Summary

An updated edition of the blockbuster bestselling leadership book that took America and the world by storm, two U。S。 Navy SEAL officers who led the most highly decorated special operations unit of the Iraq War demonstrate how to apply powerful leadership principles from the battlefield to business and life。

Combat, the most intense and dynamic environment imaginable, teaches the toughest leadership lessons, with absolutely everything at stake。 Jocko Willink and Leif Babin learned this reality first-hand on the most violent and dangerous battlefield in Iraq。 As leaders of SEAL Team Three's Task Unit Bruiser, their mission was one many thought impossible: help U。S。 forces secure Ramadi, a violent, insurgent-held city deemed "all but lost。" In gripping, firsthand accounts of heroism, tragic loss, and hard-won victories, they learned that leadership--at every level--is the most important factor in whether a team succeeds or fails。

Willink and Babin returned home from deployment and instituted SEAL leadership training to pass on their harsh lessons learned in combat to help forge the next generation of SEAL leaders。 After leaving the SEAL Teams, they launched a company, Echelon Front, to teach those same leadership principles to leaders in businesses, companies, and organizations across the civilian sector。 Since that time, they have trained countless leaders and worked with hundreds of companies in virtually every industry across the U。S。 and internationally, teaching them how to develop their own high-performance teams and most effectively lead those teams to dominate their battlefields。

Since it's release in October 2015, Extreme Ownership has revolutionized leadership development and set a new standard for literature on the subject。 Required reading for many of the most successful organizations, it has become an integral part of the official leadership training programs for scores of business teams, military units, and first responders。 Detailing the mindset and principles that enable SEAL units to accomplish the most difficult combat missions, Extreme Ownership demonstrates how to apply them to any team or organization, in any leadership environment。 A compelling narrative with powerful instruction and direct application, Extreme Ownership challenges leaders everywhere to fulfill their ultimate purpose: lead and win。

Niet super veel nieuwe info, omdat ik al zo veel had gehoord en had gelezen over dit boek。 Nog steeds goed。

Practical advice to pure discipline no motivation needed

Extreme Ownership is an easy, direct read。 That is not to discredit it in anyway, I adore this book and the lessons passed on from the Authors。 Willink and Babin have a no none-sense approach to their writing, so there is no wasted time。I recommend this book to anyone in--or pursuing-- positions of authority or leadership, anyone looking into the military, and anyone just wanting to improve their life seeking guidance and motivation。

While the war stories at times seemed verbose, for lack of a better term, there were some great nuggets of information。 The biggest was the realization that the armed forces, specifically in combat can offer keen insights on leadership of geographically disparate and remote teams。

Interesting read but the content wasn’t particularly applicable to my life at the moment。 I’ve probably picked up a few things and may re-read at a later date but I just found the book getting pretty repetitive。 The leadership stories told in Ramadi and Iraq are good and what kept me pushing through, but the Principle and Application to Business sections are pretty dry and abstract。

DNF。 Lots of pressure from work to read for our quarterly book club。 I gave up a little last half way。 I found it ridiculous and irritating for so many reasons。

Nothing new to learn in terms of leadership。 It talks about - why are SEAL cool, military, war and generic leadership principles。 Dropped after 1 chapter。

Great book about leadershipI cannot recommend this book enough for the leaders in the beginning of their leaders careers。 The books give a condensed set of rules the leader should follow to become successful in this role。 The things are not new and we're not developed by the authors', but shows why these principles are important for leaders - they are being tested in the most extreme situations, on the battlefield。 Great book about leadershipI cannot recommend this book enough for the leaders in the beginning of their leaders careers。 The books give a condensed set of rules the leader should follow to become successful in this role。 The things are not new and we're not developed by the authors', but shows why these principles are important for leaders - they are being tested in the most extreme situations, on the battlefield。 。。。more

