Good book

I have read every Reacher book so far and I will admit to taking a bit of time to get used to the new collaboration between Andrew and Lee Child, but no 27 has got me back into the groove。There are all the familiar elements that personify the character of Jack Reacher and considering my own packing for just a weekend away, I still don’t know how he gets away with just a toothbrush。As always he is unable to let the death of an innocent go, especially when he has witnessed the incident and chased I have read every Reacher book so far and I will admit to taking a bit of time to get used to the new collaboration between Andrew and Lee Child, but no 27 has got me back into the groove。There are all the familiar elements that personify the character of Jack Reacher and considering my own packing for just a weekend away, I still don’t know how he gets away with just a toothbrush。As always he is unable to let the death of an innocent go, especially when he has witnessed the incident and chased down the killer。 This leads to the first thread in the plot which seems tenuous at first but as the story develops the clues keep pointing him in the same direction。 He begins to connect with other players in what appears to be a scam on a major scale and as always there are those who are out to stop Reacher from reaching his destination。The reader is offered some perspective from the other side of this plot to add context。 Add in a young man desperate to connect with his past and you join Reacher in a fast paced race towards the climax。Not sure how long Reacher can sustain such a rigorous outing but I am happy to go along for the ride while he does。 。。。more

I don't mind a good action thriller, but this one at times felt like it dragged。 Jack Reacher again brings the solutions, both mental and physical, but the boy on the bus felt a bit too detailed at times。 I don't mind a good action thriller, but this one at times felt like it dragged。 Jack Reacher again brings the solutions, both mental and physical, but the boy on the bus felt a bit too detailed at times。 。。。more

Well done, Andrew Child。 This book had some substance and felt much more like Lee Child's earlier Reacher books。 Could use a bit more nuance to Reacher but a huge step in the right direction。 Well done, Andrew Child。 This book had some substance and felt much more like Lee Child's earlier Reacher books。 Could use a bit more nuance to Reacher but a huge step in the right direction。 。。。more

Any Reacher book starts with 4 stars, full credit for such an interesting character thru every book, even if he's not at his most interesting in this one。 Marked down to 3 stars as the Plot and literally everyone in the book (villains, accomplices, etc。) are so poorly conceived that they only serve to be consistently boring & annoying。 And as much as I enjoy a good Reacher ass-kicking, it's comical how many times he disarms opponents holding him at gunpoint and/or "kicks them in the head" at any Any Reacher book starts with 4 stars, full credit for such an interesting character thru every book, even if he's not at his most interesting in this one。 Marked down to 3 stars as the Plot and literally everyone in the book (villains, accomplices, etc。) are so poorly conceived that they only serve to be consistently boring & annoying。 And as much as I enjoy a good Reacher ass-kicking, it's comical how many times he disarms opponents holding him at gunpoint and/or "kicks them in the head" at any given time。 He literally knocks (I lost count 。。。) 15 or so people "out", along with a few other slightly more violent than normal killings。 All a bit raw for me 。。 I enjoy the clever, philosophical and occasional comical Reacher vibe, not just a jackhammer。 。。。more

Great plot, kept me on the edge of my seat throughout。

I am not a fan of co-authored books, and this one is no exception。 Could be my last Jack Reacher book。 Was easy to put down and walk away from。

Started slow, but finished nicely。 This would make a good transition to the small screen。

It took a long time to understand what was happening but a good jack teacher book generally。

By far NOT my favorite Reacher book。 Probably the second worst。 The story was convoluted through the first two-thirds of the book。 The way it was written wasn't fun to read by the way the story jumped around to at least four different story lines (which do eventually come together at the end)。 Come on guys (Child and Child/father-son) you can do better! The premise of the story is good。 Wasn't what I was expecting。 It's just the way the whole thing was laid out。 There's no humor in this from Reac By far NOT my favorite Reacher book。 Probably the second worst。 The story was convoluted through the first two-thirds of the book。 The way it was written wasn't fun to read by the way the story jumped around to at least four different story lines (which do eventually come together at the end)。 Come on guys (Child and Child/father-son) you can do better! The premise of the story is good。 Wasn't what I was expecting。 It's just the way the whole thing was laid out。 There's no humor in this from Reacher, which I have come to expect (take some humor pointers for Nelson DeMille)。 Way too much time given describing the surroundings like the inside of a restaurant。 Who gives a rats a** what it looks like if it doesn't have anything to do with the plot? I can't say I don't recommend it, but if you are a Reacher fan, go ahead and read it。 。。。more

