From the moment Charles was born to present day， all he knew was a life of being a royal。 But with that responsibility came with some pretty big heartaches but also for some good with the charities he founded。 This book is an exciting entry in a series that explores famous people such as the newly crowned King Charles in a way that young kids can understand his journey in life without all the messy areas。For myself， I kinda thought that this book told a little white lie with the whole Camilla be From the moment Charles was born to present day， all he knew was a life of being a royal。 But with that responsibility came with some pretty big heartaches but also for some good with the charities he founded。 This book is an exciting entry in a series that explores famous people such as the newly crowned King Charles in a way that young kids can understand his journey in life without all the messy areas。For myself， I kinda thought that this book told a little white lie with the whole Camilla being just a friend when we all know the truth with that。 But again， this is a children's book that they really don't need to know the truth behind that until they are order to understand the whole situation at hand。 With that being said， this was a well put together book about King Charles for youngsters to understand who he is and what his upcoming Coronation in May of 2023 means for the United Kingdom。 I totally loved the illustrations in this book， they really told King Charles story in a way that is fun for both kids and adults can enjoy！Thank You to Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara for a great story in this collection！I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley。 。。。more

I was first introduced to the Little People， Big Dreams series with the Elizabeth II volume。 It was published in her jubilee year。 Exactly one month before her son's coronation， King Charles comes out。The text is factual。 The young reader learns that Charles and Diana have nothing in common， so they have divorced。 Camilla has been his closest friend for thirty-five years。 The author mentioned the infamous school years in Scotland as well。 We learn that Philip was practical， but Charles felt alon I was first introduced to the Little People， Big Dreams series with the Elizabeth II volume。 It was published in her jubilee year。 Exactly one month before her son's coronation， King Charles comes out。The text is factual。 The young reader learns that Charles and Diana have nothing in common， so they have divorced。 Camilla has been his closest friend for thirty-five years。 The author mentioned the infamous school years in Scotland as well。 We learn that Philip was practical， but Charles felt alone in a Scottish school far from home。I liked all the impartial wording mentioned。 Adult texts could have the same vibe。However， the main focus of the eighteen-page book is the King's interest in nature and ecology。This publication provides children with a clear and informative text about King Charles III。 However， it is also a great summary without the tabloid mess for adults。Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for a free digital review copy。 This is my honest review。 。。。more

This is a great history of King Charles。 My only complaint is that it seemed to jump very quickly throughout the story。 This would be perfect for an elementary reader looking to learn about current leaders and historical leaders。 The artwork is beautiful and overall it’s a great way to introduce kids to the royal crown of England in a straight forward way。

I love this range of books。 They are all so well written， interesting and informative， for both adults and children alike。 My 8year old loved this title as always and I always like to read them as well。 They always shed some new light on the person。 Highly recommended。

We have other books in the series Little People， Big Dreams （Ghandi & Stephen Hawking） and enjoyed them。 So when I saw this edition on NetGalley I had to snag it。 I read this with my daughter and she loved it。 She enjoyed all the pages and it kept her attention until the end。 I don’t know much about the royal family but it was fun to learn a few facts about the new King。

As a huge fan of this series I was delighted to be approved to read this book。All Little People， Big Dreams books tell the life story of someone influential but in child friendly language。 This one tells the story of possibly one of the most famous men in the whole world， the new King Charles。 This will be an excellent resource to use both at home and in school with the upcoming Coronation。

The series of illustrated bibliographies Little people， big dreams by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara， which tells the life of prominent personalities in a simple way， is devoted this time to narrating the life of King Charles III。Living in the UK and being interested in royal affairs， I thought it would be nice to read this mini biography ahead of the coronation next May。In general， the life and successes （a little less failures） of the new king are told very gently， and the volume is certainly wit The series of illustrated bibliographies Little people， big dreams by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara， which tells the life of prominent personalities in a simple way， is devoted this time to narrating the life of King Charles III。Living in the UK and being interested in royal affairs， I thought it would be nice to read this mini biography ahead of the coronation next May。In general， the life and successes （a little less failures） of the new king are told very gently， and the volume is certainly within the reach of a child。It tells of a little Charles who had to face many difficulties because of his future role， despite the love and support he received from his family。I liked that mention was made of the support that the then prince has always given to environmental associations， and his passion for nature。However， I was sorry how the fairytale wedding with Lady Diana was treated in a perhaps too simplistic way and， in the same way， his relationship with her “lifelong friend” Camilla。 I understand that it is difficult for children to understand certain concepts but， putting myself in their shoes， if I had to grow up with the myth of a character and then discover when I grow up that he was not a transparent person as indicated by the book， I would feel betrayed and made fun of。The illustrations are very simple， and illuminated by pastel colours。 It’s very nice to see how some of them perfectly reproduce what was the historical moment （for example， the drawing of the wedding with Diana Spencer）。The final moral is nice， in which the reader is made to realize that， if Charles became king at the age of 73， one should not punish oneself if one does not have the same times or the same successes as one peers。 。。。more
