don’t get。 So much here to enjoy。

🌎 What’s it about？One day the world ceased to exist as we know it。 Electricity stopped working and magic emerged。 But a lot of the magic is bad and can’t be controlled。 So Marguerite and her trusty， hilarious， talking dog Daisy are on a quest。 They can pass through different times and realms in search of three magical artifacts。 Once obtained， they can give them to her Uncle Bernard to restore the balance of good magic。 Along the way they encounter monk protectors， electricity， a delightful pers 🌎 What’s it about？One day the world ceased to exist as we know it。 Electricity stopped working and magic emerged。 But a lot of the magic is bad and can’t be controlled。 So Marguerite and her trusty， hilarious， talking dog Daisy are on a quest。 They can pass through different times and realms in search of three magical artifacts。 Once obtained， they can give them to her Uncle Bernard to restore the balance of good magic。 Along the way they encounter monk protectors， electricity， a delightful person from 1999， and thugs。🥳 My thoughts:What a delightfully， deliciously hilarious and creative graphic novel！ I laughed out loud multiple times while reading it。 Between Daisy the dog’s dry wit and the use of “historical references” from the 1990s， my family became captivated in what I was reading。And the illustration work is 🤌🏼。 The use of color is truly outstanding。 I loved how different sections were just different tones and shades of one color。 Admiring the drawings is one of my favorite parts of reading graphic novels！Once I hit the last 50 pages， I couldn’t put it down。 I braved reading in the car on our way to dinner while my husband drove the curviest road in Cincinnati， through the hilliest， pot-hole laden streets to finish it。 That is the highest compliment I can give a book。I kept reading sections of it to my 12 year old， who immediately snatched it from my hands when I read the last page。I think this one is appropriate for as young as 10 and entertaining for adults of any age！ 。。。more

A gorgeous fantasy land illustrated by beautiful art and filled with characters I was dying to know more about。 I read this in one sitting。 The plot twist was unexpected but it fit perfectly into the story and worked so well。 The comedy was also amazing， I’m obsessed with that toad。

Hi I'm Ryan， and I made this book with Erica Henderson！ So I am extremely biased when I say "WOW FIVE STARS"， but it IS a book I'm really proud of， and Erica did some incredible work here。 We began with the idea of wanting to explore the idea of "chosen one" narratives and our frustration with them， and it all spun out from there。 It's a book we're both super enthusiastic about， and as our first reunion since The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl， I think you'll find a lot of similarities with that serie Hi I'm Ryan， and I made this book with Erica Henderson！ So I am extremely biased when I say "WOW FIVE STARS"， but it IS a book I'm really proud of， and Erica did some incredible work here。 We began with the idea of wanting to explore the idea of "chosen one" narratives and our frustration with them， and it all spun out from there。 It's a book we're both super enthusiastic about， and as our first reunion since The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl， I think you'll find a lot of similarities with that series along with a ton of differences。 I really hope you like it！ 。。。more

yes yes yes yes yesNorth & Henderson's Squirrel Girl run got me into reading comics， and has changed my life dramatically （this is not an exaggeration， hi， really was seminal stuff to me）。 Seeing what they can do with a wholly original story is magical。 It's beautiful。 It's perfect。 I wasn't entirely sure what was going on for the first third or so--I liked the premise， but I wasn't sure I was following the plot--but everything snapped into place wonderfully and chillingly and hilariously in the yes yes yes yes yesNorth & Henderson's Squirrel Girl run got me into reading comics， and has changed my life dramatically （this is not an exaggeration， hi， really was seminal stuff to me）。 Seeing what they can do with a wholly original story is magical。 It's beautiful。 It's perfect。 I wasn't entirely sure what was going on for the first third or so--I liked the premise， but I wasn't sure I was following the plot--but everything snapped into place wonderfully and chillingly and hilariously in the second half。 I love this book so much。 Thank you for this one。 。。。more