I've listened through the entire series in about a year and it was a great ride。 Nothing sophisticated, but really fun。 Jeff Harding's narration is perfect for the pace of the books。 I tried one narrated by Scott Brick, who's style I generally enjoy, but his voice just isn't right for this series。Some of the books were okay, most were great, all were a quick read。 However, the last three books, since Lee Child started co-writing with his brother Andrew, didn't really click anymore。 I guess with I've listened through the entire series in about a year and it was a great ride。 Nothing sophisticated, but really fun。 Jeff Harding's narration is perfect for the pace of the books。 I tried one narrated by Scott Brick, who's style I generally enjoy, but his voice just isn't right for this series。Some of the books were okay, most were great, all were a quick read。 However, the last three books, since Lee Child started co-writing with his brother Andrew, didn't really click anymore。 I guess with Lee Child stepping down from the series, it's time for me to look for something new, too。 。。。more

While I wasn't a fan of the last Reacher book (Better Off Dead), I did enjoy No Plan B。 The characters and their interconnection worked really well in my opinion and I liked the storyline and how it played to Reacher's inquisitive personality。 I wasn't sure I was going to give this one a chance after the last one but having read all the Reacher books so far, I couldn't not give it a go。 Between Harry Potter and Reacher, these novels brought me to reading as an adult and I just can't give it up。 While I wasn't a fan of the last Reacher book (Better Off Dead), I did enjoy No Plan B。 The characters and their interconnection worked really well in my opinion and I liked the storyline and how it played to Reacher's inquisitive personality。 I wasn't sure I was going to give this one a chance after the last one but having read all the Reacher books so far, I couldn't not give it a go。 Between Harry Potter and Reacher, these novels brought me to reading as an adult and I just can't give it up。 。。。more

Jack Reacher is back to being his old self - a vigilante for justice。 You know what you are going to get when you start a jack Reacher book and it is satisfying that the bad guys get the comeuppance by the end, and Jack moves on。

Julie Bateman

My least favourite Reacher。 Choppy, inconsistent with the character of old, took far too long for the plot lines to come together and generally didn’t flow the way these books usually do。 Read to the end out of loyalty but it might be my last。

Mr。 Harry Grose

Not your best, probably not a good mix of father and son writing together。 I noticed the same thing with Jonathan Kellerman and his wife Faye writing together。

Jack Reacher manages to get himself into some strange predicaments which stretches one's willing suspension of disbelief but he plans so carefully I can't help but go with his handiness。 Jack Reacher manages to get himself into some strange predicaments which stretches one's willing suspension of disbelief but he plans so carefully I can't help but go with his handiness。 。。。more

Reacher: Still a good, quick read, but more and more unrealistic Enjoyable quick, multi-plot read。 A bit too many incredible escapes by Reacher and too easy disablement of the bad guys with a single punch or head butt。 Reacher kills too often without remorse or consequence。

This was a better Lee and Andrew Child collaboration than the previous two efforts and I liked it right up until the last few pages。 The ending felt rushed and hurried and left me asking, "wait, that's all?" I haven't had as many complaints about the "Lee Child and Andrew Child" collaborations as some seem to, and I heard that this volume was a step up from the earlier collaborations。 For about the first 80% of the book, I was heartened - it seemed like "the old Reacher" might be back。It all fell apart in the last 20%, though, when the authors introduced plot surprises that made little sense, and when they seemed to be rushing to finish the book: The final chapters of the book seemed like a draft an I haven't had as many complaints about the "Lee Child and Andrew Child" collaborations as some seem to, and I heard that this volume was a step up from the earlier collaborations。 For about the first 80% of the book, I was heartened - it seemed like "the old Reacher" might be back。It all fell apart in the last 20%, though, when the authors introduced plot surprises that made little sense, and when they seemed to be rushing to finish the book: The final chapters of the book seemed like a draft and not a finished product。 。。。more

I don’t love Reacher morphing into a cruel serial killer。 I would like for that to stop, please。

If you are a fan of Jack Reacher, you will love this latest tale。 The plot is something I've never seen before, and it gave me chills。 Reacher does his thing in his usual way and shows his softer side at the conclusion。 As usual, I'm eager for the next one! Just some good fun Jack Reacher action。 This particular book wasn't as straightforward as many of the other Reacher plots, but that's neither here nor there。 Just some good fun Jack Reacher action。 This particular book wasn't as straightforward as many of the other Reacher plots, but that's neither here nor there。 。。。more

It seems that the Jack Reacher series is running out of steam。 I found this latest to be tortuous to follow and tedious with some of the detail。 When the intertwining stories finally converged the climax was less than convincing。 I wonder how much influence Co-author Andrew Child is having on trying to keep the series going。

As an AI language model, I do not have personal opinions about books。 However, "No Plan B" is a book written by Mark Koster, which talks about the making of the Elon Musk's SpaceX, and its mission to change the way we travel to space。 It details how Musk and his team faced numerous failures, setbacks, and near bankruptcy, but never gave up on achieving their goal of making space travel accessible to everyone。 The book is a fascinating account of the entrepreneurial spirit, perseverance, and vision of Musk and his team。
