Summary

Intense。 Dangerous。 Addictive。 Meet your next obsession…

Abby Abernathy doesn't drink or swear and she works hard。 Abby believes she has created enough distance between her and the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college, her dreams of a new beginning are quickly challenged by the university's walking one-night stand。

Bad Boy Travis Maddox, handsome, built, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs - and wants - to avoid。 He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight club, and his days as the notorious college Lothario。 A disaster waiting to happen…

Intrigued by Abby's resistance to his charms, Travis tricks her into his life with a simple bet。 If he loses, he must remain celibate for a month。 If Abby loses, she must live in Travis' apartment for the same amount of time。 Or the start of something beautiful? Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match。 Or that this is the start of an obsessive, intense relationship that will lead them both into unimaginable territory…

I read this because I saw it was being made into a movie but I absolutely hated Abby and Travis。 Idk, this book was a disaster but not in a good way。

This is the corniest book I’ve ever read。 The whole time reading I was waiting for the characters be fr but apparently they were incapable of doing so。 Also, the author write like a child who hasn’t even reached puberty yet and discovered adult sites but hasn’t fully grasped it and still decided to put it in a book。 Although this book wasn’t up to par (Like nowhere near and I don’t even have to finish reading to determine that) it has taught me one important thing。 You can write a piss poor book This is the corniest book I’ve ever read。 The whole time reading I was waiting for the characters be fr but apparently they were incapable of doing so。 Also, the author write like a child who hasn’t even reached puberty yet and discovered adult sites but hasn’t fully grasped it and still decided to put it in a book。 Although this book wasn’t up to par (Like nowhere near and I don’t even have to finish reading to determine that) it has taught me one important thing。 You can write a piss poor book and still be successful。 So write that book girly🫶🏾。 。。。more

This gives off “After” vibes。 Two toxic people who are “perfect” for each other。 The trailer for the new movie made it seem like a decent read。 But I found myself skimming a lot of it。 I just could not stand the lead female。 She was very unlikeable in my opinion but could also be I was not the biggest fan of the writing, felt little immature。

Not at all understanding the hype on this one。。。the characters are all portrayed as HS students no one in college would care about you like the book suggests over and over and the ending PLEASE not only beyond out there but not even good after what just happened with the fire again do not get it sorry not for me。。。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This was more predictable than the Bible。 A basic love story, that starts out with the good girl Abby Abernathy。 I mean, even her name is to god damn cringy。 One day, she meats Travis Maddox at a fight。 He is the typical bad boy。 At first, she refuses to admit any feelings whatsoever。 They then settle on a bet, and she is forced to live with him for a month。 That, I admit I have never seen before。 But in any case, just as any other bad boy/good girl relationship, they want to defy everyone’s opi This was more predictable than the Bible。 A basic love story, that starts out with the good girl Abby Abernathy。 I mean, even her name is to god damn cringy。 One day, she meats Travis Maddox at a fight。 He is the typical bad boy。 At first, she refuses to admit any feelings whatsoever。 They then settle on a bet, and she is forced to live with him for a month。 That, I admit I have never seen before。 But in any case, just as any other bad boy/good girl relationship, they want to defy everyone’s opinions。 At first it goes great, but then they start fighting。 They brake up, and it’s not until Travis saves Abby from dying, that she decides to marry him in Las Vegas。 I don’t think I have ever read a more cringeworthy novel。 It is as though a toddler could have written it。 Not to mention the toxic relationship and complete idiot Travis is。 Hated it from start to finish 。。。more

Okay, so。。 very mixed opinions on this book from everyone, but here's mine:I chose to read this when I saw the trailer for the movie。。 I haven't seen the movie yet but I will be watching it soon to see how it compares, I don't think they can add in a lot of the stuff from the book so we'll see。It gives off 50 shades and After vibes - two books/movies that also receive that love/hate feedback, honestly these three are like Marmite! - love it or hate it you can't deny these books/movies and the ch Okay, so。。 very mixed opinions on this book from everyone, but here's mine:I chose to read this when I saw the trailer for the movie。。 I haven't seen the movie yet but I will be watching it soon to see how it compares, I don't think they can add in a lot of the stuff from the book so we'll see。It gives off 50 shades and After vibes - two books/movies that also receive that love/hate feedback, honestly these three are like Marmite! - love it or hate it you can't deny these books/movies and the characters/plots are toxic, they all have their issues。 I can see how it's received hate, I can see the issues people have。。 Maybe I'm just too optimistic and I always see the good in a book because I don't want to ruin something someone has worked hard on。。 but my honest opinion is that yes, Travis has issues, he is angry and has a bad temper, he shouldn't react the way he does and Abby shouldn't forgive him and take him back。。 but。。 I find books like this sometimes feel a bit more realistic than the cutesy romance novels that are perfect, don't get me wrong I love reading those, and I'm not romanticising or encouraging anger issues, toxic relationships or anything similar。。 but in real life people have anger issues, trust issues and love isn't always perfect and pretty。。 He doesn't ever lay a hand on her, the way they meet and start their relationship is unconventional but they go through stages, they learn a lot about each other and get to know one another, they become best friends and fall in love, they go through problems and they fight, they make up, they have to learn to overcome and work past their own issues and survive together。。 I think there could have been a bit more character development towards the end, and they still have issues they need to work on, I think that's realistic。。 I think a lot of people in real life have issues and in a relationship that person sees those issues more than anyone, it's down to those people whether they stay together or not, whether it's worth it for them。 Travis and Abby end up together because they love each other and they're absorbed in their relationship, I don't think it's a case of they can't live without each other, I just think they don't want to and they believe they can't。。 In my opinion that's not far from reality and not necessarily implying that they're toxic。 I've seen people imply that Travis is a stalker。。 I don't think that's the case I just think he's intense and he's never loved someone, he doesn't know how a healthy relationship should work, but he learns。 I enjoyed this book, and due to the negative reviews I feel almost guilty that I did。。I love the fact Abby is not your typical main character, I love that she surprises every one by being at and enjoying Travis' fights, I love the hidden identity and the fact she's so good at something that they wouldn't expect someone like her to excel at。 I really enjoyed the friendship group: Abby, Travis, Shepley and America, also Finch。 Travis is overprotective of Abby and at certain points it isn't healthy and I didn't agree but, again, I think they're issues that he works on; I like how Shepley protected Abby at all costs。 I enjoyed the banter and friendship Abby creates with Travis' brothers, with Shepley and Adam at the fights。Travis Maddox is a typical intense bad boy that falls in love and has to try and be better。 。。。more

Best book ever readI absolutely loved this book。 From beginning to end。 I cried, I laughed I cussed out Travis and Abby multiple times through out the book。 I would definitely read it again and again。

this book was meh, at best… it gave me serious After (by Anna Todd) vibes, but oddly i remember enjoying that just a tad more。 the relationship in this book is unhealthy and the friendships are toxic。 unfortunately after purchasing and reading the majority of the book, i found out the author is an extremely problematic individual… so literally everything about the book gave me the ick after that。 don’t bother reading and don’t spend your money on a book written by a racist!

Michelle Bellman

The relationships in this book are a train wreck。。。 but one you have to watch。 Steamy, college romance with insane and trashy characters。 It ropes you in。