One of my favorite books。 Most applicable to business, but I love how the principles apply to any leadership role even in family。 This is my second time reading it and it is one of the most powerful books on leadership。 Would recommend to everyone who is aspiring to be a leader。 Contains some language as is expected in a war book, but isn't as bad as some of the other war books I know。 One of my favorite books。 Most applicable to business, but I love how the principles apply to any leadership role even in family。 This is my second time reading it and it is one of the most powerful books on leadership。 Would recommend to everyone who is aspiring to be a leader。 Contains some language as is expected in a war book, but isn't as bad as some of the other war books I know。 。。。more

So much fluff。 Extreme Ownership concept is good, and simplicity is good。 Repetitive, lots of stories。 Could be trimmed and make for a great booklet。

There were some good points and lessons people can take with them from all walks of life contained in this book。 However, I felt at times, it was very redundant and often cause me to lose interest。

Couldn’t recommend this book more!! One of the best leadership books I’ve ever read!

Mansplaining leadership strategies which should be common sense while using war stories to try and make them seem awe-inspiring。

Intense。Gripping。Raw。The 3 best words I can come up with to describe the battlefield scenarios。The parallels to the business world are exemplary as often, leaders do not own their mistakes and simply pass them on。 Navy Seals, like business owners and entrepreneurs, must take 100% accountability for their actions as they oversee everything and have to own it all。 Success and failures are shared amongst a team。If you're deciding between the physical book and the audiobook I say go for the audioboo Intense。Gripping。Raw。The 3 best words I can come up with to describe the battlefield scenarios。The parallels to the business world are exemplary as often, leaders do not own their mistakes and simply pass them on。 Navy Seals, like business owners and entrepreneurs, must take 100% accountability for their actions as they oversee everything and have to own it all。 Success and failures are shared amongst a team。If you're deciding between the physical book and the audiobook I say go for the audiobook - Jocko's voice makes you feel grittier。 。。。more

Really good book with a lot of helpful information in JT。 There are almost 2 books in this one: stories of the authors’ time in SEALS and a leadership book。 I think the book can get bogged down in the former, which there is nothing wrong with, but it can take away from the leadership aspects of the book。This book does the best job of summarizing concepts when it says something along the lines of: “these are simple concepts to understand, but difficult to master。”Many of the leadership concepts a Really good book with a lot of helpful information in JT。 There are almost 2 books in this one: stories of the authors’ time in SEALS and a leadership book。 I think the book can get bogged down in the former, which there is nothing wrong with, but it can take away from the leadership aspects of the book。This book does the best job of summarizing concepts when it says something along the lines of: “these are simple concepts to understand, but difficult to master。”Many of the leadership concepts are very good, but are very straightforward。 There’s nothing wrong with that at all, as they are very good reminders that all leaders need。 There’s definitely a lot that anyone can learn from the leadership tips shared in this novel。The business cases are very helpful and good examples of how to practically use the advice given。 I do wish the cases would be a bit more complex at times, it doesn’t take away from the point they are making or the application to our everyday leadership improvement。The military stories are extremely interesting and help build credence of the authors。 Both are extremely qualified men to be giving leadership advice and it’s very informative to get firsthand information of how they applied these leadership concepts。Overall, this is an extremely good book that I would recommend to anyone looking to improve their own leadership, which should be everyone。 。。。more

Burned through this book, and already want to re-read it with a highlighter and ear mark some pages。 The authors use great vignettes to get their points across and it really hits home the applicability in leading in any scenario。 This is a must-read for anyone in a leadership role or someone aspiring to take the next step up。

This book NOT what you expect in a motivation books。。 No jorgons to get goosebump , not a specific person is appreciated in whole books, no bragging themselves。。 IT is just simple leadership ideology explained in story/scenrio/situation based (in war zone and business) which will surely help build leadership and ownership mind set, this book I feel is not just for leaders or upcoming leaders but also an intern who should be taking responsibility for what he has been tasked。。

。。。more
