This series continues to be a lot of fun。 The info-dumps in this one were a little heavy-handed， and some of the POV switching within the narration felt clunky。 But overall， this is a great installment in the series and adds some great new developments。

I was looking forward to reading the fourth installment of the City Spies series and was definitely not disappointed！ This one was just as good as the first three。 Following the group of young spies from the British Museum to the ruins of ancient Egypt while they work to stop a cyberattack， this book was filled with twists and turns from start to finish。 With her love of logic and her amazing analytic skills， I enjoyed watching the character of Kat shine as she led the team。 While these books ar I was looking forward to reading the fourth installment of the City Spies series and was definitely not disappointed！ This one was just as good as the first three。 Following the group of young spies from the British Museum to the ruins of ancient Egypt while they work to stop a cyberattack， this book was filled with twists and turns from start to finish。 With her love of logic and her amazing analytic skills， I enjoyed watching the character of Kat shine as she led the team。 While these books are mainly about the chase， the dynamics of the relationships between the City Spies team members and their relationship with their adoptive Mother add to the story。 I also liked the unexpected addition of a new member to the team of spies。 Between that and the cliffhanger ending， I'm already excited about reading the fifth book in the series。 This will be a huge hit in my school's library for mystery and action/adventure readers alike。 。。。more

As someone who loves “kid books，” I am really enjoying this series。 Clean， fun， sibling focused。 And there is always fun historical information embedded in the stories。 I would definitely recommend this series to elementary/middle grade readers （or other adults who enjoy a good kids spy novel 🤷‍♀️😄）。

The City Spies have been sent to steal a necklace from the British Museum on Guy Fawkes Day， only to find out that they were doing so to test for weaknesses in light of intel MI6 received that someone was planning a heist of the Egyptian part of the museum。 When the City Spies see the intel MI6 received， though， they realize the intel had a double meaning and Clementine was telling Mother he needed to go to Germany for something important。 In the midst of planning this operation and trying to an The City Spies have been sent to steal a necklace from the British Museum on Guy Fawkes Day， only to find out that they were doing so to test for weaknesses in light of intel MI6 received that someone was planning a heist of the Egyptian part of the museum。 When the City Spies see the intel MI6 received， though， they realize the intel had a double meaning and Clementine was telling Mother he needed to go to Germany for something important。 In the midst of planning this operation and trying to anticipate any of Clemmie's surprises， the City Spies are also investigating a series of cyber attacks in London that started the night of their museum heist。 Someone calling themselves Horus is threatening to shut down major sectors of London。 Their motive and who could be behind the attacks， are things the young spies must figure out。 Their investigations will take them from their headquarters in Scotland to London， Berlin， and Egypt。This was exactly as good as I've come to expect from James Ponti。 Lots of fun spy action， tantalizing mysteries to solve， and lots of interpersonal and personal character development。 Kat is alpha for several of the missions and the quiet math genius gets to shine in new ways in this book。 Part of the plot involves adding a new person to the mix （view spoiler）[Mother's son Robert is the surprise in Berlin， and they have to decide whether or not they can trust him （hide spoiler）]。 The mystery also involves cyber security and Egyptian artifacts and the ongoing debate about repatriating Egyptian artifacts in the British Museum。 It was an interesting mix of problems， but worked very well and brings up some very real modern issues for readers to chew on。 The mystery keeps you guessing till the end， but I had some inclinations as to who was or wasn't guilty。 It was a good balance of giving readers just enough they can figure it out with or slightly before the City Spies， but intricate enough it isn't glaringly obvious。 I have several readers who will be super excited to get their hands on this。 Notes on content: No language issues。 No sexual content。 There are serious situations but no one is injured。 。。。more
