A beautiful adaptation of one of the most important books ever。I had my reservations about reading a graphic novel adaptation of Anne Frank's diary （how could that even be done？）， but I had just recently seen Ari Folman's animated film， 'Where Is Anne Frank'， and I wanted to look up his other work， which happened to include 'Anne Frank's Diary: The Graphic Adaptation'， published a few years earlier。 I'm pleased that they have a similar drawing style。Like the film， this was conceived and executed A beautiful adaptation of one of the most important books ever。I had my reservations about reading a graphic novel adaptation of Anne Frank's diary （how could that even be done？）， but I had just recently seen Ari Folman's animated film， 'Where Is Anne Frank'， and I wanted to look up his other work， which happened to include 'Anne Frank's Diary: The Graphic Adaptation'， published a few years earlier。 I'm pleased that they have a similar drawing style。Like the film， this was conceived and executed tastefully and respectfully， managing to capture the spirit of young Anne's mind， heart， life， humanity， whole person， introspections， history， and time in WWII。Talk about art imitating life。The artwork is lovely， soft， expressive and suitable。 The style and format are wonderful and creative。As it turns out， the world's most famous diary can be told this way; 149 pages is just enough。'Anne Frank's Diary （The Diary of a Young Girl）' - Always heartbreaking， always touching。Always to be remembered， no matter what。Read my review of the original diary for more。Final Score: 4。5/5 。。。more

A really great read for anyone who has wanted to read Anne Frank’s Diary but prefers a visual medium。 The text gives Anne’s voice a lot of imagination and realises the things she wanted to do， but sadly never got to。 Beautiful drawings accompanying beautiful text， a wonderful read for all。

I love the version of this iconic book。 Through those years of hiding， she still had the same wants and desires of any other teen。 I loved that I could relate to her feelings as a teen， the almost overwhelming feeling of wanting to belong but also wanting to be heard， wanted and understood。

I read Anne Frank’s Diary by Ari Folman and David Polonsky as my choice book for a choice book in my english class。 I rated it five out of five starts。 I loved reading it。 It was very easy to follow the plot， and the illustrations were amazing。 It keeps you intrigued throughout the entire book and there is never a dull moment while reading this book。 There is an illustration of the layout of Anne Frank's attic， so you can really understand how small things were and the setting of the book。This b I read Anne Frank’s Diary by Ari Folman and David Polonsky as my choice book for a choice book in my english class。 I rated it five out of five starts。 I loved reading it。 It was very easy to follow the plot， and the illustrations were amazing。 It keeps you intrigued throughout the entire book and there is never a dull moment while reading this book。 There is an illustration of the layout of Anne Frank's attic， so you can really understand how small things were and the setting of the book。This book truly brings out Anne’s personality and thoughts， which is probably my favorite part about this book。 It shows her struggles， her deepest secrets， her competitions， and what she is most passionate about。 I can relate to Anne a lot because of her strong outgoing personality。 She says what she thinks acting like she doesn't care about what others think but deep inside she really does。 It's probably what she thinks about most。 She wants to be just like her sister because everyone loves her sister。One of my favorite quotes from the book is “I’m stuck with the character I was born with， and yet I'm sure I’m not a bad person。” Anne expresses her feelings and all of them。 Whetheit'sts rage， sadness， disappointment， happiness， or disappointment。 Everyone is going to know how she is feeling and why。 On the other hand， her sister， Margot， can contain her emotions， and everyone loves that about her。 They praise her for it。 Because of that Anne is sad that her personality is so strong， and she thinks she might be a bad person because of it。Before the war， Anne was very popular in school， had lots of friends， and all the boys had a crush on her。 Then tragedy happened and she and her sister Margot had to switch to a different school for Jewish people only。 Soon after they had to move into an annex above a house， where she stays for the rest of the book。 She lived with her family， one other family， and another guy。 Throughout the book， she expresses her feelings more and more。 Whether it is about her sister Margot， Peter's mother Madame， or her own mother。 When they first move into the annex they have plenty of food and supplies， but throughout the book， they become more and more scares。 They could also listen to the radio to see what was happening with the war， but they had to stop because they didnt want to risk it。 Throughout the book things continue to get worst and worst， they start getting fed up with each other， splitting food， and becoming more and more impatient。 At the end of the book， you find out that the two families living in the annex did it make it， only the dentist does。I would say the theme of this book is to be thankful for what you have while you have it and to be yourself no matter what people say。 Anne spends a lot of her time reminiscing about what her life used to be and how she wants it to go back to that。 She also is herself no matter what。 The other people in the annex do get annoyed with ut and it does hurt her， but it definitely doesn't stop her。 。。。more
